Chapter 11 - Chapter 11:The Night Everything almost went wrong

~~~~~~♡~~~~~~
I knew something was off the moment I saw him.
---
Adrian wasn't himself.
He wasn't calm like before.
He wasn't in control.
---
He looked… restless.
Like something inside him was trying to break out.
---
"Adrian?" I called.
---
He looked up slowly.
And the moment I saw his eyes…
I just knew.
---
Something was wrong.
---
They were darker than usual.
Not normal.
Not even close.
---
"You shouldn't be here," he said.
But his voice?
It didn't sound like him.
---
It was rough.
Like he was forcing himself to talk.
---
"I was worried," I said, stepping closer.
---
"Don't come closer," he snapped.
---
I stopped.
---
That one shocked me.
He had never spoken to me like that before.
---
"What's wrong with you?" I asked.
---
He ran his hand through his hair like he was stressed.
"I said leave."
---
"No."
---
I didn't even think before I said it.
---
His eyes snapped back to me immediately.
---
"I mean it," he said.
---
"And I mean it too," I replied.
"I'm not going anywhere."
---
That was when everything changed.
---
Before I could even react—
he was in front of me.
---
Too fast.
Not normal.
---
My back hit the wall.
---
His hand came up beside my head, trapping me there.
---
My heart started racing instantly.
Not small.
Fast.
Loud.
---
And the way he looked at me…
made it worse.
---
"You don't understand what you're doing," he said.
His voice low.
Shaking a little.
---
"Then explain it," I said.
Even though my voice wasn't as strong as I wanted it to be.
---
That was when he leaned closer.
---
Not slow like before.
Not careful.
---
Fast.
---
His face dropped near my neck.
---
I froze.
---
I could feel his breath.
Cold.
Too cold.
---
Then I felt it.
---
Something sharp… close to my skin.
---
My heart literally stopped.
---
"Adrian…" I said quietly.
---
That was it.
---
He froze.
---
Like someone pressed pause on him.
---
Everything stopped.
---
Slowly… he pulled back.
---
And when I looked at him again—
I didn't see hunger first.
---
I saw guilt.
---
Real guilt.
---
"I almost…" he started.
But he couldn't finish.
---
I was still shaking.
But I didn't run.
---
"I trust you," I said.
---
He looked at me like I had just said something crazy.
---
"You shouldn't," he replied.
---
"I almost hurt you."
---
"But you didn't."
---
Silence.
---
Then he stepped back quickly.
Like he needed space.
---
"You don't get it," he said.
---
"Then make me get it," I replied.
---
He shook his head.
Frustrated.
Confused.
---
"I'm trying to stay away from you," he said.
"And you keep coming back."
---
"Because you keep coming back too," I said.
---
That one hit him.
I saw it.
---
He went quiet.
Then finally—
he said it.
---
"I care about you."
---
Everything in me paused.
---
"I didn't plan it," he continued.
"I didn't even want it. But it happened."
---
I didn't know what to say.
---
"And that's the problem," he added.
"If I lose control again…"
---
He didn't finish.
---
He didn't need to.
---
I already understood.
---
But even with all that…
I still didn't step back.
---
And the way he looked at me after that?
---
Like that scared him more than anything else.
---
Because now…
he wasn't just fighting himself anymore.
---
He was fighting how much I meant to him.
