Chapter 12 - Chapter 12:A New Country , An Unspoken Feeling

Man Bahadur looked at them gently and replied,

"Your brother is with Father's friend.

We hid the truth from you because we wanted to hear the truth from your own mouths.

Perhaps you thought you had grown up enough to handle everything on your own, but to us, you are still children.

That is why hiding the truth from us was a great mistake.

No matter what kind of situation life brings, make it a habit to speak with us.

Never hide such serious matters again."

Then he added softly,

"If I had not overheard your conversation, your brother would still be in jail even now.

That is why truth should never be delayed.

If you are not at fault, we will not scold you ,we will stand beside you."

He paused for a moment and then smiled faintly.

"To be honest, I really feel like scolding you for what you did.

But what is the point of scolding those who are leaving tomorrow?

Now go inside and prepare for your journey."

He then called his son Prashant and asked him to return home.

After hearing all this, the hearts of Swarna and Prashna finally felt at peace.

The news that their brother had been released filled them both with relief and happiness.

Now, the time to leave had finally arrived.

Early the next morning, all three of them got ready to depart.

Priya and Man Bahadur lovingly placed tika on their foreheads and fed each of them a spoonful of curd as a blessing for a safe journey.

They also informed them that once they reached Canada, one of their father's friends would be there at the airport to receive them.

After a short while, everyone left for Tribhuvan International Airport.

Priya and Man Bahadur came along to see them off.

As they waited for the flight time, every passing moment made their hearts more restless.

The pain of leaving home began to settle deep within them.

Even Priya and Man Bahadur struggled to hold themselves together.

Still, they tried to give courage to the children.

"In life, there come many moments when we must stay far from those we love.

Even I once lived ten years away from my own mother.

Sometimes, to gain something precious, we must lose something for a while."

Just then, the announcement echoed through the airport:

"All passengers, please proceed to board. The flight will depart in five minutes."

Man Bahadur turned to Swarna, Prashna, and Prashant.

"Quickly, go board the plane."

They began walking toward the aircraft.

But for them, that moment was unbearably difficult.

They turned back once more, rushed toward Priya and Man Bahadur, and embraced them tightly.

"We will return soon," they whispered.

Then, with trembling steps, they walked toward the plane again.

As the children, who had never truly stayed far from home, now left not only their house but their entire country, Priya and Man Bahadur could no longer control their emotions.

After some time, the news came from the airport that the flight to Canada had departed.

Only then did Priya and Man Bahadur begin their journey back home.

Inside the plane, all three of them began missing home deeply.

Swarna quietly started crying.

Suddenly, she remembered that she had forgotten to call her family back in the village before leaving.

The regret weighed heavily on her heart.

She decided that the very first thing she would do after landing would be to call home.

Slowly, Swarna looked out through the plane window.

For the first time, she truly felt that her dream of seeing the world was beginning to come true.

A soft smile appeared on her lips as she gazed at the beautiful mountains, the rolling hills, and the breathtaking view of Kathmandu below.

Lost in that magical scenery, she drifted into her own world of dreams.

After some time, they finally arrived at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

For Swarna, that moment felt golden.

She had finally arrived in the new city she had always dreamed of — a place where millions of people came carrying their biggest hopes.

Everything around her looked strangely familiar, almost exactly as she had once imagined it.

Prashant and Prashna were equally excited by the new place.

They began looking for the people their father had sent to receive them.

Waiting there for them were Man Bahadur's dear friend, Santosh, along with his two sons.

To make things easier in the crowded airport, they were holding a welcome card with the names of all three written clearly on it.

Because of that, Swarna, Prashna, and Prashant were able to spot them immediately.

Santosh's son, Ayan, had already seen their photographs sent from Nepal.

Recognizing them, he smiled and gestured,

"Come this way."

As they approached, Santosh's other son, Ayush, stepped forward holding a bouquet of flowers.

He welcomed them warmly by handing them the bouquet.

After that, all three respectfully greeted their uncle.

Soon, everyone got into Santosh's car and headed toward his apartment.

On the way, they began talking.

Santosh asked lovingly about everyone back home.

Prashant replied that everyone was doing well.

Then Santosh said,

"Now all of you will be studying at the same university.

So from now on, start talking to each other and become good friends."

Soon, Swarna, Prashna, Prashant, Ayan, and Ayush all began introducing themselves.

Ayan and Ayush, however, could not speak Nepali very well.

Because of that, everyone naturally began speaking in English.

Their uncle smiled and said,

"Now it is your duty to teach these two plenty of Nepali."

Prashant laughed and replied,

"Of course, that can be done."

After some time, they reached the apartment.

Their uncle asked them to rest in the guest room for a while.

Soon, it was time for dinner.

Uncle called everyone to eat.

Before joining them, Swarna quickly called her parents in the village and informed them that she had safely arrived abroad.

By the time she joined the others, everyone was already seated, and the food had been ordered from outside.

Because of the long journey and the poor meal on the flight, they were all extremely hungry.

So everyone quickly began eating.

After dinner, Uncle said,

"There is still one or two weeks left before your college begins.

So until then, all of you stay here.

After that, I will return to Nepal, and you will all need to stay in the hostel and continue your studies."

Then he turned to Ayan and Ayush.

"Until college starts, take your new friends around Canada."

After eating, everyone went to rest.

The next morning, because they were still tired from the long journey and had no work to do, Swarna, Prashant, and Prashna slept late.

Ayan woke up early and made tea for everyone.

After a while, they all gathered and enjoyed the tea he had prepared.

Later, they all sat together and spent some time doing crafts.

Once they finished, Ayan suggested,

"Why don't we go out somewhere today?"

Everyone happily agreed.

Soon, Ayan took them to see one of Canada's greatest wonders — Niagara Falls.

The sight was breathtaking.

One of the main attractions of Canada, it looked no less than heaven itself.

Ayush began explaining the beauty of the falls.

"If you truly want to enjoy the thrill of this place, the nature, the parks, and the hiking trails, you must stay here for at least two days."

Ayan immediately agreed.

"We don't have college yet anyway. What would we even do at home? Let's stay here for two or three days and enjoy ourselves."

Everyone liked the idea.

So they decided to stay near the falls for a few days.

They checked into Tower Hotel at Fallsview.

From the hotel, the mist surrounding the falls looked mesmerizing.

The view was enough to enchant anyone.

Everyone was delighted by the beauty around them.

Yet, among them all, Swarna did not seem as cheerful as the others.

After dinner, they all went together to a restaurant, enjoyed drinks, and relaxed.

Ayan also told them about the famous breweries and distilleries nearby.

That night, they spent their time admiring the dazzling view, tasting local food, and enjoying every moment.

Yet beneath the joy of the night, something mysterious still lingered quietly within Swarna's heart.
