The Emperor allowed her to visit him late at night. Sez thought it would have been better if he held audience with her during the daytime, but she was mostly just grateful that the Emperor allowed it in the first place.
Over the past few days, the Emperor’s health was the worst it had ever been, and people were saying that he couldn’t even move properly. Many of the palace staff said that Lisette’s death had left a severe impact on him.
As Sez heard those words, she thought to herself.
‘Even in death, one must be mindful of others' perceptions...’
Sez looked out of the window at the side of the hallway as she walked by. The sky was crystal clear, leaving the full moon all alone in the sky.
It was a blood moon, which resembled Rayton’s eyes… and it looked somewhat ominous.
"Walk carefully, Your Royal Highness. It's very dark in the hallway…”
