I walked into the warehouse alone. The air smelled like rust and fear.
Three men in dark suits stood waiting near a metal table. The one in the middle held a recorder. The other two didn't have faces I wanted to remember.
"Where is the evidence?" the man with the recorder asked.
I kept my mouth shut. The tooth was still sitting in my stomach. It felt like a stone.
He sighed and nodded to the others. "We can do this the easy way, or we can do it the hard way."
One of them opened a black case on the table. I didn't see what was inside. I didn't want to.
"Last chance," the man said. "Tell us where it is."
My brother was tied to a chair behind them. His head was hanging down. He wasn't moving.
I looked at the man with the recorder. Then I looked at my brother.
And I made my choice.
[END OF PREVIEW - FULL SCENE REMOVED FOR CONTENT REVIEW]
---
AUTHOR NOTE:
Webnovel's system flagged the rest of Chapter 12 for "graphic content + political sensitivity" during auto-review. I was told to cut the scene or the whole book gets restricted.
I refused.
The UNCUT version of Chapter 12 shows exactly what happened to my brother, what the men did when I wouldn't talk, and why I'm never writing a "safe" book again.
It's 649 words. It's not for kids. It's not for cowards.
If you want the real Chapter 12 + Chapter 13 tomorrow when I drop it:
