Warmth, it was the first thing I felt.
The blanket was wrapped tightly around me, trapping the last of the night's warmth as golden morning light slipped through the gaps in the curtains, painting soft lines across the bedroom wall.
I let out a content sigh, stretching beneath the blanket until every muscle protested.
For the first time in what felt like forever...
I felt rested.
A sleepy smile tugged at my lips as I rolled over, instinctively reaching for the space beside me.
My hand landed on cool sheets.
Empty.
I frowned.
"Ryan...?"
Silence.
He must've already gotten up.
The memories of last night crept into my mind before I could stop them.
His smile.
His laugh.
The way he'd looked at me like I was the only person in the world.
The way he'd waited... Waited until I was ready.
Heat rushed straight into my cheeks.
"Oh my God..."
I buried my face into the pillow, letting out an embarrassed groan before kicking my legs beneath the blanket like an idiot.
