Huán Líng Zhī Dào — World Glossary(Auxiliary Chapter — Optional Reading)
[This chapter serves as a compendium of information about the world of the novel. The details will be gradually revealed throughout the story and are presented here for reference. It may contain minor spoilers.]
- General Information:
❖ Path of the Spiritual Rings
Power does not reside within the cultivator's body.
It manifests as Spiritual Rings (Ling Huan)—orbits of Qi that revolve around the cultivator's spiritual core, existing beyond the physical body.
Each ring represents a step forward in spiritual evolution.
Unlike other systems, growth does not come from accumulating internal energy… but from constructing and refining these rings.
❖ Ling Huan (Spiritual Rings)
The rings are manifestations of stabilized Qi that orbit the cultivator's core.
Not all rings are equal.
Their strength depends on their resonance, allowing for variations such as:
• Imperfect Rings• Sealed Rings• False Rings• Evolving Rings• Rings with their own will• Rings bound to fate
❖ Resonance
A cultivator's true power does not depend solely on the number of rings, but on the resonance between them and the world.
Greater resonance allows:
• Natural absorption of Qi• More stable physical manifestations• Influence over the surrounding environment
❖ The Limit of Nine Rings
The Nine Rings are the recognized limit among most cultivators.
However, this boundary represents only the edge of what is known… not the true end of the path.
- Cultivation System:
❖ Realm 0 — Spiritual Preparation (Ling Qi)
The initial stage, where the body adapts to Qi.
❖ First Ring — Ling Zhe (Spiritual Practitioner)
❖ Second Ring — Ling Shi (Spiritual Master)
❖ Third Ring — Da Ling Shi (Great Spiritual Master)
❖ Fourth Ring — Ling Jun (Spiritual Lord)
❖ Fifth Ring — Ling Wang (Spiritual King)
❖ Sixth Ring — Ling Huang (Spiritual Emperor)
❖ Seventh Ring — Ling Zong (Spiritual Ancestor)
❖ Eighth Ring — Ling Zun (Venerated Spirit)
❖ Ninth Ring — Ling Sheng (Spiritual Saint)
❖ Beyond the Nine Rings
• Half-Step Huán Di
• Huán Di (Emperor of the Rings)
- Huán Arts Classification:
Cultivation techniques are divided into six ranks:
• Fan Ji (凡级) — Mortal
• Ling Ji (灵级) — Spiritual
• Xuan Ji (玄级) — Profound
• Zhen Ji (真级) — True
• Dao Ji (道级) — Dao-Level
• Tian Dao Ji (天道级) — Heavenly Dao-Level
❖ Sublevels
Each rank is divided into three stages:
• Chu — Initial• Zhong — Intermediate• Yuan — Perfection
❖ Nature of Techniques
The power of a technique does not depend solely on its rank, but on its compatibility with the user's rings.
A cultivator with fewer rings can surpass another if they possess greater resonance or a superior technique.
- Additional Notes:
❖ There exist multiple cultivation paths, regional variations, and divergent methods.
❖ Not all cultivators follow the same development of rings.
❖ The system described here represents only the common understanding of the world.
