Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: Creator of the System

The sky above the Citadel remained torn open.

Darkness spilled through the crack in space like an endless ocean. The stars beyond it were disappearing one by one, swallowed by something that moved slowly through the void.

Steni stood at the center of the ruined battlefield, her eyes glowing with streams of white code. The Administrator Interface hovered in front of her, thousands of system alerts flashing across it.

Beside her, Andrian stared upward at the massive darkness spreading across the sky.

"…Steni," he said quietly.

"Please tell me that thing isn't alive."

Steni didn't answer immediately.

Her gaze remained locked on the system data scrolling in front of her.

Millions of lines of information.

Coordinates of collapsing galaxies.

Signals from destroyed worlds.

Civilizations that had vanished in seconds.

Then the system finished analyzing the entity.

A single message appeared.

[ENTITY IDENTIFIED]

THE DEVOURER

Andrian swallowed.

"That name doesn't sound friendly."

Before Steni could respond, every system window across the world flickered violently.

A new message appeared.

But this one did not come from the system.

[UNKNOWN ENTITY TRANSMISSION]

The message expanded slowly.

Every Host in existence saw it.

Every dungeon stopped.

Every battle froze.

Every player stared at the same words.

Then the message appeared.

"Administrator Steni…"

"You finally woke up."

The air went completely silent.

Andrian's expression froze.

"…What?"

He slowly turned toward Steni.

"Did that thing just… say your name?"

Steni's eyes widened slightly.

Her administrator interface was going wild.

The system was searching through ancient files.

Locked archives.

Data older than the Overseers themselves.

Then another message appeared.

"You built this system."

Andrian laughed nervously.

"Okay… that's definitely wrong."

He pointed at Steni.

"She didn't build anything. She was barely surviving quests two weeks ago."

But Steni didn't respond.

Because something new had appeared in her interface.

A file.

One that had never existed before.

[CREATOR LOG DETECTED]

Owner: Steni

Access Level: Administrator

Her hands trembled slightly.

"That's… impossible."

Andrian frowned.

"What is it?"

She pointed at the file.

"The system says… this belongs to me."

He blinked.

"You mean like a system bug?"

Steni hesitated.

"…I don't think so."

Then she opened the file.

The world around them faded.

A holographic projection formed in the air.

A laboratory appeared.

Not modern.

Not ancient.

Something far more advanced than anything humanity had ever built.

Machines filled the massive room.

Stars floated inside transparent spheres.

Entire galaxies rotated inside glass containers.

And at the center of the laboratory stood a woman.

She looked directly at the recording device.

Her hair was the same color.

Her eyes were the same shape.

Her face was identical.

Andrian's jaw dropped.

"…Steni?"

The woman in the recording began to speak.

Her voice echoed through the ruins of the Citadel.

"If this recording is playing… then the worst has happened."

"My name is Dr. Steni Arka."

"I am the creator of the System."

Andrian slowly turned toward the Steni standing beside him.

"…Please tell me that's just a coincidence."

Steni couldn't move.

Her eyes were locked on the hologram.

The woman continued speaking.

"The Devourer has found our universe."

"For centuries we searched for a way to stop it."

"Every civilization we observed ended the same way."

"Extinction."

The laboratory projection shifted.

Images appeared behind the woman.

Planets burning.

Stars collapsing.

Entire galaxies being consumed by an enormous darkness.

Andrian felt a chill.

"That's the same thing we're seeing now…"

The recording continued.

"We realized that humanity was not strong enough."

"So we created the System."

"A machine designed to accelerate evolution."

"To create warriors capable of fighting the Devourer."

Steni whispered quietly.

"The Hosts…"

Andrian nodded slowly.

"…They're soldiers."

But the recording wasn't finished.

Dr. Steni's expression became more serious.

"But the Overseers betrayed the mission."

"They seized control of the System."

"They turned it into a tool of control instead of evolution."

"So I made a final decision."

The laboratory alarms began flashing in the recording.

Warning lights filled the room.

The Devourer's shadow appeared beyond the laboratory windows.

The universe outside was collapsing.

Dr. Steni looked directly at the camera.

"I erased my own memories."

"I inserted my consciousness back into the System."

