Chapter 126 - Chapter 126: Reunion (III)

A few hours later, everyone gathered for lunch.

Everyone.

The main hall of the GDI command carrier was filled with voices, laughter, and the occasional clatter of utensils as Shipgirls and Nikkes gathered around the long tables. For once, there were no alarms, no battlefield reports, and no urgent missions demanding their attention.

It was simply a meal.

Yuuki sat quietly for a moment, looking around at the people gathered before him.

His eyes moved from one familiar face to another.

His Shipgirls.

His Nikkes.

His family.

The family he had built was getting bigger by the day.

The girls who had once stood alone, belonged to distant factions, or had nowhere left to call home were now sitting together under the same roof.

And Yuuki couldn't help but smile.

His current Shipgirls included Kaguya, Yorktown, Enterprise, Illustrious, Unicorn, Akagi, Kaga, Takao, Atago, Maya, Choukai, Houshou, Eldridge, Prinz Eugen, Admiral Hipper, Avrora, Prince of Wales, San Diego, Bulin, Kurin, Purin, Nimi, Laffey, Javelin, Vestal, Akashi, and Belfast.

Most of them had already been strengthened tremendously through the Levelling System.

His Nikkes were no different.

Those who had already reached Level 30 or higher included Nayuta, Rapi, Anis, Neon, Mary, Pepper, Ade, Soda, and Cocoa.

Fairies Oberis and Esche joined them with their trees.

Laurelin and Telperion.

And there were even more Shipgirls among them now.

Shoukaku, Zuikaku, Hiryuu, Souryuu, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Centaur, Albion, Mecklenburg, Hindenburg, Friedrich, and Ayanami.

The tables were also filled with more newly welcomed faces.

Mamiya, Irako, Ning Hai, Ping Hai, Tai Yuan, Ting An, Ying Swei, Blücher, and Lützow had all joined the growing gathering.

The Nikkes had grown in number as well.

Emma, Vesti, Eunhwa, Velvet, Privaty, and Cinderella were now part of the group.

And then there was the newest Arcane Shipgirl.

Irisviel.

She sat among the others, still taking in the unfamiliar sight of so many different Shipgirls and Nikkes gathering together as one family.

But the newest arrivals didn't end there.

The Royal Navy's Town-class maids had also joined the gathering.

Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Liverpool, Gloucester, and Sheffield. Including new Iron Blood Admiral Hipper class Seydlitz and Weser.

Beside them were the newly welcomed Kancolle Shipgirls:

Asahi, Akashi, Prinz Eugen, Kashima, and Katori.

The group from Exia Island had also arrived.

Bismarck, Tirpitz, Pallada, Diana, King George—Georgina, Anson, Duke of York, and Howe.

And among the newest Nikkes were Ludmilla, Alice, Tove, and Neve.

It was almost overwhelming.

So many new faces.

So many different origins.

So many different histories.

Yet they were all sitting together now.

Yuuki looked around the hall again.

Every girl had changed out of whatever clothing she had worn during her rescue or treatment. They had been given time to wash, rest, eat, and recover.

Now, they wore their standard uniforms.

The uniforms that represented who they were.

The Royal Maids wore their familiar maid attire. The Iron Blood girls wore their respective military uniforms. The Sakura girls wore their traditional outfits. The Eagle Union girls wore their naval uniforms. The Northern Parliament girls wore theirs.

Even the girls from Exia Island had returned to the uniforms that represented their identities.

For some of them, it was probably the first time in a long while that they had been able to wear those uniforms without fear.

Yuuki smiled.

They weren't prisoners.

They weren't test subjects.

They weren't weapons waiting for someone to point them toward a battlefield.

They were Shipgirls.

They were Nikkes.

And, more importantly, they were now part of GDI.

Yuu and Arisa had joined them as well, making the gathering even larger.

Yuuki looked toward the newcomers.

They were tired.

Some were still overwhelmed.

Others were quietly observing everything around them.

So he had already made one decision.

They would not be rushed.

They had spent years surviving, fighting, being experimented on, or simply trying to find somewhere safe.

They deserved time to breathe.

Yuuki raised his voice slightly.

"Everyone, listen for a moment."

The conversations gradually quieted.

"The Levelling System isn't going anywhere."

Several of the newer girls looked toward him.

"But none of you are getting it today."

A few surprised expressions appeared.

Yuuki smiled.

"You've all been through a lot. I want you to rest for at least another day before we install the system and begin your new careers here."

He glanced toward the newcomers.

"That means no training, no missions, and no trying to prove how strong you are."

San Diego slowly raised her hand.

Yuuki narrowed his eyes.

"Sandy."

"I didn't say anything!"

"You were about to."

She lowered her hand.

"...Maybe."

A few girls laughed.

Yuuki shook his head with a smile.

"Today is a welcoming party."

He looked around the enormous hall.

"So eat as much as you want. Talk. Get to know each other."

His gaze softened.

"You've all earned a little peace."

For a moment, the hall was quiet.

Then the conversations slowly returned.

Laughter filled the room again.

And as Yuuki looked around at everyone gathered together, he realized just how much his family had grown.

Yorktown, seated beside him, followed his gaze across the hall.

Enterprise sat on his other side, quietly observing the same scene.

Neither of them said anything for a moment.

There were simply too many people now.

Too many faces that had become precious to them.

Too many lives that had found a place within GDI.

Cinderella approached the table and stopped before Yuuki.

She gave him a graceful bow.

"My Prince... thank you again for waking me from my slumber."

She raised her head, her expression sincere.

"I promised you that I would do my best to be accepted by you."

Yuuki smiled.

"You're already accepted, Cinderella."

Her eyes widened slightly.

"Cindy, for short, my Prince."

She gave him a bright smile.

"Let's strive for the ultimate beauty!"

Yuuki chuckled.

"I see... Then let's work together, Cindy."

He reached out and gently patted her head.

Cinderella froze.

Then her entire expression melted.

"Ah..."

She practically leaned into his hand.

Without saying another word, she quietly moved to stand beside him, clearly positioning herself within easy head-patting range.

Yuuki couldn't help but smile.

Then another figure approached.

Seydlitz stopped before him and immediately snapped into a formal salute.

She looked completely different from when Yuuki had first encountered her.

Fully healed.

Standing tall.

Her posture proud, her blue eyes sharp and confident.

"Salute, Kommandant Yuuki!"

Her voice carried across the nearby tables.

"Iron Blood battlecruiser Seydlitz reporting in! Fourth ship of the Admiral Hipper class. Inexperienced though I may be, as of today, I am proud to serve this faction in the pursuit of honor and glory!"

Yuuki returned her smile.

"Ah, welcome to the GDI, Seydlitz."

Weser stepped forward next.

"Aircraft carrier Weser. Fifth ship among the Admiral Hipper class."

She paused.

"Although... it is rather strange that the Admiral Hipper class is supposed to consist of heavy cruisers, while I'm an aircraft carrier."

She glanced toward Seydlitz.

"But my elder sister insists that I'm the fifth ship."

Seydlitz nodded firmly.

"Because you are."

Weser sighed.

"And that makes little sister Eugen the sixth ship."

She looked back at Yuuki.

"Anyway, please accept me as well, Herr Kommandant."

"I already did."

Yuuki smiled.

"Welcome aboard, Weser."

