Just then, another voice called out to Rudy from the restaurant entrance. "I just heard the precinct rumors that you resigned this morning! Is that true?"
The man walking toward their booth was Commissioner Vane, who had officially retired the previous evening.
Rudy furrowed his brow in deep annoyance. "Why are we constantly getting disturbed today?"
Rudy quickly briefed Vane on the situation regarding Ben's guild revival. The story immediately piqued Vane's curiosity.
"I will join the guild as well," Vane decided instantly, pulling up another chair. "Retirement is nowhere near as fun or relaxing as I thought it would be. I am already bored."
Rudy scoffed, shaking his head. "It has not even been twenty-four hours since you retired, Vane. How can you possibly be feeling bored already?"
With that sudden, unexpected influx of veteran talent, the new guild already boasted six official members, including Solomon and Iris, although they wouldn't be present for daily operations.
