A month had passed since Diablo first used his gravity magic. During this month, he had improved his mana control and range, so that his gravity magic, which had previously only been able to be used within a one-meter range, now had a range of five meters. He was now even able to channel his mana more smoothly and execute his magic faster than he had at the beginning.
Currently, Diablo had just woken up from his sleep. Previously, he had decided to take a full day off after his mana control training. He had spent the day relaxing his mind by simply lying down or observing his surroundings while taking a leisurely walk. The reason behind this was that his mind was too tired to continue his training routine. Therefore, he decided to take a short break to maintain his mental state and to relive the feeling of a good night's sleep he had experienced when he was human.
Finally, today was the day he would train with his Time Attribute, and he decided to try learning the acceleration aspect first. The reason? Because, like gravity, acceleration was quite familiar to Diablo back when he was on Earth, making it easier for him to learn than others.
"While other aspects of the Time Attribute, such as freezing, projection, repetition, regression, and distortion of the structure of time, are indeed tempting to learn, for the current me, they are extremely difficult to achieve. Meanwhile, acceleration is something quite familiar. After all, it's one of the physical quantities I've studied since my school days."
"If I remember correctly, acceleration is the change in velocity an object experiences over a given unit of time. In other words, acceleration is how quickly an object's velocity changes from its initial velocity, whether it's increasing or decreasing."
"D*mn, I've even gotten an idea of how to use this aspect. I could use it to increase my own speed and become 'The Flash' from another world! Or I could also use it to increase my enemies' speed so they lose control of their bodies due to the sudden change in speed or slow them down significantly until they're moving at the speed of a snail."
"In fact, I'm confident this aspect can be combined with the gravity aspect. Although I know I won't be able to use it now. After all, controlling just one aspect is still quite difficult for me, and my magic's range is still too short to use in real combat, but I'm confident I'll be able to combine these two aspects in the future."
Deciding to leave the fusion of these aspects for the future, Diablo returned to focusing on training the acceleration aspect, using his experience with the gravity aspect from before.
Repeating the same process as when he used the gravity aspect, Diablo began to channel mana throughout his body. However, instead of connecting it to the black door in his field of consciousness, Diablo connected his mana to the giant clock tower that symbolized the Time Attribute. After that, he began to imagine his body moving at an incredibly fast speed. Instead of focusing his mana to release it out of his right hand, Diablo began to circulate it throughout his body at twice the speed he had before. After that, he took a running stance, and the result...
*THUMPP* *THACKK*
"Arghh... That hurts. I didn't expect my speed to increase that much. I didn't expect to end up in such an embarrassing situation. I ended up crashing into a tree right after trying this aspect. I should have paid attention to my surroundings before running."
After the pain from the collision subsided, Diablo stood back up and brushed off the dirt from his robes.
'But this is surprising. I'm sure this tree was at least ten meters away from where I was standing, and I covered that distance in 2.5 seconds. Did my speed just double? Does this increase in speed have something to do with me circulating mana through my body at twice the normal rate? If so, if I continue to train my mana control until I can reach ten times the normal speed, will my body's speed increase tenfold as well?!'
"Well, I can't prove this theory right now, as doubling is my current limit. But in the future, I'll make sure I can do it. Also, after thinking about it, can I simply increase my processing speed with this aspect? If possible, even if it won't make me smarter, at least I'll be able to process large amounts of information around me more quickly and efficiently in less time."
"Okay, as for this processing speed, I intend to train it until it feels like a passive skill that's always active. That's one of my next goals."
Deciding that the space was a little too cramped for a training ground, Diablo began walking in random directions, looking for a slightly larger space. After searching for two hours, Diablo finally found a spot large enough to practice. It was a circular area with no trees in the area. From where he was standing to the tree furthest from him, it was at least 50 meters. It was enough for him to avoid crashing again if he couldn't control his speed.
To be on the safe side, this time, Diablo only circulated mana throughout his body 1.5 times faster than usual, causing his body to accelerate 1.5 times faster than usual. This proved Diablo's previous theory regarding the speed of mana flow within his body correct.
Fortunately, he managed to keep up with this pace and no longer lost control of his body so easily. While it was still quite awkward for him to move faster than his original speed, little by little, he began to get used to the feeling of the sudden change in speed. In fact, he began to try variations, from running at his original speed, only to suddenly increase his speed with the aspect. Or running at a speed increased by the acceleration aspect, only to stop using it midway and start running at his original speed.
Diablo repeated his acceleration training day after day, eventually lasting for a month. Now, Diablo could increase his body's speed and control it with ease. Unlike the gravity aspect, Diablo somehow mastered the acceleration aspect more quickly and easily. This made him wonder if he should have studied the acceleration aspect first instead of the gravity aspect.
"Phew... Maybe that's enough for now on the acceleration aspect. I'll practice it again another time, along with the gravity aspect. At least, I've gained a good understanding of these two aspects and laid a foundation for studying the other aspects, as well as a deeper understanding of the Space and Time Attributes. It's time for me to try my final Attribute, Destiny."
Having decided this, Diablo took a break to allow his mind and mental abilities to regain their full capacity. After all, his final Attribute, Destiny, was the most difficult and complex of all the Attributes to grasp.