His eyes moved over their uniforms.

"I assume you girls are familiar with your old uniforms by now?"

"Yes."

Seydlitz glanced down at herself.

"Though they have been modified slightly."

She touched the GDI crest displayed where the old insignia had once been.

"We no longer wear the Iron Blood cross. Instead, we bear the crest of the Diving Eagle."

Yuuki nodded.

"That sounds about right."

Seydlitz hesitated before looking back at him.

"Umm... Herr Kommandant?"

"Yes?"

"Are you well versed in swordsmanship?"

Yuuki blinked.

"Yes. I'm currently training the Takao sisters."

Seydlitz's eyes immediately lit up.

"Ah!"

She smiled.

"Would you fancy a duel sometime during our free time?"

Her hand rested near her naval saber.

"I wish to retrain my swordsmanship. You seem like you would make an excellent opponent."

Her blue eyes studied him with open interest.

Yuuki smiled.

"Sure. I don't mind."

He gestured toward Takao and her sisters.

"Takao challenges me to duels all the time to check her progress. So feel free to join us."

Seydlitz straightened happily.

"Ah! Thank you, Herr Kommandant!"

A teasing voice came from nearby.

"Oh? Already charming my older sister?"

Eugen grinned.

"Naughty Teddy Bear."

Yuuki looked at her.

"I don't know if accepting a duel counts as charming."

Hipper chuckled.

"Pff... Look at you, being so nice to us."

She turned toward another girl standing behind her.

"Want to meet our seventh ship?"

Yuuki raised an eyebrow.

"Seventh ship?"

Hipper nodded.

"Go on. Introduce yourself."

She gently nudged the timid girl forward.

The girl hesitated before stepping out from behind Hipper.

"Umm... German-born heavy cruiser, Prinz Eugen!"

She clasped her hands nervously.

"Former Admiral Hipper class, third ship of the other world. The Kancolle World."

She took a small breath.

"I am now... Admiral Hipper's seventh ship!"

Her cheeks reddened slightly.

"Please call me Prinz since I shared the same with my alternate self, Eugen."

Yuuki looked at her for a moment.

Then his gaze shifted from Prinz to Eugen.

"She really is different from you."

Eugen placed a hand against her chest with exaggerated pride.

"She's the timid version of me, Teddy Bear."

She pointed toward Prinz.

"And she shares Hipper's hair and eyes. Not her chest, though."

Hipper's eyebrow twitched.

"Eugen."

Eugen ignored her.

"Which makes her look like our little sister."

Prinz immediately hid behind Hipper.

"Eeep!"

Hipper instinctively stepped slightly in front of her.

Yuuki stared at Eugen.

"I'm pretty sure you're trying to harass your alternate self."

Eugen shrugged.

"I only wanted them bigger."

Yuuki sighed.

"Of course you did."

He then looked toward Prinz, his expression softening.

"Anyway... it's nice to meet you, Prinz."

Prinz slowly peeked out from behind Hipper.

Yuuki smiled.

"Looks like I finally have someone who can use the word 'German' instead of 'Iron Blood.'"

Prinz's nervous expression brightened.

"Feel free to ask me anything."

She smiled.

"Tha~nk you. I appreciate it!"

Yuu, who was sitting nearby, had one of the Bulins comfortably perched on her lap. She gently fed the little Bulin while the others gathered around her.

It was almost amusing.

The Bulins had once been terrified of Yuu and would run away whenever she approached.

Now, they were practically glued to her.

Yuuki glanced over at them.

"Looks like the Admiral Hipper sisters are finally complete, Chief."

Yuu smiled as she continued feeding the Bulin.

"Yes. Seems like it."

She looked toward the group of Hipper-class girls.

"Oh, and these two are my newest apprentices."

Two girls approached.

The first was a pink-haired girl with bright green eyes. Her outfit had a distinctive technician-like appearance, blending a traditional Japanese school uniform with mechanical elements. She wore a grey sailor-style uniform top with a red neckerchief bow over a long-sleeved, grey zippered undershirt. A blue pleated skirt with hakama-like vents at the hips completed the outfit, paired with dark thigh-high stockings.

The girl stepped forward enthusiastically.

"Ah! I wanted to meet and talk to you, Shikikan-sama!"

She gave him a cheerful smile.

"I'm Repair Ship Akashi! If you take a little damage, I can fix you up right here at the base! Just leave it to me!"

"You have the same name as our Akashi. You must be the alternate Akashi from the Kancolle world."

Yuuki widened his eyes.

"Nyaa! Don't take Akashi's job, nyaa!"

The familiar cat Akashi suddenly raised a paw.

She pointed accusingly at the newcomer.

"Pinkashi, nyaa!"

Yuuki blinked.

"Pinkashi?"

The pink-haired Akashi scratched her cheek sheepishly.

"Ah... I lost a game of rock-paper-scissors with Cat Akashi."

She sighed.

"So she decided to call me Pinkashi because of my hair."

Yuuki looked between the two Akashis.

"Well, you don't have two names like Prinz Eugen."

He glanced toward the timid Prinz.

"One can be Prinz, and the other can be Eugen."

He then looked back at the pink-haired Akashi.

"I can't exactly call you Kancolle Akashi, so if you don't mind, I'll call you Pinkashi."

Pinkashi's expression brightened.

"Of course!"

She nodded enthusiastically.

"I'm currently apprenticing under Doctor Yuu, so I'm learning a lot about GDI."

Her green eyes practically sparkled.

"There are so many technologies here! You won't mind if I learn everything I can, right?"

Yuuki chuckled.

"Not at all."

Then he pointed at her.

"Just try to get some sleep while you're at it."

Pinkashi froze.

"...Ah."

Yuu gave her a knowing look.

"She hasn't been sleeping enough."

"I have been sleeping!"

"You fell asleep standing up yesterday."

"...That was tactical resting."

Yuuki laughed.

"Sure it was."

Another girl approached them.

She bowed politely.

Her outfit carried a distinctly traditional Japanese appearance: a crisp white dress shirt with a white ribbon tied at the collar, covered by an open red haori-style coat with wide sleeves. A pair of black hakama completed the outfit, giving her a dignified and old-fashioned appearance.

She raised her head.

"Anoo... Shikikan-sama."

Her voice was soft but clear.

"I am the training special operations ship, Asahi."

She gave another small bow.

"I was formerly a Shikishima-class battleship."

She waved her hand dismissively.

"Ah, but that's not important. That was a long time ago."

She smiled politely.

"I look forward to working with you."

Yuuki returned her smile.

"Nice to meet you as well, Asahi."

He glanced toward Kancolle Akashi.

"And you too, Pinkashi."

He looked between the two newly arrived apprentices.

Yuuki smiled at the two new apprentices.

"Welcome to the GDI fleet, new doctors. If it's possible, I'd like you to tell me more about your world later."

He looked at their uniforms and equipment.

"Judging from your appearance, it looks like your world might be somewhere around 1946 or so. That would be interesting to learn about."

Pinkashi tilted her head.

"Shikikan-sama, what time period is your world from?"

"2080."

Both girls stared at him.

"That's far in the future!" Pinkashi exclaimed. "You must have flying cars by then."

Yuuki chuckled.

"We do."

Her eyes immediately lit up.

"The future is quite something. I can show you some of the advanced technology from my world later."

