Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Integrated PathsSol returned to his dorm without delay.

No detours.

No hesitation.

Once inside—

He locked the door.

Closed the curtains.

Silence.

Only then did he sit down.

"System."

[Active]

"Combine current knowledge paths."

[Processing…]

– Rune Structure

– Spell Casting

– Potion Reaction

– Energy Flow

Integration in progress…

Sol closed his eyes.

Magic isn't separate systems…

It's one structure, divided artificially.

That was the mistake most made.

They learned separately.

Practiced separately.

Inefficient.

Minutes passed.

Then—

[Integration Model Generated]

Sol's eyes opened.

"…Let's test."

He raised his hand.

A small fire rune formed.

Stable.

But this time—

He didn't release it.

Instead—

He adjusted its internal flow.

Like a potion reaction.

Slowed certain parts.

Accelerated others.

[Energy Efficiency Increased]

The flame changed.

Not bigger—

But denser.

More controlled.

Sol flicked his finger.

Whoosh.

The flame shot forward—

Silent.

It hit the wall.

Left a deeper mark than before.

Without explosion.

"…Better."

Not stronger—

But optimized.

That was his path.

Not brute force.

Precision.

He stood up.

Next step.

From his desk—

He picked a small vial.

Basic recovery potion.

He opened it.

"System. Modify effect."

[Processing…]

He added a trace of fire energy.

Carefully.

Balanced.

The liquid shifted slightly.

[Potion Effect Enhanced: +22% Recovery]

Sol observed it silently.

Spells… potions…

Same logic.

Different forms.

Same structure.

A faint smile appeared.

This advantage—

No one else had.

But suddenly—

Knock.

Sol's expression returned to normal instantly.

He sealed the vial.

Removed all traces.

Opened the door.

Kael stood outside.

Again.

"…You're persistent," Sol said calmly.

Kael didn't reply immediately.

He stepped inside.

Without asking.

Sol didn't stop him.

Better to observe.

Kael looked around briefly.

Simple room.

No obvious clues.

Then—

His gaze landed on the table.

Empty.

Too clean.

"…You've been experimenting," Kael said.

Not a question.

A statement.

Sol leaned slightly against the wall.

"With what?"

Kael looked at him.

Long.

Careful.

"Multiple fields."

Silence.

Then—

Sol shrugged.

"I read books."

Kael's eyes narrowed slightly.

"…You're either very talented…"

"…or very dangerous."

Sol smiled faintly.

"Maybe both."

For the first time—

A direct answer.

Kael paused.

Then—

A small smile appeared.

"Good."

He turned toward the door.

"The academy rankings open soon."

Sol's eyes shifted slightly.

"…Rankings?"

"Combat, knowledge, application," Kael said.

"All measured."

A pause.

"Top ranks get access… to better resources."

Important.

Very important.

Kael stopped at the door.

"Don't hide too much."

Then added—

"Or you'll miss opportunities."

He left.

Silence returned.

Sol stood still.

Thinking.

Exposure vs gain…

A balance.

Difficult.

But manageable.

He looked at his hand.

A small flame appeared.

Perfectly stable.

I don't need to rush…

But I won't fall behind either.

The ranking system—

Was his next step.

Controlled progress.

Hidden growth.

Calculated rise.

His path remained the same.

Quiet.

But unstoppable.
