The Magical Conductance
In the vertical, steam-driven metropolis of the Spire, reality is not a physical certainty—it is a digital ledger maintained by the elite Scripters. The city is divided by gravity and class: the gleaming High Spire hoards "Conductance" (pure energy), while the decaying Lower District survives on the thermal scraps, governed by the rhythmic "Shift" of massive, grinding gears.
The story follows Alok, a cynical scavenger with a knack for "tuning" salvaged tech, and Arya, a brilliant but defensive mechanic. Their lives fracture when a Dead Spot—a localized void of absolute zero—begins "digesting" their neighborhood. When Alok’s friend Kael is consumed by the void, Alok discovers he can bridge the gap between energy and nothingness, resulting in a permanent, matte-grey "scar" on his arm that acts as a manual interface with the city’s code.
As the Spire initiates "Abrasive Venting"—a genocidal protocol to purge the Lower District to stabilize the upper reaches—Alok, Arya, and a disgraced Scripter named Julian subvert the city’s physics. Through a desperate act of "Inversion," they flip the gravity of their district, turning the slums into the roof of the world and crashing into the Spire’s forbidden Core.
Now inside the machine, they must face Master Kaelen and the Recursive Echoes of the city's founders to rewrite the Ledger before the "Gleam-Sweep" erases their existence entirely. Alok is no longer just a scavenger; he is becoming a living virus in the system, the only thing standing between ten thousand souls and a "Hard Reboot" of reality.
