Chapter 114 - CHAPTER 114:THE FIRST HOME

The first building in Lenara rose from the ground.

Not a hotel.

Not a school.

A home.

Christabel's home.

Damien's home.

Lena's home.

---

The morning began with news.

Not from the press. From the construction crew.

"Mrs. Moreau, the first building is ready for inspection."

"The first building?"

"The home. The one you designed."

Christabel's heart stopped.

"I designed that months ago."

"And now it's built."

She turned to Damien.

He was smiling.

"You knew?"

"I knew."

"You didn't tell me?"

"I wanted it to be a surprise."

---

The drive to Lenara was long.

The valley was green.

The sky was blue.

Christabel watched the landscape change.

Fields. Trees. Mountains.

And then, the city.

Not a city yet. A skeleton. Streets and foundations and buildings that were still growing.

But in the center, a home.

A small house. Wooden. Warm. The kind of house that belonged in a storybook.

She started crying.

Damien took her hand.

"You're crying."

"I'm fine."

"You're crying."

"They're happy tears."

"Same thing."

"Different intention."

---

They walked to the house together.

The door was open.

The rooms were empty.

But Christabel could see it.

The furniture. The curtains. The photographs on the walls.

"This is ours," she said.

"This is ours."

"Not the penthouse. Not Verona. This."

"A home."

She looked at him.

"Our home."

---

That afternoon, they moved in.

Not furniture. Not boxes.

Just them.

And Lena.

The nanny brought the baby.

Christabel held her daughter.

Walked through each room.

"This is your bedroom, little one," she said.

Lena cooed.

"This is where you'll sleep. Where you'll dream. Where you'll grow."

Lena grabbed her finger.

Held on tight.

"This is where you'll be happy."

---

Damien appeared in the doorway.

"She's awake," he said.

"She's home."

"She's perfect."

"She's ours."

He walked to her.

Took Lena from her arms.

Laid her in the crib.

The crib that had been waiting for her.

The crib that was finally hers.

---

That night, they celebrated.

Not with champagne.

With each other.

The house was dark.

The stars were bright.

Christabel stood at the window.

Looking out at the city that was still growing.

"You did this," Damien said.

"We did this."

"You had the vision."

"You had the strength."

"Same thing."

"Different intention."

---

He walked to her.

Stood behind her.

His hands on her waist.

His lips on her neck.

"The house is empty."

"The house is ours."

"The furniture comes tomorrow."

"Tonight, we have each other."

---

He turned her around.

Looked at her.

"I love you."

"I know."

"I love you in ways I didn't know I was capable of."

She touched his face.

"I know. Because I love you the same way."

---

He undressed her slowly.

Not rushing.

Not methodically.

Reverently.

Like she was something sacred.

Her dress. Her bra. Her underwear.

She stood before him in nothing but skin.

"You're beautiful," he said.

"I'm yours."

"Always."

---

He laid her on the floor.

Not a bed. Not yet.

The hardwood was cold.

Their bodies were warm.

"I love you," he said.

"I know."

"I love every part of you."

"I know."

"The parts that design homes. The parts that cry happy tears. The parts that dream about the future."

She touched his face.

"Then love me."

---

He kissed her neck.

Her collarbone.

The space between her breasts.

She gasped.

"Damien."

"I'm here."

"I need—"

"I know."

---

He moved lower.

His mouth on her stomach. Her hips. Her thighs.

She was shaking.

"Please."

"Please what?"

"Please touch me."

He touched her.

His fingers found her center.

She was wet. Ready. Wanting.

"You're so beautiful," he said.

"Then show me."

---

He entered her.

Slowly.

Deeply.

She wrapped her legs around his waist.

Pulled him closer.

"This is what I needed," she whispered.

"What?"

"You. Us. This."

---

He moved inside her.

Not fast. Not slow.

Somewhere in between.

The way she loved.

She met every thrust.

Held him tight.

"I love you," she said.

"I know."

"I love you so much it hurts."

"I know."

"Don't stop."

"I won't."

---

She came apart beneath him.

Whispering his name.

Holding him close.

He followed.

And when it was over, they lay tangled together.

The house was quiet.

The stars were bright.

"I love you," she said again.

"I know."

"I love you in ways I didn't know I was capable of."

He kissed her forehead.

"I know. Because I love you the same way."

---

They stayed on the floor until the sun came up.

Then they walked to the window.

Looked out at Lenara.

The city was waking.

The workers were arriving.

The future was beginning.

"Today," Christabel said, "we build."

"Today, we build."

"Together?"

"Together."