Pinkashi beamed.

"Really?!"

Yuuki then looked toward Asahi.

"Asahi, if you want to, I might be able to restore your battleship configuration."

Asahi's eyes widened.

"Really?"

"Maybe."

Yuuki raised a finger.

"But first, we'd need to research your rigging thoroughly."

He glanced toward Yuu.

"I've been wanting to start a project involving custom rigging anyway. The idea is to allow Shipgirls to change their configurations."

Yuu immediately looked interested.

"Not something as simple as Kaguya or Iris changing their forms, of course."

Yuuki continued.

"But theoretically, a Shipgirl could switch between different ship configurations."

He looked at Asahi.

"For you, that might mean restoring your original battleship configuration."

Asahi's expression softened.

"That would be wonderful..."

Yuuki smiled.

"There's just one condition."

Asahi straightened.

"What is it?"

"Keep your apprenticeship with Yuu."

Asahi blinked.

Yuuki gestured toward Yuu.

"She has never taken an apprentice before."

He glanced at the Bulins surrounding her.

"Now she has eight."

Yuu raised an eyebrow.

"Eight?"

Yuuki smiled.

"Eight. So appreciate the opportunity."

Asahi smiled warmly and bowed.

"I will, Shikikan-sama."

Yuu nodded approvingly before returning her attention to the Bulin sitting happily on her lap.

The little Bulin opened her mouth for another bite.

Yuuki chuckled.

Akashi's ears suddenly perked up.

"We can do that, nyaa?"

Yuuki looked toward her.

"Yeah."

Akashi's eyes sparkled.

"That opens up thousands of possibilities!"

She bounced slightly in excitement.

"New skill trees, new talents, new configurations!"

"Exactly."

Yuuki nodded.

"Though you won't be able to change configurations as quickly as the Arcane Shipgirls. They can alter themselves during battle."

He gestured toward Kaguya and Iris.

"You girls would need to choose your configuration before starting a mission."

He paused.

"Think of it like humans changing their weapons before battle."

The Shipgirls listened closely.

"You could have a destroyer configuration—fast, agile, and lightly armed."

He raised another finger.

"Cruiser configuration—moderate speed with moderate firepower."

Another.

"Battleship configuration—extremely heavy firepower and armor, but severely reduced speed."

"And aircraft carrier configuration," Pinkashi added.

Yuuki smiled.

"Exactly. Specialized in long-range attacks."

Yuu's eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

"That's going to require a lot of research."

"Which is why you and Vergil have already started."

Yuuki nodded toward her.

"You already have data from the Levelling System, so we have a foundation to work with."

He then looked toward the Nikkes gathered nearby.

"And don't worry. I haven't forgotten about my Nikkes."

Neon immediately perked up.

Yuuki continued.

"Nikkes have an advantage on land. You're already fast and highly mobile."

He thought for a moment.

"I might be able to use the same upgrade principles to let you carry much more powerful weapons."

"More firepower!"

Neon practically jumped out of her seat.

Eunhwa sighed.

"Stronger guns, huh?"

She glanced toward Yuuki.

"You read my mind, Commander."

She crossed her arms.

"Still, it's a shame we can't carry massive riggings like the Shipgirls."

Yuuki smiled.

"But I might be able to attach specialized attack drones to you instead."

Neon leaned forward.

"Drones?"

Yuuki nodded.

"I've actually got three projects I've been working on."

The Nikkes immediately became more attentive.

Yuuki smiled.

"And if the research works out..."

He looked around at the Shipgirls and Nikkes.

"Your options are going to expand considerably."

The Nikkes were visibly excited by Yuuki's plans.

The idea of new weapons, drones, configurations, and upgrades had already sparked several conversations around the table.

Yuuki barely had time to enjoy the enthusiasm before Akagi appeared beside him.

She held out a spoon.

"Shikikan-sama~"

Yuuki immediately raised both hands.

"Akagi, I can feed myself."

"Ahh~"

Akagi simply opened her mouth and waited.

Yuuki stared at her.

Akagi stared back.

A few seconds passed.

Yuuki sighed.

"...Fine."

He accepted the spoonful.

Akagi immediately smiled in triumph.

She leaned against him, her expression becoming much softer.

"Thank you for accepting Akagi, despite knowing what I did in the past."

Her voice became quieter.

"Akagi regretted those moments. I relived them over and over again."

She closed her eyes.

"Thank you, Shikikan-sama. Thank you so much."

Kaga stood beside her, her usual composure slightly softened.

"My gratitude as well, Shikikan-sama."

She lowered her gaze.

"I was afraid that after hearing about my past, you would no longer see me as the person I am today."

Yuuki looked at both of them.

"Don't worry."

His voice was gentle.

"We can't erase the past. But if you regret what you did and genuinely repent, then that's what matters to me."

He paused.

"Prioritize your loyalty. Learn from what happened and become better than you were."

His gaze settled on Kaga.

"And Kaga stayed true to your agenda. That alone shows me how loyal you are."

He smiled.

"You two are valuable to me."

Akagi immediately brightened.

"Ehee~ Akagi's attention is only for you, Shikikan-sama."

She glanced toward the others.

"Unlike those pest women on the island."

Yuuki sighed.

"Okay, okay. You don't have to hate them."

He reached up and gently rubbed Akagi and Kaga's ears.

Both of them immediately relaxed.

"Ahh..."

Akagi practically melted against him.

A voice came from nearby.

"Spoiled as always, Akagi-senpai."

Akagi's ears twitched.

She slowly turned around.

Shoukaku stood there with an amused smile.

She was tall and slender, with waist-length silver hair tied into a small sidetail and striking blue eyes framed by orange eyeliner. Her long-sleeved hooded kimono was decorated with floral motifs, yellow accents, red strings, and dark trim. A black sash secured the outfit above her hakama skirt, while white thigh-high socks, red-and-silver slippers, and black half-finger gloves completed her appearance.

Akagi narrowed her eyes.

"It seems another pest has arrived."

"That is you."

Shoukaku grinned.

"Kii!"

Akagi bristled.

Yuuki immediately reached over and pinched her ear.

"Behave."

Akagi instantly melted.

"Hai..."

Shoukaku covered her mouth, trying not to laugh.

Yuuki turned toward her.

"Shikikan-sama."

Shoukaku bowed politely.

"I am Shoukaku, flagship of the Fifth Carrier Division."

Her smile became slightly wry.

"Because my super-smart senpai went and got themselves killed, I had to carry the flag of the Sakura Empire's carrier divisions until they were revived."

She sighed dramatically.

"Though I was more accomplished than them, for whatever reason, I was always considered weaker."

She tilted her head.

"Maybe it was because of my so-called 'lack of grace and speed' during my final moments."

Her smile returned.

"With that said, allow me to properly reintroduce myself."

She placed a hand over her chest.

"I am Shoukaku, the punching bag of the Sakura Empire."

She gave him another little bow.

"Please take care of me from now on~"

"That's rude!" Akagi protested.

Yuuki couldn't help laughing.

"Pff... You're not a punching bag, Shoukaku."

He looked her over.

"A punching bag isn't pretty."

Shoukaku blinked.

Yuuki smiled.

"You really are."

A faint blush appeared on Shoukaku's cheeks.

"Ehee..."

She bowed again.

