Once upon a time, high above the earth, the North Wind and the Sun had a loud argument about who was stronger. The Wind boasted, "I am the strongest! I can blow over mighty trees, cause massive storms, and push ships across the ocean!" The Sun smiled gently and replied, "You are strong, Wind, but I am stronger. I can make the world bloom, melt snow, and warm the earth."
Unable to decide, they decided to have a contest. Looking down, they saw a lonely traveler walking along a dusty road, wrapped in a warm thick cloak. "Whoever can make that traveler take off his cloak," said the Sun, "shall be recognized as the strongest."
The Wind agreed and decided to go first, confident in his power.
The Wind blew with all his might. A furious gale tore through the trees, making the traveler shiver. "Oh, what a cold wind!" thought the traveler, and he wrapped his cloak tighter around himself.
The Wind grew furious, howling louder and turning the rain into cold snow. He blew and blew, trying to rip the garment off, but the harder the Wind blew, the tighter the traveler held onto his cloak. Finally, exhausted and frustrated, the Wind stopped, defeated.
Then, it was the Sun's turn. The Sun broke through the clouds and shone gently down upon the traveler. The traveler looked up, feeling the warm rays, and smiled. He loosened his grip on the cloak. The Sun continued to shine brighter and warmer, spreading a peaceful heat across the fields. Soon, the traveler, feeling too hot to wear his coat, took it off, and laid it beside him, basking in the warmth.
The Sun turned to the Wind and said, "Gentleness and warmth can achieve what strength and force never can."
Moral: Gentleness is more powerful than force.
