Belkiel tossed something near Sez's feet.
"…Belkiel?"
Sez widened her eyes, gazing at Belkiel, who maintained his hardened expression. In his silvery-blue eyes, a puzzled-looking reflection of Sez stared back.
The previous night, Belkiel had ventured to the west tower as the priest had instructed.
The pontiff had mentioned something precious hidden in the rear chamber.
Despite his ventures around the temple, Belkiel hadn't sensed anything out of the ordinary. He had scoured every inch, trying to locate where Eton might have been sealed away, yet he felt nothing. Upon gripping the doorknob, a gust of wind swept through.
The door resisted his strength, refusing to yield. The late arch mage had claimed to have entered this room, leaving only one plausible conclusion - the room's owner didn't want Belkiel inside. However, as soon as Belkiel stood before the door, he sensed that what he sought was inside.
