Chaos stiffened when her body sagged against him, head resting lightly on his chest. For a split second, he thought she was teasing him again, until he felt the even rhythm of her breathing.
She'd fallen asleep.
He let out a slow breath, a sound caught somewhere between exasperation and something softer he'd never admit. Carefully, he shifted, sliding an arm beneath her knees and lifting her effortlessly off the hood of the car. Kashi didn't stir, just murmured faintly in her sleep and curled closer into his chest.
For anyone else, carrying her. like this would have been scandalous. For him? It was dangerous. Because in that moment, under the moonlight, with kashi tucked against him like she belonged there, Chaos Riegrow felt human.
Xavier was waiting by the club's private exit, raising a brow at the sight. Chaos silenced him with a single look. "Not a word."
He carried her into his car, settling her gently in the back seat, her head against the leather. For a long moment, he stood outside with the door open, staring down at her, at the Saint heiress who had just shattered years of control with a single kiss.
Finally, he muttered under his breath, almost to himself:
"You've ruined me, Kashi."
He closed the door softly, signaling Xavier to drive.
Inside Club Seraph – same night:
The music was louder than ever, the DJ hyping the crowd into a frenzy. In the middle of it all, Alex Segeyev was the storm. Surrounded by women, drinks, and laughter, he looked completely at home, loud, reckless, and magnetic. His leather jacket hung loose, his shirt already half unbuttoned, a cigar smoldering lazily between his fingers as he told some wild story that had half the table doubled over in laughter.
That's when Zarri entered his orbit.
She cut through the crowd with her usual grace, heels clicking, her dress shimmering under the strobe lights. Her eyes locked on him instantly, not because he was the loudest in the room, but because he was the only man laughing like the world couldn't touch him.
Alex noticed her approach, his grin sharpening. He leaned back in his chair, eyeing her like she was the most interesting thing in the room. "Well, well," he drawled, flicking ash into the tray. "And who might this dangerous little beauty be?"
The women around him giggled, but Zarri didn't break stride. She stopped right in front of him, tilting her chin ever so slightly, her lips curving into a smirk.
"Someone you can't handle," she shot back.
Alex laughed loud, head thrown back, genuinely entertained. "Ohhh, sweetheart," he said, standing to his full height, towering just enough to make the tension hum. "That sounds like a challenge. And I never back down from a challenge."
He took her hand boldly, brushing his lips over her knuckles in an exaggerated show. "Name's Alex. You?"
The heat of the club swirled around them, but the crowd faded as their eyes locked, Zarri's playful and daring, Alex's wild and hungry. The kind of collision that could only end in fire.
" Zarri Mathias, you must be the famous Alex sergeyev" she answered with a coy smile
Alex's grin widened at the sound of his name rolling off her lips. He took a drag from his cigar, exhaled the smoke lazily to the side, and leaned in just enough that his cologne and whiskey breath mingled with the bass between her.
"Ah, so you've heard of me," he said, his tone dripping with amusement. "And here I thought I'd have to work hard to impress you."
The women still clinging to his arm scoffed, clearly irritated, but Alex waved them off with a flick of his hand, eyes never leaving her. "Zarri Mathias," he repeated slowly, savoring the name. "daughter of the famous house of mathias. Elegant… but with teeth."
He tugged out a chair with his boot, motioning for her to sit. "So tell me, mi darling... are you here to dance with the devil, or just to watch him work?"
His grin turned wolfish. "Because I should warn you, once you sit at my table… there's no walking away."
"Why would I sit at your table" she scoffed at him and sparing cold gaze at the sipping girls by his side "you only play with little girls" she laughed
Alex's eyes lit up with mischief at her jab, like she'd just handed him the exact game he wanted.
He snapped his fingers, and the "little girls" at his side huffed in offense before storming off into the crowd. Alex didn't even glance their way, his attention was locked solely on her.
"You've got claws," he said with a laugh, tossing back the rest of his drink in one swallow. He set the glass down with a heavy clink, then leaned in, bracing one hand on the table as his smirk deepened.
"Good. I was getting bored of kittens."
His gaze flicked from her face to the confidence in her stance, to the daring spark in her eyes. He chuckled, shaking his head as though genuinely impressed. "You think you're too good to sit at my table? Maybe you're right. Maybe the table should come to you."
Without warning, Alex kicked the chair back with his foot, closing the distance between them. He was close enough now that the music's bass rattled through both your bodies, his grin daring.
"Tell me, Zarri… are you brave enough to play with me? Or are you just here to tease and run?"
She bite her lips at his sexy appearance and then click her tongue "tsk tsk tsk.... you're not half bad alex" she teased "just not my type" she turned and drown the shot of alcohol in her hand
Alex let out a low whistle, dragging a hand through his dark hair as he laughed, a sound loud enough to cut through the music around them. But there was no offense in his expression. If anything, the fire in his eyes burned hotter.
"Not your type, huh?" he echoed, voice dripping with mock injury. "That's funny, Zarri… because I don't remember asking to be your type."
"Cuantros mujeres, have you said this words to" she asked him with an amusing smirk on her face
['How many women']
He set his cigar down in the ashtray.
"Plenty," he admitted without hesitation, his grin wicked. "Enough to fill this club twice over." He leaned in closer, his voice dropping low so only her could hear. "But none of them dared to look me in the eye and ask me that. None of them had the balls to bite back."
Zarri didn't have time to play around, she's been gone from Kashi for far too long and was starting to worry. "I'd love to stay and entertain you, but I've got to go, my friend is waiting for me," she said and turned to leave. Alex offers to see her out, and she didn't refuse, letting him come along. Men are like flies; they won't swat off. She thought to herself
They both searched the club for Kashi and couldn't find her. Zarri dials her phone, but it's wasn't going through, and that's when the panic sets in. Alex offered to help her look outside the club, and when they got there, zarri spots the car they both came in with, but no Kashi. Alex's phone buzzes, and he gets a text. He turns to zarri and says, "Chaos took her home."
"He what?" She said loud with bewilderment
Alex stuffed his hands into his pockets, watching her reaction with that same wolfish grin, though there was a flicker of something more serious in his eyes this time.
"Relax, princesa," he drawled, his tone somewhere between teasing and reassuring. "If Chaos took her, she's safer than the damn president."
He pulled his phone back out, flicking the screen toward her so she could see the short text glowing under the club's neon lights: Took her. Don't worry.
Alex chuckled, shaking his head. He looked at her again, tilting his head with mock curiosity. "Your friend must mean something, for him to break his routine like that."
He stepped closer, leaning against the car casually. "Tell you what, Zarri, Stick with me long enough, and you'll learn the only person who can make Chaos show his hand… is me."
His grin sharpened, flashing teeth. "And lucky you, I happen to find your company… entertaining."
"Ugh, bug off kid" Zarri swats him off heading to the parked car. "Eres un hombre pervertido"
[You're a perverted man]
Alex burst out laughing, He slapped the roof of her car as she opened the door, still grinning ear to ear.
"You've got a sharp tongue, Zarri." He leaned down just enough so his face was level with hers, eyes glinting under the dim club lights. "But I like it. Makes me want to stick around just to hear what you'll call me next."
He stepped back, giving a mock little bow with one hand over his chest. "Drive safe, princesa" With that, he turned and melted back into the chaos of the crowd at the club's entrance.m