"Please treat me well from now on, Shikikan-sama."

Her expression softened.

"I heard your voice before, but now I finally get to meet you properly."

She smiled.

"Please accept me as one of your own."

"I will."

Shoukaku's smile widened.

"Then, once I start leveling, you better pray I don't surpass Akagi-senpai and marry Shikikan-sama first."

Akagi's eyes widened.

"As the flagship of the Fifth Carrier Division, I, Shoukaku, shall do my very best to become as good as those esteemed senpai in the First Carrier Division... or something."

She giggled.

"That last part was on purpose~"

"Kii!"

Akagi playfully hissed.

"Pesky junior!"

Shoukaku laughed and Akagi immediately countered back.

"At least you don't have ears for him to rub and tails to use as a blanket."

Shoukaku suddenly spread her crane wings behind her.

The enormous wings unfurled with a soft rush of feathers.

"My feathers are just as soft as your tails."

She looked toward Yuuki with a playful smile.

"I can wrap Shikikan-sama up in bed like a blanket too."

Akagi's smile disappeared.

Shoukaku's smile widened.

"Shikikan-sama, please make me your favorite."

She paused.

"And treat Zuikaku the same."

The two stared at each other.

For several seconds, neither moved.

The tension between them could practically be seen.

Yorktown and Enterprise simply sighed.

Same old Akagi.

Same old Shoukaku.

Some things apparently never changed.

"Same old, same old."

Another voice joined them.

Zuikaku walked over.

She was tall and slender, with waist-length brown hair highlighted in orange and tied into a high ponytail. Her yellow eyes carried the same orange eyeliner as her sister. She wore a hooded kimono decorated with floral patterns, red strings, and yellow accents, paired with a red hakama skirt, black thigh straps, dark socks, and red-and-silver slippers.

She approached Yuuki and bowed.

"I'm Zuikaku from the Fifth Carrier Division."

She straightened.

"Though I was assigned to the First Carrier Division for a time."

Her expression became proud.

"Together with my sister Shoukaku, we became the last two elite carriers of the Sakura Empire."

She glanced toward Enterprise.

"We triumphed in bitter battles against Lexington, Hornet, and even Enterprise."

Her smile became slightly mischievous.

"That's right. I was even able to severely damage the Grey Ghost herself."

Enterprise slowly lowered her glass.

Zuikaku continued.

"Although she proved to be luckier than me."

She gave a small shrug.

"My service eventually came to an end when Lexington, risen from the dead, sank me."

Her expression became peaceful.

"In the end, I completed my final mission and sank with no regrets."

"Grey Ghost!"

Zuikaku pointed toward Enterprise.

"Our rivalry isn't over yet!"

Enterprise sighed and took another sip of her juice.

"Get to the same level as me, and we'll talk."

Zuikaku puffed her cheeks.

"That's exactly why I need to get stronger!"

She turned toward Yuuki.

"Shikikan-sama, like Takao, I would also like to request a duel with you."

Yuuki raised an eyebrow.

"Another one? Seydlitz just request one from me."

"She described you as a master worthy of becoming your apprentice after you defeated her."

Zuikaku's eyes shone with determination.

"Please take me as one as well."

Yuuki smiled.

"My swordsmanship is quite heavy."

He glanced toward Takao.

"But if you can keep up, I'll gladly train you."

"The Takao sisters have been showing remarkable progress. They've already mastered Ionized Extend."

Zuikaku blinked.

"Ionized Extend?"

"An extension of the blade."

Yuuki gestured toward the sword at his side.

"A katana is normally less than a meter long. With Ionized Extend, you can extend the blade using an ionized energy beam."

His expression became more serious.

"A true master can extend it even farther and enlarge the blade while maintaining control."

Zuikaku's eyes practically sparkled.

"Then, once I've mastered it, maybe I can become your rival!"

Enterprise sighed.

"Please take her, Commander."

She looked exhausted.

"At least she'll be off my back until we're in the same level."

Yuuki chuckled.

Before he could answer, another familiar voice came from behind Zuikaku.

"Zuikaku, behave."

Zuikaku immediately straightened.

"Hai... Kaa-sama."

Yuuki looked toward Houshou, then back at Zuikaku.

"Oh."

He smiled.

"So you're close to Shoukaku."

He paused.

"And quite the mommy's girl, aren't you?"

Zuikaku's cheeks reddened.

"Kaa-sama is important as Shoukaku-nee!"

Houshou smiled gently.

"Yes, she is."

"Hoo, Mama's girl getting cooked, huh?"

A familiar voice came from behind them.

"Hiryuu!"

Zuikaku immediately turned around.

Hiryuu stepped into the group with a playful grin.

She was tall and slender, with long white hair tied into a ponytail and a pair of unmistakable bunny ears atop her head. Her blue eyes were bright beneath a blue forehead protector. She wore a blue onsen-style uniform with white sleeves beneath its loose blue sleeves, a high collar trimmed in white, and white ribbons tied around her shoulders and back. A white shoulderless shirt showed beneath the uniform, secured by a black corset around her waist and a blue tailcoat draped behind it. A blue miniskirt, white socks, blue sneakers, and black fingerless gloves beneath a right-arm gauntlet completed the outfit.

Hiryuu gave Yuuki a casual salute.

"Yo, Shikikan-sama. I'm Hiryuu, a Souryuu-class aircraft carrier."

Yuuki tilted his head.

"Although I'm Souryuu's sister, we're not actually the same type."

Yuuki glanced between the two bunny-eared carriers.

"Not the same type?"

He paused.

"You're both bunnies."

Hiryuu blinked.

"Well..."

She rubbed the back of her head.

"In terms of elegance and practicality."

She gestured toward herself and Souryuu.

"Kind of like Yorktown and Hornet. Similar family, different characteristics."

"Oh."

Yuuki shrugged.

"Not that I mind."

Hiryuu smiled.

Then her expression became more serious.

She walked over to Yorktown and bowed deeply.

"I am really sorry for attacking you back then."

She bowed again.

"Really, really sorry."

Yuuki looked between them.

"Uh... anything I should know?"

Enterprise answered from nearby.

"It was during the Battle of Midway. It's because of Hiryuu and Souryuu that Big Sis ended up hospitalized."

Yuuki's expression changed.

"Oh. They're the reason Hana was out of commission in your story?"

Enterprise nodded.

"Yes."

She took another sip of her juice.

"They were the reason I had to take over until the final battle with Orochi."

Enterprise glanced toward Hiryuu and Souryuu.

"They knew how capable Big Sis was. Taking her out would cripple the leadership of the Eagle Union Shipgirls and the Azur Lane Alliance."

Hiryuu lowered her head.

Yorktown, however, smiled.

"It's been years, Hiryuu."

Hiryuu looked up.

"You were following orders. And you kept apologizing, even back then."

Yorktown reached out and gently placed a hand on Hiryuu's head.

"I've already forgiven you."

"But..."

Hiryuu's rabbit ears drooped.

Yorktown gently stroked them.

"It's already been years."

She smiled.

"And my time recovering gave Enty the chance to lead."

Yorktown glanced toward Enterprise.

"It showed me she didn't need my guidance all the time."

Enterprise smiled faintly.

"Big Sis..."

Another voice joined them.

"She really is a humble one, Shikikan-sama."

Everyone turned.

