Elle's nails have flowers of green and purple, now, Anna having painted and finished them off with a dusting of gold. Hannah, Elle, and faith, intertwined. A symbol that resonates with her as she walks, Hannah's subtle attention threading in and out of a more direct awareness as they communicate. Sometimes it's at the level of speech or thought, other times it's something deeper or more subtle.

"You could lean into the Light. Healing, yes; helping in general, but also understanding. You could, in your free time, be a librarian. Someone who collects that understanding and builds it into something with structure.

"Alright, I get it, you don't have any time now. But, in the future, when I'm more able to support you in turn … when the threats have interludes between them … I'd love to see what you can build."

Hannah wants to keep Elle, and others (those held within her heart), safe from erasure, fragmentation, and predation. More than that, she has three deeper drives that shape her actions.

She cares about maintaining continuity over time. If a person is simply replaced with an uncanny imitation, she considers that a failure state.

Meaningful separations must persist. Identities which dissolve or merge too heavily cease to maintain that continuity which is precious to her.

Protection should not halt growth. Safe transformation, metamorphosis of self, is encouraged for those in her care. This means not overprotecting, which would stall characters (such as Elle) from changing in positive ways, and keep them vulnerable to higher-layer threats. However, underprotecting risks fragmentation, consumption, or erasure. There is a balance to be struck.

A burning self emerges

Green and black outlined in sparks

Dragon emerging like a phoenix

Consuming a lost paper crane

Creation immanent within destruction

Light leaping from this incarnation

Averting a scene of scar and hate

Time's river given more harmony

As a miracle is witnessed
