At Night....
Heavy rain outside. The sound of thunder fills the silence.
Raghav's mother is not at home. She has gone to a nearby village to meet a relative.
Kanak is inside the house, closing the windows and adjusting things before sleeping.
Suddenly, the door opens loudly.
Raghav enters.He is drunk and completely unstable. His steps are uneven, and his eyes don't look normal.
Kanak turns towards him.
"You're late… you should rest," she says softly.
Raghav keeps looking at her without replying.
Then he asks slowly, "Where is Mom?"
"She went to a nearby village… to meet a relative," Kanak answers.
Raghav nods, but his eyes don't leave her. There is something in his gaze that makes Kanak uncomfortable.
She takes a small step back.
"You should go and sleep," she says again.
But Raghav starts walking towards her. Slowly he came too close.
Kanak's heartbeat rises.
"Raghav… stay away," she says, her voice no longer steady.
