Lord Jian arrived in the courtyard a few moments later, accompanied by a small retinue of servants. They led two armored warhorses and a spacious wooden carriage pulled by a massive, scaled spirit beast.
"The provisions are packed," Jian announced, gesturing to the transport.
"We will not be needing the carriage," Gideon informed the older royal. "We are taking the direct route through the Whispering Wilds. Please arrange for two additional horses instead."
Jian blinked in surprise but immediately signaled his servants to fetch the extra mounts.
Once the four horses were lined up on the cobblestones, Gideon turned his attention back to the silver-haired boy. "Solomon, do you at least know how to mount a horse properly?"
Solomon puffed his chest out and offered a highly confident grin. "Of course I do."
He absolutely did not.
