Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Frozen Descent — The Ascent to 300 HP

1. Crossing the Dead Zone: The Southern March

[Day 17 — 10:00 AM]

Link didn't stop.

He didn't look back.

And he didn't let the victory over the Eye linger in his mind.

In this world—

numbers meant survival.

He packed his supplies and prepared to head south.

But before leaving—

he trained.

He raised his left arm.

The Shield of Cthulhu rested against it, the dark-red eye embedded within faintly pulsing, as if something inside it was still alive.

"…Dash."

He stepped forward.

Triggered it.

"BAM—!"

His body shot forward instantly—

out of control.

"CRACK!"

He slammed straight into a tree, snapping it in half before rolling across the ground.

"…Too fast."

He stood up.

Didn't hesitate.

Again.

Second attempt.

Third.

"BAM!"

This time he lowered his center of gravity.

Still unstable.

Still drifting.

Fourth.

Fifth.

He slowed his breathing.

Focused.

Dash—

pause—

redirect—

impact.

By the eleventh attempt—

he could slip cleanly between two trees.

Even adjust his direction mid-impact.

"…Got it."

He looked ahead.

"This isn't for escaping."

"It's for advancing."

The next moment—

he dashed straight into the Corruption.

The ground pulsed beneath his feet.

The air felt thick. Wrong.

Eaters of Souls dove from above.

"Come."

"BAM!"

He collided head-on, using the impact to redirect his momentum, his blade already moving as he landed.

No pause.

Second.

Third.

He wasn't fighting anymore.

He was—

cutting a path.

A silver streak across a dead land.

Until—

everything turned white.

2. Into the Ice: The Beginning of Suffering

The ground hardened into ice.

Link exhaled.

"…This is it."

He found a crevice and descended underground.

The tundra below was silent.

Too silent.

No wind.

No enemies.

Only—

Crunch.

Footsteps.

He lit a torch.

Orange light refracted through layers of translucent ice, splitting into fractured reflections.

Like being trapped inside a frozen prism.

"Clang."

The pickaxe struck.

"Clang."

"Clang."

Time began to lose meaning.

The digging continued—

for nearly two days.

He never truly rested.

Only leaned against the ice for brief moments, closing his eyes just long enough to steady his breathing.

His food ran out by the second evening.

He began relying on potions just to keep functioning.

His palms split open.

Blisters formed.

Froze.

Tore again.

Each swing sent pain through his joints.

But he didn't stop.

In this world—

stopping meant being caught.

And yet—

he wasn't empty-handed.

Deep within the ice, veins of ore revealed themselves from time to time.

Iron.

Silver.

And once—

a faint patch of something darker.

Something purple.

Demonite.

He paused.

Observed.

Calculated.

Then—

walked away.

"…Wrong priority."

Ore meant equipment.

Equipment meant linear growth.

Health—

meant margin for error.

In this world,

one mistake—

was enough.

He mined only what was immediately accessible.

Ignored the rest.

"Resources are infinite."

"Time isn't."

Just as doubt began to creep in—

A faint red glow appeared deep within the ice.

3. First Crystal: A Spark of Survival

He slowed down.

Careful.

Controlled.

The final layer cracked.

A Life Crystal floated inside.

Pulsing.

"Crack."

He shattered it.

Heat surged into his chest.

His heart slammed—

once—

then again—

then stabilized.

HP: 220 → 240

He exhaled slowly.

"…Not enough."

4. Frozen Reward

He continued deeper.

Then—

the ground gave way.

"THUD!"

He dropped into a frozen cavern.

Ice spikes surrounded him like jagged teeth.

At the center—

a chest.

Blue.

Frost-covered.

Untouched.

He approached.

Opened it.

Cold air spilled out.

Ice Blade

Blizzard in a Bottle

Gold, potions, frost arrows

He swung once.

A wave of frost shot forward.

A slime froze mid-attack—

then shattered.

"…Good."

He moved on.

5. Four Hearts: Climbing Toward SurvivalSecond Crystal

Hidden in an underground river.

He dove in.

Cold hit instantly.

Not cold—

pain.

His lungs tightened.

Breathing failed.

He found the crystal—

just in time.

Shattered it—

then burst out of the water, gasping.

240 → 260

He dropped to one knee.

Coughed violently.

Then stood.

Third Crystal

A collapse.

He fell into a marble biome.

Bats swarmed.

No space.

No escape.

He ignited his flail.

Swung it in tight arcs.

Fire and steel filled the air.

He held the line.

When it ended—

he found it.

260 → 280

Fourth Crystal

Deep below.

He dug straight down.

100 meters.

200 meters.

The air thinned.

Breathing grew heavy.

Then—

he saw it.

Red.

He didn't hesitate.

One strike.

"CRACK—!"

The crystal shattered.

Energy surged through his body.

His heart pounded violently.

Blood roared.

Bones tightened.

His entire body locked—

then—

stabilized.

HP MAX: 300 / 300

6. 300 HP: The Transformation

[Day 18 — 2:00 AM]

Link sat beside a fire.

Sweat ran down his face.

Even in the cold.

This wasn't heat.

It was adaptation.

His heartbeat had changed.

Slower.

Heavier.

Stronger.

His breathing steadied.

He clenched his fist.

Released.

The strength wasn't explosive.

It was—

stable.

"…Three hundred."

Not just a number.

A margin.

A second chance—

in a world that gave none.

He stood.

Ice Blade in hand.

Shield secured.

Blizzard Bottle at his back.

He looked into the darkness.

"…Next."
