Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Poisonous Strategy and an Unexpected Ally

Kael woke up early, his mind already set on reaching the village. However, before arriving at his destination, he decided to gather the Poisonous Mushrooms he had spotted near the cliff, calculating that they might serve a purpose later. After collecting them, he resumed his journey. Suddenly, his sharp senses picked up strange noises. He followed the sound to investigate and discovered a horse-drawn carriage besieged by monsters. Activating his [Analysis Eye], he immediately identified the creatures' traits.

Kael addressed the system: "System, what are my chances of winning?"

[ SYSTEM CALCULATION ]

Target Count: 6

Kael's Current Agility: 13

Kael's Current Intelligence: 20

Estimated Victory Rate: 94.2% (If [Paralysis Spore] from the poisonous mushrooms is applied to the spear: 99.8%).

Upon learning this, Kael immediately took one of the mushrooms, crushed it with a stone, and coated the tip of his spear with the poison. He formulated a plan: the largest one was likely the leader, so he would begin by eliminating the leader on the right. Kael charged. The leader lunged at him, but Kael—having already calculated the trajectory—dodged to the side effortlessly. Maintaining his momentum, he drove his spear deep into the imp's abdomen. The poison took effect instantly; the leader collapsed and vanished in a cloud of black smoke. Five imps remained, but they were no match for Kael. He successfully eliminated all of them and reached Level 4.

He approached the carriage, where an old man stood waiting. "Hello, I am Kael. What is your name?" Kael asked. The old man replied, "My name is Haldor." When Kael inquired about his presence there, Haldor explained he was a merchant. He thanked Kael profusely and offered his assistance: "I can do whatever you need." Kael mentioned that he was hungry and had no place to stay. Haldor made an offer: "Come and stay at my house for as long as you like. After all, you saved my life." Before answering, Kael considered the strategic advantage: "If I go to his house, I can gather more information about this world and secure a steady supply of food." He accepted the offer and boarded the carriage.

As they headed toward Haldor's home, Kael watched the passing landscape, his mind already spinning with possibilities. "I wonder," he thought, "what kind of adventures—and what kind of power—await me in this world?"
