Chapter 19 - Fashion Fiasco Part 2

Reines had such a jovial smile on her face dragging Gray around, picking up all types of clothing. Reines is 100% evil, no doubt about it. She derives pleasure from the suffering of others, just like Kuroyoru Umidori and other people I've seen in Academy City. With every piece of clothing, Gray was blushing and looking more frightened under her hood.

The poor girl might actually pass out at this rate. After a long time, they went to the changing room to actually change clothes.

I stood outside the changing room hearing Reines nagging Gray about all sorts of things. I could hear Gray muttering hesitantly trying her best to make excuses, but Gray wasn't having it in the slightest.

After a bit of back and fourth, Gray finally got pushed out of the changing room but Reines, who was looking like she wanted to die on the spot.

"So Teitoku, as a male judge what do you think about our wonderful Gray's outfit?"

I took a second to assess her outfit. She was wearing a light blue dress with a ribbon that tied her hair up into a bun. Gray looked embarrassed, while Reines was grinning wickedly.

"In all honesty, she looks fine." I said

Gray's face turned an even deeper shade of red.

Reines clapped her hands together. "See, Gray? I told you."

Gray opened her mouth, probably to protest, but nothing came out. She just stood there, frozen, her fingers twisting in the fabric.

"Now let's get back to the changing room, I have a ton of clothes for you to try on."

As she was being dragged back to the changing room, she was looking at me with a betrayed expression. I just waved her off with a neutral expression.

Honestly, I really didn't want to go shopping with any girls whatsoever. Going shopping with girls is akin to watching paint dry while being waterboarded.

I leaned back against the wall and pulled out my phone. The changing room curtain opened and closed, opened and closed. I heard Reines's voice, then Gray's quiet protests, then more of Reines's voice.

After what felt like an eternity, Gray stepped out again in a pink dress with a red hoodie.

The hoodie was cropped sitting just above her waist, made with some sort of soft-looking material that matched the dress. While the dress was just a simple dress that was slightly above her knees.

She actually looked comfortable in what she was wearing. The embarrassed flush was still there, but it wasn't as deep as previously

Reines stepped out behind her, looking pleased. "Well? What do you think?"

I looked at Gray for a second before replying. "The hoodie suits you"

Gray blinked, then looked down at herself. A small smile tugged at the corner of her mouth.

"It's... not bad," she said quietly.

Reines clapped her hands. "Finally! Some progress."

Then a pompous voice made their way from behind us. "Would you three keep it down over there?"

I recognized this voice, with the fact that I heard it barely an hour ago. I turned around to see the annoyed face of Luviageliita Edelfelt.

"Miss Luvia, what brings you here?" The embarrassed voice of Gray asked her.

Luvia turned to Gray with a smile before proudly saying. "Well I'm the owner of Carnac, of course I'd be here."

After a few continuous rounds of changing, we finally made our way back downstairs. Gray was carrying two garment bags, the light blue dress and the pink one with the hoodie. Reines had insisted on buying both.

Luvia walked ahead like she owned the place, well in this case she kinda did.

"I can't believe this whole place is owned by you Miss Luvia, Gray said in amazement."

Reines waved her hand dismissively before explaining, "It actually used to be owned by a man named Sir Davenant, who was conveniently arrested in a certain alleyway the other day."

I mean that would explain why the architecture is so weird.

"Since you guys are already here, I've decided to give you guys a tour on the new Carnac."

I raised my hand to stop her. "I have already seen the whole place. So if you excuse me, I'll go

Luvia waved dismissively. "That's fine with me."

Then she turned back to Reines and Gray with joy practically beaming off her face.

"Then I guess it'll be our little girls' outing," she said to the remaining two girls.

Gray looked like she wanted to bolt. Her grip on the garment bags tightened, and she shot me a desperate look over her shoulder.

I pretended not to see it. I'm a traitor, I'm sorry Gray, but you'll have to deal with this on your own.

Reines clapped her hands together. "Oh, how delightful. Just us girls."

"Indeed." Luvia looped her arm through Gray's. "Come along, Gray. We have so much to show you."

Gray made a small strangled noise at one of the only normal individuals in her class, leaving her with 2 eccentric magi.

I turned and walked toward the exit, a garment bag swinging from my hand. The afternoon sun hit my face as I stepped outside. The crowd had thinned slightly since the time I was outside. I pulled out my phone and checked the time.

It was 4:00 PM. I spent like 3 hours there with those 2. And there was more of the shop that Luvia wanted to explore with them. I shook my head and started walking back to Slur Street.
