Chapter 85 - Dominion of the End

The frozen peaks trembled under the weight of two opposing Divine Arts.

Seraphina and Lucifer stood locked in a duel that had transcended mere combat. Their breaths came heavy, ragged clouds of frost and black mist mingling in the devastated air. Seraphina's Eternal Frost Divine art had painted the battlefield in crystalline perfection — towering ice guardians, slowing fields of absolute zero, and lances of primordial cold that sought to freeze even the concept of motion itself. Yet Lucifer's Abyssal Death Eclipse was devouring it all.

Slowly, inexorably, the black shroud expanded. Ice cracked and crumbled into dust. The cold lost its bite as entropy claimed the win in the divine art clash. Seraphina's eyes widened as her art faltered, the elegant structures of her power collapsing one by one. The world around them transformed into Lucifer full divine art.

Everything became black.

The ground turned into a blood-soaked mire that reeked of rotten corpses and ancient decay. The sky above vanished beneath an eclipsed void. Wraiths and corpse-like hands began rising from the bloody earth, moaning with the voices of the long dead. The stench was overwhelming — decay, blood, and the final silence of all living things.

Lucifer's eyes burned with pure madness. His body was fully consumed by the Divine Art, wings of pure oblivion spreading wide. "Die… die… die… die… die… die… DIE!"

He speed-blitzed forward, right hand turning into a blade of writhing black flames — his Death Blade ability, a weapon that severed not just flesh but the very soul and lifespan of whatever it touched. The air screamed as he closed the distance.

Seraphina tried to move, summoning the last remnants of her frost to propel herself backward. But it was too late. Corpse hands erupted from the bloodied ground, skeletal fingers clamping around her ankles with unnatural strength. They dragged her down, rotting her boots and sapping the strength from her legs. She couldn't escape.

Lucifer struck.

Seraphina barely managed to raise her sword and parried the attack. The Death Blade met her weapon with a cataclysmic clash. Sparks of black flame and dying ice exploded outward. The impact sent shockwaves in the divine art. Seraphina was driven back, feet carving trenches through the corrupted ground, but she held.

The fight exploded into a frenzy that would be spoken of in legends.

Lucifer pressed the assault without pause. His Death Blade slashed in wide, unpredictable arcs, each swing carrying the weight of inevitable mortality. Seraphina danced between them with graceful desperation, her sword flashing with residual frost. She countered with precise thrusts, freezing sections of Lucifer's eclipse and shattering wraiths that rose to aid him. Every time their blades met, portions of the battlefield withered or froze in conflicting patterns — one moment a field of decaying flowers, the next a patch of perfect ice that cracked moments later.

Seraphina's mind raced. "I can't let him overwhelm me. Hold the line. Find the weakness in his eclipse." She channeled more power into her blade, creating a spinning vortex of absolute zero that slowed Lucifer's movements. For a brief moment, she gained the upper hand, landing a deep cut across his chest that froze the wound solid.

Lucifer roared in fury. The eclipse pulsed, and the frozen wound shattered as fresh death energy poured forth. Corpse hands multiplied, grabbing at Seraphina from all directions. She sliced through them with elegant sweeps, but each one drained her further. Lucifer blitz again, his Death Blade extending into a massive scythe of oblivion. Seraphina met it head-on, their powers colliding in a dome of clashing energies that split the sky.

The battle dragged on for what felt like hours. They traded devastating blows across the ruined landscape. Seraphina summoned colossal ice avatars that grappled with decaying titans summoned by Lucifer. She froze rivers of blood only for them to thaw into corrosive sludge. Lucifer's wraiths swarmed her, forcing her into defensive patterns while he prepared larger strikes.

Seraphina was magnificent in her resistance — a beacon of icy elegance against overwhelming decay. She landed several critical hits, freezing large portions of Lucifer's form and slowing his madness. Yet the Emperor of Death was relentless. His Divine Art fed on the destruction, growing stronger as the battlefield became a true domain of the end. Wounds that would have felled lesser beings barely slowed him.

In a final, desperate exchange, Seraphina poured everything into one ultimate strike — a colossal lance of Eternal Frost aimed at Lucifer's core. It pierced the eclipse, freezing a massive section of his body. For one shining moment, victory seemed possible.

Lucifer laughed through the pain. The eclipse surged, consuming the lance and the ice around it. Corpse hands erupted in greater numbers, pinning Seraphina completely. His Death Blade descended one final time.

The blade sliced clean through her neck.

Seraphina's eyes widened in shock as her head separated from her body. Blood sprayed across the corrupted ground. Her body collapsed, the last remnants of her frost dominion shattering like fragile glass.

Lucifer stood victorious, breathing heavily, his form still wreathed in the Abyssal Death Eclipse. He reached down and picked up Seraphina's head by the hair, staring into her lifeless eyes with unhinged satisfaction. "Die… die… die… die… die… die… die…"

Still chanting, his divine art shattered and he began walking deeper into the forest, Seraphina's head dangling from his grip as he hunted for Eryndor.

The Emperor of Ice Seraphina had fallen.
