Yokai Awakening follows the rise and fall of a bloodline tied to both glory and ruin. Long ago, Prince Mydeimos Crimson, the firstborn of the Crimson King, stood as the strongest of his kind—a ruler blessed with love, family, and unmatched power. But in a single tragic moment, he lost everything: his wife, his children, and even his own life. No one, not even the Crimson King himself, knows how he truly died.
Centuries later, the Crimson name is no longer a symbol of peace but of fear—monsters seeking to reshape the world in their image. In this new era, a boy named Jae Hoon is born. Unlike the corrupted legacy of the Crimsons, Jae cherishes his family, dreams of protecting those he loves, and longs to create a better world. From childhood, he learns magic, awakens his mana core, and begins uncovering the hidden truths of the world—and of himself.
But fate is cruel. Betrayed and humiliated by Princess Liora in the royal capital, Jae returns home only to find his village in flames. There, before his very eyes, a hooded figure slaughters his people and rips his father apart in the most horrific way imaginable. Cornered at the edge of a cliff, Jae faces certain death—until a mysterious system appears before him with a single question:
“Do you wish to awaken?”
That moment marks the beginning of Jae Hoon’s Yokai Awakening—a rebirth into a world filled with political issues,power hungry, deadly yokai beasts, and unending war. Yet even with his new strength, peace is fragile. To survive, Jae must endure betrayal, political strife, and battles that push him to his very limits, all while uncovering the mysteries of his reincarnation, the Crimsons, and his own destiny.
