Chapter 13 - Chapter 13 : Violet Dawn

---

The first rays of morning light filtered through the blinds of Draven's sparse apartment as he stood in the center of the room, shirtless, the fresh bandage on his shoulder already stained with faint violet residue.

The 8th Form rested on the wooden stand before him, no longer the pure black blade it had been just days ago. The transformation was undeniable. The entire sword now carried a dominant deep indigo-violet hue, with subtle black accents lingering at the hilt and base like fading shadows. The edge gleamed with a sharper, almost ethereal light, and faint glowing runes pulsed along the fuller whenever he touched it.

Draven gripped the hilt and performed a slow, controlled slash through the empty air.

*Shrrrk—!*

The arc that tore forward was no longer a simple consuming black streak. It left trailing ribbons of violet energy that lingered for several seconds, devouring the ambient light and leaving faint afterimages that slowly dissolved. The power felt cleaner, faster, and far more precise — like a eclipse swallowing the sun.

The sword's ancient voice echoed clearly in his mind once more:

**"8th Form: Violet Eclipse. Stage 8 unlocked. My hunger grows… but so does your strength. Feed me worthy blood, and the colors will continue to rise."**

Draven lowered the blade, breathing evenly. He could feel the difference in his body too — slightly enhanced speed, sharper senses, and a cold, relentless focus that bordered on addictive.

His phone buzzed on the table. He picked it up.

**Lira:** Morning! Shoulder okay? I couldn't sleep much thinking about yesterday. That violet you mentioned… is it spreading more? Send a picture if you can. And please don't vanish today. Breakfast together? My place this time. I'll make pancakes (no monsters allowed… hopefully) ❤️

Draven stared at the message for a long moment. The new power made everything feel more intense — including the quiet pull toward normalcy that Lira represented. He took a quick photo of the transformed 8th Form (carefully angled so only the blade was visible) and sent it with a short reply.

**Draven:** Awakened fully. 8th Form now. Violet Eclipse. Coming over.

Lira's response was almost instant — a string of excited emojis followed by:

**Lira:** 8TH FORM?!?! Send more pics when you get here!! I'm freaking out in a good way. Door will be open. Hurry before the pancakes get cold~

When Draven arrived at Lira's cozy apartment, she was already waiting at the door in an oversized sweater and shorts, her hair still slightly messy from sleep. The moment she saw him, her eyes widened at the sheathed sword.

"Whoa… it looks different even in the sheath." She pulled him inside quickly and closed the door. "Let me see it properly!"

Draven unsheathed the 8th Form and held it out. The violet-indigo blade caught the morning light streaming through the windows, making the runes shimmer softly.

Lira gasped, leaning in close but not touching it. "It's beautiful… like midnight mixed with stars. The violet is so much stronger now." She looked up at him, a mix of awe and worry in her sparkling eyes. "Does it feel different? Stronger? Does the sword… talk to you more?"

Draven nodded once. "It does. Clearer now. It calls itself Violet Eclipse. The slashes leave lingering energy that drains light and power." He paused, then added quietly, "It's hungry. More than before."

Lira bit her lip, then reached out and gently touched his bandaged shoulder instead of the sword. "Hungry is scary… but you look a little stronger too. Just promise me you won't let it control you, okay? You're still Draven — not just whatever the sword wants." She smiled softly and tugged him toward the kitchen. "Now come eat. Pancakes are ready, and I made the strawberry ones specially for you to try. No brooding at the table."

As they sat down, Lira piled pancakes onto his plate and watched him with bright curiosity. "So… what happens next with the 8th Form? Will more monsters come because of the color change? And that cave — is it reacting too?"

Draven took a bite, chewing slowly before answering. "Monsters will sense it. Stronger ones. The survivor I met last night warned that the cave is waking faster." He met her eyes across the table. "I shouldn't drag you deeper into this."

Lira puffed her cheeks in mild annoyance, the familiar cute expression returning. "Hey, we already had this talk. Petals and shadows, remember? Team. If the 8th Form is awake, then I get to help more — even if it's just making sure you eat properly and don't go on midnight missions without telling me." She reached across and lightly poked his hand. "Besides… I like this new violet. It suits you. Makes the dark a little less lonely."

Draven looked at her for a long moment, the violet pulse from the sheathed sword echoing softly in the background. The corner of his mouth lifted the faintest bit.

"…You're impossible."

Lira grinned triumphantly. "And you're keeping me anyway. Now finish your pancakes before the 8th Form gets jealous of my cooking."

Outside, in the monster realm, the ancient cave pulsed with matching violet light. Cracks spread wider across the stone.

The 8th Form had awakened.

The real storm was only beginning.