Souryuu approached with a small smile.

"No idea why."

Souryuu was tall and slender, with waist-length dark-blue hair and long bunny ears. Her blue eyes were framed by round glasses. She wore a dark-green, onsen-style uniform over a white buttoned shirt, with a black corset around her waist and a dark-green pleated skirt. Black thigh-high socks with matching ribbons, silver-and-red slippers, and a black fingerless glove completed her appearance.

She stopped before Yuuki and bowed.

"I can finally properly reintroduce myself to you."

She straightened.

"I am the first regular aircraft carrier of the Sakura Empire."

Her voice carried a quiet pride.

"As such, I served as the prototype for later carrier designs."

She placed a hand against her chest.

"My name is Souryuu, Shikikan-sama."

Then she turned toward Yorktown.

Her expression became solemn.

And she bowed again.

Yorktown sighed softly.

"This again..."

She reached down and gently lifted Souryuu back up.

"I've forgiven you two."

She smiled.

"Please stop bowing. Midway is long gone."

Souryuu hesitated.

"But..."

Hiryuu lowered her head.

"We regretted it every single day."

Yorktown's smile softened.

"Don't worry, okay?"

She looked between them.

"I've long since left those things in the past."

The two carriers looked at her.

"Please forgive us, Yorktown-san."

Yorktown nodded.

"As long as you're both willing to change for the better."

Hiryuu and Souryuu nodded.

Souryuu then looked toward Yuuki.

"Shikikan-sama, who is the secretary of your fleet?"

Yuuki blinked.

"Secretary?"

He paused.

"Now that you mention it..."

Souryuu's eyes brightened.

"If you need a secretary... perhaps I could—"

"Nope."

Souryuu froze.

Yuuki smiled apologetically.

"The secretary needs to be someone well versed in GDI and familiar with how everything operates."

He gestured around the command room.

"That position is currently held by Eva McKenna, the High Secretary of the Global Defense Initiative. It's not a position I can casually give away."

He pointed toward Belfast.

"Belfast is already my personal attendant."

Then toward Yuu.

"Yuu is my second-in-command."

Yuuki paused.

"Actually... now that I think about it, Hana is technically my secretary."

Yorktown blinked.

"Me?"

"You're third-in-command. If Yuu and I are both away, you're the one who can take over."

He smiled.

"Plus, you're kind of my first Shipgirl."

Souryuu nodded slowly.

"Ah... I see."

Yorktown still looked confused.

"The secretary?"

Yuuki nodded.

"Well, you're my first Shipgirl, and you're someone Jarvis can already work with easily."

He gestured toward the rest of the hall.

"The Shipgirls and Nikkes look up to you."

Yorktown opened her mouth.

"But I don't know that much about GDI yet."

"Eva recommended you."

Yuuki smiled.

"Just like she recommended Belfast as my personal maid."

Yorktown stared at him.

"I..."

Anis suddenly leaned over from her seat.

"Well, you technically are our mom."

Yorktown's eyes widened.

"Anis..."

Anis shrugged.

"The Shipgirls respect you a lot and us Nikkes looked up to you."

Enterprise nodded.

"She does."

Yorktown looked toward her.

"Enty..."

Enterprise smiled.

"You technically lead better than I could, Sis."

Yorktown blinked.

"I only had the chance because of Midway. If that hadn't happened, you'd have been the one handling those difficult situations with Orochi."

"Enty."

Yuu, who had been listening quietly, finally spoke.

"Chief and I don't have any objections."

Yorktown looked at her.

"Dr Yuu?"

Yuu smiled.

"Congratulations, Hana."

She gestured toward Yuuki.

"You're now the Secretary of the Earth Division, Global Defense Initiative."

Yorktown stared blankly.

Yuuki added,

"And we can establish a Vice Secretary position for when you're unavailable."

He smiled.

"That position can be assigned to anyone you trust and pass the responsibility to. That position can be rotated to any Shipgirl and Nikkes."

Yorktown slowly looked around the room.

Everyone seemed perfectly satisfied with the decision.

She sighed.

"Why is everyone pushing everything onto me?"

Enterprise laughed.

"Because you're good at it, Sis."

Yorktown buried her face in her hands.

"I knew I shouldn't have asked."

"Pff. Plus, she's the future head wife, after all."

Belfast said it so casually that Yorktown nearly choked.

"Bel!"

The word echoed across the table.

Several of the newly arrived Shipgirls froze.

They looked at Yorktown.

Then at Yuuki.

Then at Belfast.

"Head wife...?"

A few exchanged confused glances.

Apparently, they had not realized that the hierarchy had already been decided.

Belfast simply smiled.

"We're all in agreement, so the position of Secretary should naturally go to you."

Yorktown stared at her.

"You're making it sound like this was already decided!"

"It was."

Belfast answered without hesitation.

Yuuki covered his mouth, trying not to laugh.

Souryuu adjusted her glasses.

"Well, in that case... once I have leveled up enough, perhaps I can apply for the Vice Secretary position and help Yorktown-san."

Yuuki nodded.

"That's certainly possible."

Souryuu smiled.

"Hai, I understand."

She looked toward Yorktown with genuine respect.

"Besides, Yorktown-san should be perfect for the position. She was already the late John Smith's secretary back then. Naturally, all of us respected her."

Hiryuu nodded.

"Especially because she was considered a high-priority target by the Crimson Axis Alliance."

Yuuki looked toward her.

"Because of her leadership?"

"Yes."

Hiryuu's expression became serious.

"Taking Yorktown out would cripple Azur Lane's leadership. That's why we targeted her back then."

Yuuki nodded slowly.

"I see."

He looked toward Yorktown.

"I chose the right person."

A deep, gentle voice came from behind them.

"She is respected even among us, child."

Everyone turned.

Friedrich stood there.

The Iron Blood mother carried herself with the same imposing elegance she always had. Her long dark hair flowed down her back, framing striking red eyes and the small dark horns rising from her head. Her gothic military attire only emphasized her commanding presence.

She smiled warmly at Yuuki.

"Among mothers, that is."

Her gaze shifted toward Houshou.

"Between myself, Houshou, and Hood..."

She gave Yorktown an approving look.

"Perhaps you made a very good decision by favoring her."

Yuuki smiled.

"Oh, Friedrich..."

Friedrich stepped closer.

"You truly can refer to me as your mother, my child."

She leaned slightly toward him.

"Tell me, what is it that you wish for?"

Her smile became almost mischievous.

"Wealth?"

She raised one finger.

"Glory?"

A second.

"Or perhaps eternal youth?"

Yuuki immediately shook his head.

"No, I'd rather not."

Friedrich blinked.

"Wealth is hardly an issue for me. I have enough."

He leaned back.

"And I've got enough glory to last three lifetimes."

He paused.

"Three worlds, even."

His eyes wandered toward the Shipgirls and Nikkes gathered around them.

"Honestly, I'd rather make these girls heroes."

He sighed dramatically.

"That way, I can finally become a useless lazy bum."

Belfast immediately looked at him.

"Master... despite everything, you still want to be a useless lazy bum?"

Yuuki nodded.

"Can I?"

"No."

The answer came instantly.

Yuuki stared at her.

"...Cruel."

Friedrich laughed softly.

"I heard you passed out last night at the village. If you are unable to sleep, my child, allow me to play you a lullaby."

