Once he actually tried it, Lin En found the process even simpler than expected.
If he'd known earlier, there was no need to have Aveline go handle the paperwork first.
Though, in the end, it didn't really matter.
So he simply didn't bother docking the ship at all—he let it turn and enter its automatic patrol route instead.
As for himself…
"Not far."
Squinting slightly to gauge the distance, he took a short run-up and leapt—
Landing directly onto the floating ice Aveline had left behind.
Originally, it had been an ice path.
To avoid obstructing traffic on the water, Aveline had only created a narrow strip with limited thickness, even deliberately breaking it every few steps and dispersing the remaining Cryo energy to speed up the melting.
But since not much time had passed—barely a moment apart—the scattered ice fragments were still enough for him to use as stepping stones.
A few light steps later, Lin En had already reached the shore.
Aveline had just begun handling the formalities.
He wasn't in a hurry, so as they had agreed earlier, he walked toward the lift area and started taking in the scenery.
And indeed—
Seeing the other side from this side gave a slightly different feeling.
Even his mood shifted subtly.
Border control across Teyvat wasn't particularly strict.
Usually just a few questions and a simple registration.
With Aveline—a local—vouching for him, even the questioning could be skipped.
She knew the process well and had explained it beforehand, which was why Lin En had been so relaxed.
And just as expected—
No surprises.
In less than five minutes, Aveline returned with the completed documents and handed them to him.
"All done. Let's go."
The two of them called for the lift.
After a bit of waiting—and then a slow ascent—they finally reached the top.
As the doors opened and Lin En stepped onto the terrace, the first thing he saw was the Statue of The Seven of Fontaine.
Behind it stretched a vast, clear blue sky—
So pure it felt like it could cleanse the mind.
Back when he used to play the game, this was one of his favorite idle spots whenever he ran out of resin.
But no matter how high the frame rate—
It couldn't compare to reality.
"Lin En, over here!"
Aveline, however, was already used to the view.
After a quick glance, her attention shifted elsewhere.
"We're lucky—we caught a railboat!"
Lin En snapped out of it and smiled.
He followed her toward the railboat dock on the other side of the terrace.
Scenery could wait.
Aveline clearly wanted to get home as soon as possible.
Once aboard, Aveline spoke familiarly to the Melusine staff member:
"Miss Aibelle, when do we depart?"
As if by coincidence, they got the best possible answer—
"Right away!"
—————
Railboats were… nice.
Not too fast, not too slow.
A beautiful companion at his side.
Scenic views along the way.
And a warm, professional Melusine guide who explained landmarks in a friendly but respectful manner.
Since arriving in this world, this was the first time Lin En had experienced such a normal mode of transportation.
Before this?
Either smuggling ships—where he had to stay alert the whole time, wary of fights breaking out or danger at sea…
Or flying contraptions—motorbike-like or cannon-like—fast, sure, but not exactly enjoyable.
So now, Lin En didn't even mind the lack of a sunshade overhead.
Even under the blazing sun, he felt completely at ease.
Maybe it was his transformed physique.
Or maybe it was the lingering influence of having wielded fire authority.
The sunlight felt warm and comfortable.
Not harsh at all.
If anything… it made him a little sleepy.
Beside him, Aveline was also getting drowsy—
Though in her case, it was probably due to not getting enough sleep last night.
The railboat beneath them seemed to sense their drowsiness as well—
Gradually slowing down.
"…Hmm?"
Lin En noticed something was off.
This wasn't a private vehicle or a personal service.
Public transport didn't just slow down because passengers were sleepy.
And it didn't look like there was any kind of incident either.
He turned toward the only official staff member onboard—
Miss Aibelle, the Melusine guide.
Before he could ask, she spoke first:
"Apologies, you two. We'll need to make a brief stop."
Lin En's expression turned slightly strange.
A stop?
There were stops on this route?
Back in the game, he didn't recall the Clementine Line having any mid-route stations.
Curious, he asked about it.
After all, they weren't in a rush.
If they were, they wouldn't have chosen a sightseeing railboat in the first place.
Might as well take the opportunity to learn about details that only existed in reality.
Aveline's drowsiness faded a bit as well.
Hearing this, she seemed to recall something.
"I think I've heard about this before…"
"Normally, railboats don't stop midway."
"But in cases like this…"
