That night, everyone was laughing and having fun at the ball, while I was locked inside my room, sad and alone, thinking that if my mom were alive, she would have made sure I wasn't alone… right?
I was really sad and in pain. My wolf was crying from the rejection he got from his real mate, but there was something inside me that made me hate my family—maybe it was the pain, or being neglected, or something worse. I don't know yet, but I know one thing: my dad will never be my hero ever again. So that night, I sneaked out of my room. No one cared anyway. I walked into the forest near our pack, in my purple wolf form, which was rare—so rare that no one knew about it yet, maybe not even me. I kept running through the fields to control my loneliness, running so far that I didn't realize I had entered a rival pack—the Aetherion.
My dad hates this family because there is a rivalry going on between both our families for centuries, and it's still ongoing. I felt scared as I looked around their forest. No one was there. It was beautiful and quiet. Even though I was scared, I wanted to look around. I walked in my wolf form until I saw a lake. It was so beautiful, and I felt like it was calling me. I sat on the edge of a stone in my wolf form, looking at my reflection in the water, lost in my thoughts. Then I heard a sound. I quickly changed into my human form and, even though I was a boy, I was curvy, slim, and breathtaking. I took advantage of my slim figure and hid behind a stone.
Then I saw him.
Noctryx Aetherion.
He was the fourth son of his father, Alex Aetherion, and he was known for his ruthless behavior and his ego, because he was a rare Enigma—stronger than even a Rare Alpha combined—and that made him even more powerful.
I saw him clearly now. He was 6'8, so tall. He had ocean-blue eyes, perfect to get lost in, but they were cold and ruthless right now. He was neither too fair nor too dark. He had a sharp nose and a muscular body, with black hair perfectly styled. He was standing in front of the river. His pheromones smelled like sandalwood—perfect—but mixed with something darker: burnt amber with cold rain, making him feel dangerously strong and intelligent. I was frozen in my place, staring at him from my hidden spot. He hadn't noticed me yet, which was surprising, and I silently thanked the Moon Goddess for that.
I thought to walk away, but the moment I moved even an inch, he heard it instantly. I froze in my spot. And when I saw those cold blue eyes looking into the water… they looked lonely, like he was hiding it behind cold walls.
My wolf felt a sudden pull toward him. I couldn't understand why, so I stayed hidden, watching him from my spot until he fell asleep near the riverside, looking untouchable—like no one would ever dare to go near him. I remained hidden for two hours, waiting until he was in a deep sleep.
Slowly, I stepped out of my hiding place and walked toward him—not too close, but not too far either. I looked at him, confused as my wolf behaved differently, something I still couldn't understand. So I just stood there, watching him for a few minutes before taking out a piece of paper and writing a note.
Those ocean-blue eyes would look magnificent if they were filled with love.—From Purple
I placed the note on a rock near his hand and quietly walked away, leaving his territory without looking back.
I had a feeling I might meet him again soon… or maybe something stronger was waiting for me in the future. It felt like there was some kind of connection between us. He didn't even sense my presence—I still don't understand how—and yet my wolf was behaving strangely. I felt happy by his scent. I didn't know what it meant, or what was going to happen next.
Maybe he might bring me a kind of spring… something happy, warm, and comforting.