Houshou smiled.

"I can offer you my lap like before."

Yorktown immediately raised her hand.

"No. Commander can rest with me."

Yuuki looked between the three.

Eugen grinned.

"Teddy bear, you've somehow managed to make three fleet mothers compete over you."

She shook her head.

"You really are naughty."

She leaned closer.

"And don't forget your fiancée here. I wanted sweet time with you."

Yuuki pointed helplessly toward the three women.

"Hey! They decided it!"

Friedrich smiled.

Houshou chuckled.

Yorktown looked away with a faint blush.

Eugen only grinned wider.

Meanwhile, Shoukaku, Zuikaku, Hiryuu, and Souryuu had gone strangely quiet.

Their eyes moved toward Yorktown.

Then toward Yuuki.

Then back to Yorktown.

It didn't take a genius to understand what they were thinking.

The position of first wife had apparently already been taken.

And judging by the way their expressions lingered on Yuuki, the thought had not discouraged them in the slightest.

After all, their hearts were already bonded to him.

For now, they were simply watching.

But somewhere in each of their hearts was the same quiet thought.

"Wait... you're all marrying Shikikan-sama?" Souryuu asked, looking between the other Shipgirls with a mixture of surprise and disbelief.

"Ufufu... we are."

Atago joined the conversation with her usual warm smile.

Takao nodded beside her.

"Shikikan-sama's heart is extremely strong when it comes to our wisdom cube bond. And should we marry him, that bond will only become stronger."

She paused.

"But..."

Souryuu tilted her head.

"But?"

Kaga answered calmly.

"Shikikan-sama will only accept our proposal once we reach Level 1000."

Her expression remained serious.

"Besides, we've all agreed that the path toward an oath and marriage only truly opens once Yorktown becomes the first wife."

Souryuu's eyes widened slightly.

Kaga continued.

"And don't bother trying to have a short fling with him. That is simply not how Shikikan-sama operates."

She folded her arms.

"He is extremely strong in his faith and discipline. Casual flings are not something he is interested in."

Hearing that, the newly arrived Shipgirls exchanged glances.

Shoukaku's eyes suddenly lit up.

"It seems we have a rivalry between us after all, Akagi-senpai."

She smiled confidently.

"I'll be sure to reach Level 1000 first and proudly show you my ring."

"Pesky junior!"

Akagi immediately glared at her.

Shoukaku only laughed.

"Pff. It's actually quite nice seeing you like this."

Her smile softened.

"Rather than simply obeying you because I had no choice back then."

Akagi fell silent.

Her ears lowered slightly.

"...Akagi is sorry."

She looked down.

"She knows that not every Sakura Shipgirl liked what she did back then."

"Sure didn't stop you from declaring war on everyone and everything."

Hiryuu raised an eyebrow.

"All for Amagi-san."

Shoukaku blinked.

"Where is she, by the way?"

"Safe back home," Yuuki answered. "Inside a shield containment,"

"Shikikan-sama protected her," Kaga added. "Amagi wanted some peace and quiet afterward. She can hear every word nee-sama say to her, after all."

Shoukaku's expression softened.

"Ah... so that's why."

Kaga nodded.

"Even Nee-sama slapped her for what she did."

Akagi's ears twitched.

"That was necessary."

Hiryuu stared at Akagi for a moment.

"Still... seeing you this calm and friendly is strange."

Akagi sighed.

"Akagi is sorry for what she did back then."

Shoukaku smiled.

"That's no issue, Akagi-senpai."

She paused before adding with a mischievous grin,

"As long as you're prepared to let me marry Shikikan-sama first."

"Kii! Pesky junior!"

Akagi immediately reached toward her.

"Don't think Akagi is going to let you get away with that!"

Shoukaku burst into laughter and slipped away before Akagi could catch her.

The sight left several of the other Shipgirls staring.

Zuikaku slowly turned toward the others.

"Are they always like this?"

"Mostly after the Orochi War and after Amagi-san was revived," Hiryuu replied.

She watched Akagi chase Shoukaku around the room.

"Still... seeing Akagi like this makes me wonder if the version of her back then was just an illusion."

"Agreed."

Hiryuu's words were met by Souryuu's quiet sigh.

"To think I was actually scared of her back then..."

She adjusted her glasses and watched the two senior carriers continue their ridiculous argument.

"Now look at them."

Souryuu shook her head.

"Things really have changed."

"Seeing Akagi and Kaga changed for the better brings peace to my heart. I hope it lasts for a long time."

Houshou smiled softly as she watched Akagi and Kaga bicker with Shoukaku.

Then her expression became strangely thoughtful.

"Still... having a little Houshou of my own is quite tempting."

Yuuki froze.

"Sakura daughters are fine and all, but..." Houshou placed a hand against her cheek, her smile becoming wistful. "Houshou wants a little Houshou of her own."

Yuuki immediately choked on his drink.

"Houshou, please..."

Friedrich, who had been listening nearby, raised an eyebrow.

"Oh, child?"

She smiled mischievously.

"You want to have one with Houshou, but not with me?"

Yuuki nearly dropped his cup.

"That's not what I said!"

"Of course."

Friedrich chuckled.

"I already have many Iron Blood daughters, but wouldn't it be wonderful to have one of my own?"

Her expression softened into genuine longing.

"Hmm... a little Friedrich."

She placed a hand over her heart.

"Ah... how this mother longs for a daughter of her own."

Houshou nodded thoughtfully.

"But can we even conceive?"

The question brought the conversation to an abrupt halt.

Friedrich glanced toward Yuuki.

"Perhaps."

Her smile returned.

"With this child, anything may be possible. If he can make all of this possible... perhaps we have a chance."

Yuuki stared at both women.

"Please, you two. You're thinking far too far ahead."

Yorktown quickly stepped in, trying to bring the conversation back under control.

"Commander prefers that we reach Level 1000 before even considering something like that."

She spoke matter-of-factly.

"That way, our children would have strong parents."

A brief silence followed.

Atago slowly turned toward Yorktown.

"Our children?"

She smiled.

"My, Hana... you're quite bold."

Yorktown's face immediately turned red.

"Eep! I mean... I..."

She waved her hands frantically.

"That's not what I meant!"

Atago giggled.

"Ufufu... but you said it."

Yorktown covered her face.

"Please forget I said anything..."

Yuuki couldn't help but laugh.

The conversation had somehow gone from discussing Akagi's redemption to everyone planning hypothetical children before he could even finish his drink.

Suddenly, two tiny figures popped onto Yuuki's shoulders.

Esche and Oberis.

Esche rested comfortably against his shoulder while Oberis peeked over the other side.

"Hmm... it could be possible, Great Hero."

Esche's eyes sparkled with curiosity.

"Thou art a remarkably strong source of life magic. Thou might even be able to achieve what humans once thought impossible."

Yuuki slowly turned his head toward her.

"Not you two."

He sighed.

Shoukaku's eyes widened.

"Are those fairies?!"

She stared at the tiny beings in amazement.

"Zuikaku! Real fairies!"

Esche giggled before fluttering away from Yuuki's shoulder.

A trail of silver, glittering energy followed her as she flew across the room and gently landed in Shoukaku's open palms.

Oberis followed shortly after, fluttering toward Zuikaku and settling gracefully in her hands.

