One day in the capital, **Roselith**, Julian woke up terrified by a nightmare he had during the night. He got up, went to the bathroom, and washed his face and hands. Suddenly, he heard a voice calling from the kitchen.
**Victoria** shouted loudly: "Julian! Go get some vegetables, we've run out."
Julian replied: "Alright, I'm going."
Julian opened the wardrobe, grabbed his black cloak, and set off to the market. Taking a spare key, he headed down to the main street of the capital, known as **Great Sovereignty Street**. As he wandered, searching for a merchant, he suddenly collided with someone by mistake.
"I apologize!" the stranger said, then fled instantly as if someone were chasing him. Julian reached into his pockets to count his money, but it was gone. He realized the man was a thief. He rushed into the dark, narrow alleys of the capital to find him. The alley was so dim he could barely see, but he spotted wounded men gambling. Suddenly, he saw the thief and yelled: "Stop, thief!"
The thief bumped into another person and dropped the stolen money, but he didn't stop to pick it up; he kept running. Julian knelt to gather his coins when another man approached to check on him.
**Lucas:** "What's wrong?"
**Julian:** "That man was a thief, he stole my money!"
**Lucas:** "He's from a gang here, I know them. I'll speak to the police to deal with them. You should leave now."
**Julian:** "Thank you for the help!"
Julian left the alley, finished his shopping at the market, and stood before a vegetable vendor.
**Julian:** "How much for tomatoes and potatoes?"
**Vendor:** "Five pence for both."
**Julian:** "I'll take a kilogram of each."
He returned home, opened the door, and turned on all the lights.
**Julian:** "I'm back..."
**Victoria:** "Go out if you want, I'm preparing lunch."
**Julian:** "What about breakfast?"
**Victoria:** "Get out, or I'll cut you with this knife in my hand!"
Julian laughed: "Alright, alright..."
He went back out to wander. On his way, he saw a massive festival where people were buying and selling goods. Julian slipped into an alley, and suddenly, someone covered his mouth. He saw people running to catch a criminal. Once the criminal was caught, the man released Julian.
**Julian:** "What did you do?"
**Alex:** "We are a group of criminal investigators. I held you so you wouldn't ruin our mission. I saw your potential; you have a strong focus and a unique insight. Do you want to join us?"
**Julian:** "I don't have any unique powers!"
**Alex:** "You have a very powerful force inside you; you just need to awaken it. Come today to the **George Nexus Library** on First Pyramid Street."
**Julian:** "Alright!"
**Alex:** "Farewell!!"
Julian rushed home to tell his sister. He burst through the door and shouted happily: "I found a job as an investigator!"
**Victoria:** "I'm so happy for you! When do you start?"
**Julian:** "This evening. I'm going to sleep now; call me when lunch is ready."
At the George Nexus Library, two men were talking.
**Alex:** "That boy has great talent and intelligence, but he doesn't know it yet. I want him with us."
**George:** "Fine. I trust your choice of members for our team."
**Alex:** "Thank you, Chief!"
At Julian's house, Victoria was yelling: "Lunch is ready! Come eat!" She called several times, but he didn't hear her. She went in and hit him on the head with a frying pan.
**Julian (startled):** "What's wrong with you, you idiot?"
**Victoria:** "You're the idiot! Get up and eat!"
He sat at the table and ate fresh meat, vegetables, and soup. After finishing, he bid his sister farewell and ran toward the library. Alex was waiting: "Welcome! Follow me inside."
They reached the Chief's office. Alex said: "Go in alone."
Julian entered, saluted the Chief, and said: "I want to register with you."
**George:** "I have a first test for you. Follow me."
George opened a secret door, and they entered.
**George:** "Solve this riddle. In an alley, four people were present. One was killed. The lights were out, and there's no trace of the killer or the weapon.
The 1st said: 'I am innocent.'
The 2nd said: 'I couldn't see anything.'
The 3rd said: 'I was waiting for the light and heard some noise but didn't focus on it.'
The 4th said: 'I was walking to find a way out.'"
**Julian:** "Was the alley very narrow and small?"
**George:** "Yes."
**Julian:** "The 3rd one is the killer. In such a small alley, everyone would have heard the noise, yet no one mentioned it because you didn't ask. He is the guilty one for bringing it up."
**George (impressed):** "Accepted. Your daily salary is one pound!"
**Julian:** "It's an honor!"
Julian went to the locker, grabbed a black cloak and hat. Suddenly, another investigator entered.
**Edward:** "We have a mission. Come."
They jumped into a carriage.
**Edward:** "To Third Pyramid Street. A killer murdered a girl and her mother. No weapon found, but he was spotted there."
**Julian:** "What does he look like?"
**Edward:** "He has facial scars, as if he inflicted them himself."
**Julian:** "Head to Great Sovereignty Street instead."
**Edward:** "Why?"
**Julian:** "He's with a gang. This is a trap; I think he's hiding in a place I know."
They arrived and ran into the alley Julian had entered earlier. They burst through a door and found the criminal. Edward lunged, but the criminal wounded him with a knife. Julian intervened, using incantations.
**Julian:** "**Chains!**"
Magical chains emerged and bound the criminal, but the man swallowed some pills and grew into a giant monster. Edward drew a thin sword and said: "**Flower World!**"
Julian watched in shock as Edward used flowers to attack the giant. With incredible speed, Edward wounded the monster in multiple spots.
**Edward:** "**Flower Blade!**"
Thousands of precise strikes tore the monster apart.
**Edward:** "**Cancel!**"
**Julian:** "What was that?!"
**Edward:** "I'll explain in the carriage."
Inside the carriage:
**Edward:** "This is the world of Sequences. There are nine known paths: 1. Elemental Fire, 2. Light and Darkness, 3. Gluttony of Memories, 4. Divination, 5. Mirror Magic, 6. Soul Devouring (very rare), 7. Priest/Dream-walker/Beast Taming, 8. Void Mist, and 9. Great Sovereign. There are hidden ones too: Sequence 0 is 'Pathways' and Sequence 10 is 'Control Strings'. A lower sequence can beat a higher one if developed well."
**Julian:** "Thank you... now I understand!"
They returned to the library and saluted the Chief.
**George:** "Well done. Here is your pay. You are dismissed for the day."
Julian headed home, satisfied.
