Chapter 26 - Parker’s Choice

Early the next morning, Parker woke up.

Sora Yukihara had imagined that Parker would rage, or break down in tears—but he never expected silence.

He just sat there.

From the first light of dawn until night fell, all the way into the late hours, he remained unmoving.

After Aunt May—who had decades of caregiving experience—checked him over thoroughly at Sora Yukihara's request, she found that aside from some superficial wounds, the lacerations and severely bruised bones had basically healed. There was no need for a hospital.

But Parker's expression left her deeply worried.

She stayed by his side the entire time, refusing to leave even for a moment. She couldn't even bring herself to eat, enduring hunger alongside him.

Slap!

Unable to bear it any longer, Sora Yukihara sent Parker flying with a single strike.

He coldly demanded, "How long are you going to keep pretending?"

"Pretending?"

Parker finally spoke.

Sora Yukihara sneered. "Who killed Uncle Ben?"

Parker hadn't said it outright, but from his expression, it was obvious—Uncle Ben was dead.

Parker struggled before answering, "Osborn."

"Exactly!"

Sora Yukihara cursed, "Your enemy is still alive, and you're sitting here wallowing. How does that honor Uncle Ben? Don't give me that bullshit about justice and the law—I only believe in blood for blood."

"Blood for blood…"

Parker's heart trembled.

Only then did he notice that Aunt May had collapsed.

She was already elderly. After going an entire day without food or water, she was at her limit. And now, with her last hope shattered, how could she endure it?

"Aunt May! I'll take you to the hospital right away!"

"I've got it."

Black Cat stepped in.

In truth, she had already been there.

What happened yesterday had been too shocking—the news had spread everywhere. If she hadn't reacted by now, she wouldn't deserve the title of master thief.

She gently took Aunt May into her arms and said, "She just fainted from emotional shock. Let her rest and give her some light food later—she'll recover quickly."

Sora Yukihara asked, "You know medical care?"

Black Cat replied, "I know quite a bit about first aid. No one ever took care of me, so I learned to take care of myself."

"You have me now."

Sora Yukihara kissed her on the forehead.

She smiled softly, suppressing the emotion rising in her chest, and carried Aunt May out.

Sora Yukihara then turned to Parker. "Talk. What exactly happened?"

With Aunt May gone, Parker suddenly erupted in fury.

"They're monsters! Inhuman lunatics! When they saw that I successfully fused with the spider gene while others failed, they used Uncle Ben as a test subject!"

"Ahhh… it's all because of me! Why did I succeed? Why didn't I become a monster too?! If I had failed, Uncle Ben wouldn't have been turned into a monster and shot to death!"

"Osborn! Norman! I'll make you pay!"

Parker slammed his head repeatedly, trying to erase the horrifying image of Uncle Ben being riddled with bullets by a dozen gunmen.

"…As expected."

Sora Yukihara felt like Parker was a walking disaster.

In both Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man, Uncle Ben died because of Spider-Man.

Sora Yukihara had come to this world hoping to change things—but in the end, Uncle Ben still died. And this time, it was because of Parker's success. He was turned into an experiment and killed.

What a cruel irony.

"Good people never get good endings."

Sora Yukihara sighed.

If there was one ordinary person in the Marvel world who left a deep impression, it would be Uncle Ben.

And yet, someone like him died again and again.

Meanwhile, villains either never died—or even if they did, they came back.

Fate was completely unfair.

After venting, Parker began to cry.

Sora Yukihara didn't stop him.

Letting him cry it out was the best thing.

But Parker wasn't as fragile as Sora Yukihara had expected. Before long, he calmed down—or perhaps came to a realization.

"Are the Osborns dead?" he asked.

"No."

Sora Yukihara replied, "I kidnapped Harry to trade for you, but the X-Men interfered and saved him."

"X-Men…"

Parker's hatred extended to them now.

Sora Yukihara asked, "What's your plan?"

Without hesitation, Parker answered, "Like you said—blood for blood."

Sora Yukihara pressed further, "They're a corporate empire with all kinds of superhuman methods. How do you plan to take revenge? What ability do you have?"

Boom!

Parker punched through the wall.

"This is my ability."

Not a drop of blood appeared on his fist.

This wasn't the same Spider-Man from the movies. This Parker was far stronger.

But Sora Yukihara flicked his fingers repeatedly.

Each flick was a bullet-like thread, punching holes through the wall.

Most terrifying of all, it all happened within three seconds.

Even with Spider-Sense, Parker knew he wouldn't have been able to dodge such dense attacks. A chill ran down his spine.

Sora Yukihara acknowledged his determination, but still sneered. "Confidence is good. Overconfidence is just stupid."

Parker didn't get angry. Instead, he asked calmly, "Then what should I do?"

"Simple. Destroy everything Osborn is working on. Tear down their greatest weapons."

Sora Yukihara laid out his plan, finishing with a cold tone. "Once those two can't stand our provocation anymore and crawl out of hiding, that's when they die."

"You say it, I'll do it."

Parker didn't hesitate.

Those words marked his choice—to become Sora Yukihara's subordinate.

Sora Yukihara nodded. "First, we need our own surveillance system. Otherwise, when those two rats come out, we won't even know."

Parker agreed.

"To do that, we need—"

Sora Yukihara stopped mid-sentence.

His phone rang.

It was Tony.

Sora Yukihara glanced at the time—it was already past midnight.

"That's not right…"

Confused, he answered the call.

But instead of Tony's voice, he heard Pepper Potts crying.

What the hell was going on?