Shoukaku stared at Esche as though she had just discovered an entirely new world.

Esche gave a tiny bow.

"Yes, we are."

She gestured toward herself.

"Telperion Tree Fairy, Esche."

Then she pointed toward her sister.

"And this is my humble sister, Oberis, Fairy of the Laurelin Tree."

Oberis smiled politely.

"Greetings, new Shipgirls."

She glanced toward Yuuki.

"We are currently following the Great Hero as his fairies."

Esche nodded enthusiastically.

"Plus, he possesses an extremely abundant source of mana."

Zuikaku blinked.

"Mana?"

"Magical energy," Oberis explained.

Her expression became almost dreamy.

"And his mana is extremely sweet."

Yuuki's eyebrow twitched.

"Please don't describe my mana like it's dessert."

Esche giggled.

"But it is."

Yuuki sighed.

"Wait."

He looked between the two fairies.

"You two actually use my mana?"

"Yes."

Oberis answered without hesitation.

"We no longer need to depend entirely upon the trees. We can siphon magical energy directly from thee."

She smiled.

"Thy supply is extraordinarily abundant."

Esche nodded.

"Far more than we could ever obtain from the trees alone."

Yuuki stared at them.

"And you're just casually draining my energy?"

"Only a little."

Esche held her fingers close together.

"Very little."

Oberis nodded.

"We do not wish to take too much. Still thou has a lot of magical energy, surely thou can spare some for thy fairies."

Then her expression became more serious.

"However, should other fairies discover such an abundant source of magical energy..."

Esche finished the thought.

"They might all come looking for thee."

Yuuki immediately frowned.

"Great. Exactly what I needed."

Shoukaku gently lifted Esche closer to her face.

"So fairies really exist..."

Zuikaku looked down at Oberis resting in her palms.

"And they use magic like Kaguya and Irisviel."

The other Shipgirls had also begun staring at Yuuki.

Yorktown narrowed her eyes.

"Wait."

Her gaze shifted from the fairies to Yuuki.

"You're magical too?"

Several other girls looked at him.

Yuuki rubbed the back of his head.

"I am."

The room went quiet.

"I just never wanted to rely on magic."

He glanced at Esche and Oberis before looking back at the others.

"I'll show you one day."

Yorktown crossed her arms.

"One day?"

Yuuki smiled innocently.

"Yes."

A collective groan came from the Shipgirls.

They clearly weren't going to let him forget that promise anytime soon.

Hiryuu and Souryuu continued staring at the two fairies, their curiosity written plainly across their faces.

"My... fairies."

A familiar voice drew their attention.

Irisviel had arrived alongside Kaguya, her dark red eyes immediately lighting up at the sight of Esche and Oberis.

"Living magical beings!"

Esche fluttered toward her, studying her with curiosity.

"Ah, a fellow Arcane."

She smiled as she landed on Iris's palm.

"Thou possess thine own magical powers. Thy magical energy is quite similar to Kaguya's."

Irisviel's eyes widened.

"Really?"

Esche nodded.

"We can help thee mature it, much as we did with Kaguya, should thou wish it."

Irisviel smiled.

"Really? Then, if thou dost not mind... please help this humble one mature her magical energy."

Her expression became hopeful.

"This humble one is an Arcane, yet I have never had the opportunity to properly develop my abilities. Plus, this humble one didn't wish to be a simple four-star mage."

She looked down at her hands.

"Perhaps, one day, I might even step into the realm of a Five-Star Mage."

Kaguya smiled warmly.

"This wife shall help thee, Iris."

She placed a hand gently on Irisviel's shoulder.

"Besides, our husband-to-be promised to show thee his ideas for developing thy string magic."

Irisviel's eyes sparkled.

"Aye. This humble one remembers."

Hiryuu looked between Irisviel, Kaguya, and the two fairies.

"I have to admit... I'm a little jealous that Arcane Shipgirls can use magic."

She folded her arms, her bunny ears drooping slightly.

"Just look at them. Kaguya can manipulate her strings, Irisviel already has her own magical abilities, and now they even have fairies helping them."

Souryuu adjusted her glasses, watching Esche and Oberis carefully.

"Yes. I wish we could use it as well."

Her eyes narrowed thoughtfully.

"Imagine being able to combine magical abilities with our aircraft."

Hiryuu's eyes immediately lit up.

"Exactly!"

She pointed toward Souryuu.

"Imagine a magical carrier!"

Souryuu paused.

"...You mean giving our aircraft magical enhancements?"

"Or magical barriers!"

Hiryuu became increasingly enthusiastic.

"Or enchanting our planes so they can move faster!"

Souryuu's expression softened into a thoughtful smile.

"Perhaps magical ammunition as well."

Hiryuu nodded vigorously.

"Now you're thinking!"

Yuu, who had been listening nearby, smiled.

"You could."

Both sisters immediately turned toward her.

"Really?"

Yuu nodded.

"Eventually."

She raised a finger.

"Though you probably won't reach the same level of magical power as Kaguya and Irisviel."

Hiryuu's ears perked up.

"But we'd still be able to use magic?"

"Yes."

Yuu smiled.

"With enough development, you should be able to qualify as mages."

Souryuu's eyes gleamed behind her glasses.

"So... we could become magical Shipgirls?"

Yuu nodded.

"That's the idea."

Souryuu looked down at her hands.

"To think... we could actually wield magic ourselves."

She glanced toward Irisviel.

"I always thought Arcane Shipgirls were simply born with something fundamentally different from us."

Irisviel smiled gently.

"Perhaps we are simply born with the potential. The rest must still be nurtured."

Hiryuu looked toward Yuuki.

"So, Commander... you're telling us there's actually a way?"

Yuuki glanced over from across the room.

"You could, if we can develop a small mana core inside your Wisdom Cubes."

Both sisters stared at him.

"A mana core?" Souryuu repeated.

Yuuki nodded.

"It would allow your Wisdom Cubes to generate mana and let you develop magical abilities."

Hiryuu's eyes practically sparkled.

"So we'd have our own source of magic?"

"That's the theory."

Yuuki raised a finger.

"But we'd have to study your Wisdom Cubes carefully first. I don't want to force something into them without understanding how your bodies would react."

Souryuu immediately nodded.

"Of course. Safety first."

Hiryuu grinned.

"But once it's safe..."

She clenched her fist.

"I want magic."

Souryuu smiled.

"And I would like to study it properly."

She looked toward Irisviel.

"Perhaps you could teach us some basic magical theory once you've developed your own abilities further."

Irisviel nodded eagerly.

"Aye. This humble one would be honored."

Hiryuu's bunny ears perked up again.

"Then it's settled!"

She pointed at Yuuki.

"I'm holding you to that, Commander."

Souryuu adjusted her glasses.

"Indeed. You did promise to show us how magical powers work."

Yuuki sighed.

"I really should stop promising things in front of everyone."

Kaguya giggled.

"Too late, dearest."

Esche and Oberis laughed as well.

Hiryuu crossed her arms with a satisfied smile.

"Too late indeed."

Souryuu nodded.

"Once we become mages, I expect proper training."

Yuuki stared at them.

"...We'll see that in the future. You need to achieved at least Level 600 so we can begin magical retrofit."

Hiryuu wonders.

"That long?"

