Chapter 15 - THE ONE THEY SEND TO END HIM

The silence didn't last.

It never does when something this dangerous appears.

Kael hovered in the air, chest rising and falling slowly.

The black energy around him had calmed…

…but not disappeared.

Below—

the academy was in ruins.

Cracked floors.

Collapsed walls.

Students scattered.

Teachers barely holding defensive formations.

And every single one of them—

was looking at him.

Not with confusion.

Not with curiosity.

Fear.

Kael swallowed.

"…I didn't mean to do this…"

The Devouring King chuckled softly inside him.

"Intent doesn't matter."

A pause.

"Only result."

Kael clenched his jaw.

"…Shut up."

"Make me."

Before Kael could respond—

a slow clap echoed across the broken hall.

Clap.

Clap.

Clap.

Kael's head snapped up.

The Correction Executor had returned.

Standing at the far end of the hall.

Untouched.

Unbothered.

Watching.

"…I was going to leave," he said calmly.

Another clap.

"But now…"

His eyes locked onto Kael.

"You've confirmed it."

Kael's voice dropped.

"…Confirmed what?"

The Executor took a step forward.

Each step made the air tighten again.

"You're not just an anomaly."

A pause.

"You're a collapse point."

The Devouring King laughed instantly.

"He figured it out fast."

Kael ignored him.

"…What does that mean?"

The Executor stopped walking.

And for the first time—

his expression changed slightly.

Serious.

"It means the world doesn't break around you…"

A pause.

"It breaks because of you."

Silence.

Then—

he raised his hand.

The entire academy trembled.

Not from power.

From authority.

"Authorization granted."

A system message appeared—

But this time…

It wasn't Kael's.

It was the world's.

⚠️ EXECUTION PROTOCOL ACTIVATED

TARGET: KAEL ARDENT

PRIORITY: ABSOLUTE ERASURE

The First Forgotten Legend stepped forward instantly.

"…They skipped containment…"

Kael's eyes widened slightly.

"…They're going straight to kill?"

She nodded once.

"Because they're scared."

The Devouring King's voice dropped.

"Good."

The Executor moved.

And for the first time—

Kael didn't see it happen.

He just felt it.

Impact.

BOOM.

Kael was launched across the hall.

Crashing through stone.

Through walls.

Through what was left of the academy structure.

Everything blurred.

"…TOO FAST—"

The Devouring King spoke immediately.

"You're hesitating."

Kael forced himself up.

Blood at the corner of his mouth.

"I just got control back—!"

"Then fight like it."

The air shifted again.

The Executor appeared in front of him instantly.

"…Disappointing."

His hand moved—

Kael reacted.

Not thinking.

Not choosing.

Moving.

The black energy surged—

And Kael caught his wrist mid-strike.

CRACK.

The ground beneath them shattered.

The Executor's eyes narrowed slightly.

"…So you can respond."

Kael's voice dropped.

"…I'm done running."

The Devouring King laughed.

"That's better."

The Executor twisted his arm—

Kael's grip broke instantly.

Another hit—

BOOM.

Kael slammed into the ground.

"…Guh—!"

The Executor stepped closer.

No rush.

No wasted movement.

"You're unstable."

A pause.

"Which makes this easier."

Kael tried to stand—

but his body hesitated.

Inside—

he felt it.

The Devouring King pushing forward again.

"Let me take over."

Kael gritted his teeth.

"…No."

"You'll die."

"…Then I die myself."

Silence.

Then—

the Devouring King's tone changed.

Not mocking.

Not aggressive.

Serious.

"Idiot."

The Executor raised his hand.

Final strike.

Everything slowed.

Kael's vision blurred again—

but this time—

not into futures.

Into instinct.

The Fourth Seal flickered.

The Third Seal reacted.

The Devouring King surged forward—

And Kael—

didn't resist.

"…Just this once."

Black energy exploded.

Not outward.

Inward.

Kael's eyes changed.

Not fully.

Not completely taken over.

But different.

Cold.

Focused.

Hungry.

⚠️ CONTROL SHIFT

HOST: 48%

ENTITY: 52%

The Executor's strike landed—

But Kael didn't move.

He caught it.

Easily.

Silence.

The Executor's eyes sharpened.

"…So you finally stopped pretending."

Kael smiled slightly.

But it wasn't fully his.

"Now we can fight properly."

The ground beneath them collapsed again.

But this time—

it wasn't chaos.

It was controlled destruction.

The Devouring King spoke through Kael:

"Let me show you why they sealed me last."

The Executor stepped back slightly.

For the first time—

caution.

"…Good."

He raised both hands.

"Then I don't have to hold back."

The air screamed.

And the real fight—

finally began.
