Chapter 109 - Chapter 108: Tonight, You Will No Longer Need Your Souls

No longer needing any medium, no longer needing any ritual preparation.

The massive negative emotions of tens of millions of people, continuously suppressed, fermented, and guided to a peak, had long since formed a thick, pitch-like spiritual miasma over Tokyo—invisible to the naked eye, yet truly present.

At this moment, with Ghost Prison acting as the fuse, it detonated with a bang!

Centering on Tokyo Tower, a translucent, ghostly purple halo suddenly expanded, sweeping across the entirety of Tokyo in an instant!

Wherever the halo passed, the air wailed like ghosts, and the surfaces of buildings seemed coated in a greasy, purple-black sheen. Even the sparse starlight and the searchlights of distant warships were distorted, swallowed, and turned dim and eerie.

"Tonight,"

Ghost Prison's voice was not loud, yet it seemed to ring directly in the depths of the souls of every Japanese citizen in Tokyo.

It carried a strange, intoxicating magnetism.

"Your humble, cowardly souls, filled with impurities and desires, have become a burden."

"Discard them."

"Consecrate to me your flesh, your boiling blood, and your most primitive hatred for the invaders."

"Become the Emperor's most loyal, purest, and most powerful Death Soldiers."

"Use your claws and fangs to tear apart those filthy foreigners who have stepped upon this sacred land!"

Ghost Prison's crimson vertical pupils emitted a ghostly purple light. His mask turned into flesh and blood, merging with his human face. His gaze swept over the scene below as his aura swelled to its peak at this moment.

"WAKE UP!!!"

The final two words were like a thunderclap, exploding within countless muddled minds.

"Boom—!!"

The ground of all Tokyo seemed to tremble slightly.

Immediately after, an indescribably bizarre transformation occurred simultaneously in every corner of the City!

Ordinary Japanese citizens hiding in apartments, office buildings, basements, and even temporary shelters—regardless of age or gender.

Whether they had previously felt fear or numbness, piety or doubt, their bodies convulsed violently at this moment!

Their eyes instantly lost all luster, their pupils dilating and being replaced by a turbid, frenzied light—a mix of ghostly purple and crimson.

On the surface of their skin, greenish-black veins bulged and spread like living things, forming strangely twisted patterns.

Joints let out tooth-aching cracks as they began to twist in reverse, limbs elongating or swelling abnormally.

"Ugh... ah..."

"Em... peror..."

"Kill... them..."

Indistinct roars, mixed with pain and fanaticism, initially rose sporadically but quickly joined together, eventually merging into a terrifying wave of sound that swept through the entire City!

In that sound were beastly howls, the friction of deforming bones, and the squelching noise of proliferating flesh.

Furthermore, there was the spiritual pollution that struck deep into the core of sanity—the result of countless souls being forcibly torn apart and frenzied thoughts mixing together!

Windows were brutally smashed from the inside! Doors were torn apart by twisted limbs!

Person after person... or rather, monsters that were once human, poured out of the buildings, coming to the streets, the squares, and any open space.

They tilted their heads back toward the moon, which was stained by the purple-black evil aura, and let out synchronized roars filled with sacrifice and devotion.

The moonlight fell upon them, accelerating the process of mutation.

Some went on all fours, their backs arching as bone spikes and scales grew, transforming into hideous and savage crawling monsters.

Some saw their bodies swell several times over, their muscles knotting like mountains of flesh, while their heads shrank and became deformed, turning into tyrants wielding giant arms.

Some grew slender and twisted like stick insects, their arms becoming sharp bone blades, moving silently like deformed predators of the night.

Even more extreme, some bodies adhered and merged together like melting wax statues, forming massive, squirming, and shape-shifting meat masses composed of dozens or hundreds of human bodies.

Countless pained human faces surfaced on the meat masses, letting out layered wails... Within just a few minutes, Tokyo had transformed from a deathly silent empty City into a living hell teeming with tens of millions of twisted monsters!

The ghostly purple evil aura acted like a heavy curtain, enveloping the entire City and isolating it from the outside world.

The monsters' roars were deafening, the gathered sound waves nearly overturning the night sky.

The madness, malice, and pure killing intent toward all non-self life they emitted formed a tangible spiritual pressure, washing over every corner of the City that had not yet been converted like a cold tide.

The glass curtain walls of skyscrapers reflected the terrifying flood of surging mutations on the streets below, while the residual light from neon signs blurred into grotesque patches of color within the purple-black evil aura.

Under Ghost Prison's [Purgatory of All Living Beings], the entire City had completely fallen, turning into a hideous and terrifying war machine belonging only to his will.

At the top of the tower, Ghost Prison slowly withdrew his arms. Beneath his terrifying and hideous face, his lips finally curled into a cold, satisfied arc.

His army was ready.

And the prey were still scattered in various corners of this giant cage.

Then, the hunt begins... In the distance, on a high floor of the hotel where Lilith was located, in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.

That petite figure in a military uniform had stood there at some point, her crimson vertical pupils piercing through the night and the purple-black evil aura, quietly watching the world-shaking, terrifying upheaval of the City below.

There was no panic on her face, not even surprise—only a trace of nearly pure greed, the kind an apex predator feels for delicious food.

"Finally, things are getting interesting,"

She whispered to herself, a wisp of dark red Blood-Lightning jumping silently at her fingertips, illuminating her cold, translucent red eyes.

"But, it's still not pure enough."