"Yes, you need to undergo Retrofit at level 200 then GDI Retrofit at level 400. your wisdom cube matures to that level and installed with GDI Retrofit before Yuu can apply her mana conversion process. At Level 600, Yuu and I planned to install magical retrofit to your girls to finally allowing you to use magical powers. For the shipgirls built with small magical core, the retrofit will increase your magical powers. This is necessary so your magical powers didn't go haywired.

Souryuu gave a small, amused smile.

"I suppose we should thank you in advance, Commander."

Yuuki could only sigh as the two sisters exchanged excited glances.

Esche and Oberis laughed as well.

"Elder Esche. Elder Oberis."

Two familiar voices drew everyone's attention.

Albion and Centaur approached, followed by Mecklenburg and Hindenburg. The two Royal Navy carriers had been speaking with Duke of York earlier, as all three were fellow elves.

Centaur and Albion had also learned about the fairies' magical teachings. Their natural magical abilities were currently equivalent to roughly a Two-Star Mage, with the promise that, through proper cultivation and guidance, they could eventually develop them to the Three-Star level.

Now, properly uniformed and fully recovered, both Royal Navy elves approached Yuuki and bowed respectfully.

Centaur stepped forward first.

"Lord Commander, please allow me to properly reintroduce myself."

She smiled warmly.

"As I said before, it did not feel proper to introduce myself while I was not yet wearing my beloved uniform."

She straightened proudly.

"I am Centaur, at your service. Commander, I swear to follow the examples of my Elders and strive for greatness once more, starting today!"

Her long blonde hair flowed gently behind her, seemingly caught in an ever-present breeze. Her elaborate white-and-blue naval dress combined the elegance of Royal Navy attire with delicate, almost elven features, while pearl-like details and translucent elements gave the outfit an ethereal appearance.

Behind her, her distinctive bow-shaped rigging rested in place, its structure resembling a naval launch deck.

Albion stepped forward next.

"Greetings, Lord Commander. I am the Royal Navy light carrier, Albion."

She gave a graceful bow.

"I was constructed alongside Centaur after that great war, and I was among the first aircraft carriers to employ newly developed tactics."

Her long, light-colored hair framed her elegant features, while her refined Royal Navy attire combined the appearance of a noblewoman and a maid. The sophisticated dress, formal trims, sleeves, and carefully designed details made her look every bit the dignified Royal Navy elf she was.

Yuuki smiled at both of them.

"Well, thank you for reintroducing yourselves in all your glory—and as healthy as you are now."

Centaur and Albion exchanged a pleased glance.

They had technically already introduced themselves earlier.

But that had been before their recovery.

Before they had proper uniforms.

Before they could stand proudly without the weight of their past condition hanging over them.

Now, they could finally introduce themselves as they truly wished to be seen.

Centaur smiled brightly.

"Thank you, Lord Commander."

Albion nodded.

"Yes. It feels much better this way."

Duke of York watched them with a faint smile.

"Indeed. They were rather insistent about doing this properly."

Centaur puffed out her chest proudly.

"Of course! A proper introduction should be made at one's best!"

Albion gave a small laugh.

"I believe she practiced hers several times."

"Albion!"

The light carrier merely smiled.

Yuuki chuckled.

"I'm glad you're both feeling well enough to enjoy yourselves."

Centaur and Albion exchanged another smile.

For the first time in a long while, they weren't introducing themselves as damaged survivors.

They were introducing themselves as Royal Navy Shipgirls, elves, and proud members of GDI.

"Great Wizard!"

Mecklenburg suddenly called out, practically bouncing with excitement.

Her long, vibrant pink hair swayed behind her as she hurried toward Yuuki, her striking blue eyes shining with anticipation. The horns on her head only added to her mischievous appearance, while her sleek black-and-white attire and dark, gothic mechanical equipment made her look like a strange combination of sorceress and advanced war machine.

"You promised!"

She pointed accusingly at Yuuki.

"I am all healthy now! When are we going to use the flying broomstick?"

Yuuki sighed.

"Fine... fine."

He raised his hands in surrender.

"Tomorrow, during my training session with the Takao sisters. I'll show you how to use them, Mecklenburg."

Mecklenburg's eyes practically sparkled.

"I am so excited!"

She looked ready to start jumping on the spot.

Yuuki couldn't help but smile.

"Just remember, flying a broom isn't as easy as it looks."

"I'll master it!"

Her confidence was immediate.

Before Yuuki could respond, another voice interrupted them.

"Contractor."

Hindenburg stood nearby, her striking red eyes fixed upon him. Her long crimson hair fell around her shoulders, with a single ahoge sticking up prominently. Pointed ears, small devil horns, and the subtle presence of demonic wings and a tail completed her imposing appearance.

Her predominantly black outfit, decorated with frills and corset-like details, emphasized her gothic aesthetic, while her massive mechanical rigging carried the unmistakable silhouette of a dark dragon.

"When are we finalizing the contract?"

Yuuki blinked.

"Contract?"

He looked genuinely confused.

"How do we even do that?"

Hindenburg didn't hesitate.

She stepped forward and pressed her lips against his.

The room immediately fell silent.

Several Shipgirls stared at them.

Hindenburg pulled away with a satisfied expression.

"Consider yourself contracted to this demon."

She folded her arms.

"As long as you prove your might and do not bore me, I shall obey the contract we have made."

Yuuki stared at her for a moment.

"Oh..."

He rubbed his lips.

"I thought there would be some sort of blood exchange or something."

Friedrich immediately chuckled.

"Pff... it is merely an excuse, child."

She shook her head fondly.

"She is quite childish to think herself a demon."

Hindenburg turned toward her.

"Mother, I am a demon."

"Of course you are."

Friedrich gave her an amused smile.

"Or perhaps you simply invented this contract as an excuse to bind yourself to him."

She gestured toward Yuuki.

"He is already bound to all of us. Contract or no contract."

Hindenburg remained completely serious.

"I merely wanted to make it official."

Yuuki smiled helplessly.

"A simple confession would have been nice."

"Silence."

Hindenburg stepped closer, her expression stern.

"You are now contracted to me. You will entertain me from now on."

Yuuki shrugged.

"I'll see what I can do."

He paused.

"If I'm not busy."

Hindenburg stared at him.

For a moment, she looked genuinely offended.

Then Mecklenburg burst out laughing.

"Great Wizard! You really aren't afraid of her!"

Yuuki glanced toward Hindenburg.

"Should I be?"

Hindenburg's lips curved into a faint smile.

"Perhaps."

Mecklenburg giggled.

"I knew it! Great Wizard isn't afraid of anything!"

Friedrich simply shook her head, watching the two of them.

"Children..."

Hindenburg glanced at Yuuki again.

"Do not forget, Contractor. You are mine now."

Yuuki sighed.

"Yes, yes. Your contract has been acknowledged."

Mecklenburg immediately raised her hand.

"Does that mean I can make a contract too?"

Yuuki's eyes widened.

"No."

"Why?!"

"Because I'm already busy enough."

Mecklenburg puffed out her cheeks.

"Unfair!"

Friedrich laughed softly.

"Indeed. You have created quite a troublesome group around yourself, child."

Yuuki looked around the room at the Shipgirls, Nikkes, fairies, elves, mages, and now an overly enthusiastic self-proclaimed demon.

He sighed.
