Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Signing the Indentured Servitude Contract

After finishing his taunting, Tom was about to throw Jerry out of the house for the second time.

"Wait a minute, don't throw him yet, Tom!" Seeing Tom's movement, it looked like he was about to throw Jerry out of the house again. Haku was startled and quickly stopped eating his melon, stood up, and called out to Tom in time.

If he was thrown out again this time, the next time Jerry got into the house, it would probably be a long time from now.

Hearing this, Tom's movement, just as he was about to run, suddenly froze. Fortunately, Tom was a cat, and his balance was quite good, otherwise he would have certainly stumbled. After steadying himself, Tom turned his head back to look at Haku with a bewildered expression, not knowing what Haku wanted to do.

Jerry, who was being held in Tom's hand at this moment, had an identical expression to Tom, full of confusion.

Although he didn't know what Haku wanted, Tom didn't casually run to the door, open it, then casually throw Jerry into the air, and finally casually kick Jerry into the trash can. Instead, he held Jerry with one hand and walked to Haku's front, looking a little uneasy.

Haku looked at Jerry, held in Tom's hand, and couldn't help but swallow.

This... was the second Servant he had summoned—Jerry, an existence with combat power close to Tom's.

And Jerry, at this moment, was also looking at Haku, slightly trembling, waiting for Haku to speak, secretly thinking, 'He's not going to make me do hard labor to pay for the broken dishes, is he?' He had no idea what he was about to face. No matter what kind of creature, the most terrifying thing was undoubtedly the unknown.

Staring at Jerry, tightly held in Tom's hand, Haku took a deep breath, then raised his head, and with a chuunibyou-like righteousness, asked, "I ask you, are you my Servant!"

..."?" Hearing this, Jerry squinted his eyes, not reacting to what this meant for a long time. A tangible large question mark even appeared above his head. Finally, Jerry tilted his head and looked at Tom, who was holding him.

However, Tom also completely failed to understand what Haku was saying. He spread his empty left hand and shrugged, indicating that he didn't understand either.

Finally, after the Cat and Mouse exchanged glances, they both looked at Haku in unison, wanting to listen carefully again to what Haku was actually saying.

"What am I saying... so embarrassing..." Seeing that neither the cat nor the mouse responded after he imitated Saber, Haku immediately covered his face with his hand. He rarely encountered such a serious scene that seemed suitable for a cosplay. He had originally thought Jerry would nod, but this reaction directly made him so awkward that he wanted to burrow into a hole, which he hadn't expected.

But thankfully, these weren't humans, but a cat and a mouse, so at least they wouldn't mock him... "Pfft..." However, what he feared most came true. Just as Haku was thinking this, Tom seemed to sense Haku's embarrassment. Although he didn't know why Haku was embarrassed, Tom couldn't help but burst out laughing.

The next moment, Haku's gaze fell on Tom, making him break out in a cold sweat. He quickly stood ramrod straight, beads of sweat the size of beans continuously rolling down his face, and his legs even trembled with fear. He felt that he was probably doomed this time, and was even ready to write his will.

However, Tom's worries were clearly unnecessary. After Haku looked at Tom for a couple more seconds, his... fists hardened!

But in the end, he didn't say anything, and suppressed the resentment of being mocked.

Thinking to himself to calm down, Haku first sat on the floor beside the coffee table, and at the same time said to the Cat and Mouse, "Anyway, sit down first."

Hearing this, Tom and Jerry exchanged glances again and both nodded. Then Jerry used both hands to brace against Tom's hand that was holding him, successfully breaking free. He then leaped down, landing on the coffee table, and sat on top of it.

And Tom also came over and sat on the floor directly behind Jerry.

"You just arrived here, right?" Haku looked at the mouse sitting on the table and asked him.

Jerry lowered his head and pondered for a moment, thinking that he was in another room before he went to sleep, and now he was here after waking up. He guessed that he must have just arrived. So he nodded.

Haku thought, 'As expected.' Jerry was summoned in that previous summoning ritual that he thought was a dud. It was just that the target was too small, and he probably scurried into a mouse hole as soon as he was summoned, which was why Haku didn't notice him.

However, it seemed Jerry didn't have the knowledge of a Servant. Perhaps he just thought he had arrived at a new home. The first time Haku noticed Jerry, he was stealing a half-price bento that Haku had bought.

"Then, I have a proposal. Would you like to hear it?"

Jerry nodded obediently again. He was idle anyway, so listening to what this guy had to say wouldn't hurt.

Seeing Jerry nod, Haku then spoke the proposal he had thought of while waiting, "From now on, I will provide your food and lodging, and you only need to provide a tiny, insignificant bit of help. How about it?"

As he spoke, Haku extended his right hand, making an 'OK' gesture, then slightly separated his index finger and thumb.

As soon as Jerry heard this, his whole mouse-self instantly perked up. He wasn't sleepy anymore when he heard 'food and lodging'.

He didn't expect this person to be so generous, willing to provide food and lodging for a mere mouse like him, and all he needed to provide was that tiny, insignificant bit of help. Tom's owner was clearly a great Samaritan!

Think about it, what kind of help could a human possibly need from a small mouse? He couldn't help with anything at all. Even if he was needed, it would definitely be something very easy, so there was no need to worry at all.

This meant he wouldn't have to do anything from now on and could just eat free food!

Thinking of this, Jerry immediately became anxious, quickly stood up, scurried across the coffee table to Haku's side, grabbed Haku's left index finger with both hands, and quickly shook it, as if afraid Haku would go back on his word.

"Then... happy cooperation!" Seeing such an eager little mouse, Haku was amused. He had so easily recruited a powerful combat force comparable to Tom.

And all he had to pay was a little food. It could almost be considered a win-win, I win twice!

Meanwhile, on the rooftop of a high-rise building somewhere in Fuyuki City.

Two faint blue spirit particle lights flashed, and two girls with different hair colors, one purple and one orange, appeared on the rooftop.

"Is this... Fuyuki City in 1994, Senpai?" Looking at the brightly lit, bustling streets below, it was completely different from the Fuyuki in her memory. In her memory, Fuyuki City was a living hell.
