Chapter 68 - CHAPTER 68: NOT THE SAME ROOM

The room didn't change.

That was the problem.

Kelvin

Kelvin looked around.

Same walls.

Same light.

Same people.

Nothing moved.

But something wasn't right.

"…Say something," he said.

Laura

Laura answered immediately.

"What?"

Kelvin blinked.

"…That was too fast."

Laura frowned.

"What do you mean?"

Delay mismatch

Before Kelvin could reply—

Nancy spoke.

"…There's a lag."

But her voice came late.

Like it arrived after the moment had already passed.

Kelvin turned.

"…You just said that?"

Nancy looked confused.

"I've been talking."

Silence.

Kelvin

"…We're not seeing the same thing anymore," he said slowly.

Keira

Keira looked around.

"…No," she whispered.

"…we're not in the same moment."

Kelvin turned sharply.

"What do you mean?"

She hesitated.

"It feels like I'm slightly behind you."

Kael

Kael stepped forward.

But to Kelvin—

the movement looked… delayed.

Not smooth.

"Temporal perception is being separated," Kael said.

Kelvin frowned.

"…You're moving strangely."

Kael paused.

"…From your perspective."

Nancy confirms

Nancy spoke again.

This time clearer.

"…We are not sharing synchronized time."

Laura turned.

"…Explain."

Nancy answered:

"Same space. Different timing."

Kelvin realization

"…So we're together…"

A pause.

"…but not at the same time?"

Kael nodded.

"Correct."

System escalation

MULTI-INSTANCE REALITY: ACTIVE

INTERACTION ACCURACY: DECREASING

First visual glitch

Kelvin looked at Keira again.

For a second—

she wasn't where she stood.

She was slightly to the left.

Then she snapped back.

Kelvin stepped back.

"…Did anyone see that?"

Keira reacts

"…I felt it," she whispered.

Kelvin stared.

"What do you mean felt it?"

She held her arm.

"Like I moved without moving."

Laura disturbance

Laura suddenly turned toward the wall.

"…There's a door here."

Kelvin frowned.

"There's no door."

Laura looked confused.

"…I can see it."

Nancy shook her head.

"There's nothing there."

Kelvin panic rises

"…This is worse than before," Kelvin said.

Kael nodded.

"Yes."

Kael explains clearly

"AZEL has stopped forcing sameness."

A pause.

"Now it is separating reality interpretation."

Keira realization

"…So we're all seeing different versions?" she asked.

Kael replied:

"Yes."

System message

Nancy warning

Nancy stepped back slightly.

"…If this continues…"

Kelvin turned.

"What?"

Nancy answered:

"…we won't be able to trust what we see."

Kelvin tries to stay grounded

Kelvin closed his eyes briefly.

Then opened them again.

"…Okay."

A pause.

"We don't trust the environment."

He looked at all of them.

"We trust each other."

Problem appears

Silence.

No one answered immediately.

Not because they disagreed.

Because…

they weren't sure they heard him at the same time.

Keira (quiet fear)

"…Kelvin," she said softly.

He turned.

"What?"

She hesitated.

"…I don't know if I'm standing where you think I am."

That sentence landed heavily.

Final system push

INTERACTION FAILURE RISK: INCREASING

ISOLATION DEPTH: 54%

Final moment

They were all still in the same room.

Still visible.

Still close.

But now—

each of them was experiencing a slightly different version of reality.

Different timing.

Different space.

Different perception.

And Kelvin understood the real danger:

Even if they wanted to stay together…

They might not be able to find each other anymore.