"And I reincarnated as a Host."

Andrian felt his brain stop working.

"…Wait."

"…You did WHAT?"

The recording finished its final message.

"If you are watching this, then it means you succeeded."

"You became Administrator again."

"Now finish what I started."

The hologram vanished.

Silence filled the Citadel.

Andrian slowly turned toward Steni.

"…So let me understand this."

"You're telling me…"

"…you created the System."

Steni shook her head.

"I don't remember any of it."

Her voice trembled slightly.

"I swear."

Andrian sighed deeply.

"Of course you don't."

Before either of them could say more—

The sky shook violently.

The Devourer's presence grew stronger.

Its enormous eyes opened inside the darkness beyond the broken dimension.

They were staring directly at Steni.

Then another message appeared.

[UNKNOWN ENTITY TRANSMISSION]

"Creator."

"You delayed me once."

"You will not delay me again."

Andrian looked back up.

"…Okay I officially hate that thing."

But something worse happened next.

The tear in space began expanding.

Not slowly.

Rapidly.

The crack spread across the entire sky.

Then something started emerging from the darkness.

Thousands of shapes.

No.

Millions.

Creatures poured out of the void like a living storm.

Winged monsters.

Shadow beasts.

Entities made of pure energy.

An endless army descending toward the universe.

The system alarms screamed.

[MULTIVERSE INVASION DETECTED]

[DEVOURER ARMY ARRIVING]

[THREAT LEVEL: EXTINCTION]

Andrian stared at the sky.

"…That's not an army."

"That's a nightmare."

Steni's administrator interface opened dozens of windows at once.

System maps appeared.

Worlds across the universe were under attack.

Entire planets were disappearing from the map.

Human colonies were being erased within seconds.

She whispered quietly.

"It's too fast…"

Andrian looked at her.

"What do we do?"

Steni didn't answer.

Because the system suddenly unlocked another hidden file.

[HIDDEN PROTOCOL DETECTED]

Protocol Name:

CREATOR AUTHORITY

The system displayed a message.

Only the System Creator may activate this protocol.

Candidate detected:

Steni

Andrian leaned closer.

"That sounds important."

Steni opened the file.

Inside it was a single command.

RESTORE ORIGINAL MEMORIES

Warning:

Memory restoration may overwrite current personality.

Andrian froze.

"…Wait."

He grabbed her wrist.

"If you do that…"

"…you might stop being you."

Steni stared at the message.

Her heart pounded.

If the recording was telling the truth…

Then somewhere inside her mind existed thousands of years of knowledge.

The knowledge of the System's creator.

The only person who knew how to stop the Devourer.

But restoring those memories could erase the person she had become.

Her life.

Her emotions.

Everything.

Andrian's voice softened.

"You don't have to do this."

"We'll figure something else out."

But the sky answered for her.

Another planet vanished from the system map.

Then another.

And another.

Millions of lives disappearing every second.

The Devourer's army was spreading across the stars.

Steni looked back at the command.

Her finger slowly moved toward the confirmation button.

Andrian's voice was barely a whisper.

"…Steni."

"…are you sure about this?"

She looked up at the endless darkness consuming the universe.

Then she smiled faintly.

"If there's even a chance this saves everyone…"

"…I have to try."

Her finger touched the command.

The system asked one final question.

[CONFIRM MEMORY RESTORATION?]

YES / NO

Steni pressed YES.

For one moment—

Nothing happened.

Then the system exploded with light.

[CREATOR PROTOCOL ACTIVATED]

[RESTORING ORIGINAL MEMORIES]

Steni screamed.

Fragments of ancient memories flooded her mind.

Wars between galaxies.

The birth of the System.

The first encounter with the Devourer.

Thousands of years of knowledge returning all at once.

Andrian grabbed her shoulders.

"Steni!"

But her eyes had changed.

The glowing code inside them burned brighter than ever.

Slowly… she stood up.

Her voice echoed across the broken sky.

Calm.

Ancient.

Powerful.

"…I remember."

Andrian froze.

"…Steni?"

She looked up at the Devourer's enormous eyes.

Then she spoke one sentence.

The sentence that made the entire universe tremble.

"Round two."
