Aiko's Point of View
I had loved technology since I was little. I had a loving family; no matter what happened, they supported me.
My mother was Japanese, and my father was from the Super Nation. They both loved each other very much… and I was born.
During the entrance exam, I covered my body with a technological armor. I got this idea from Mechanic, one of the 8 leaders of the Heroes Association. I was his biggest fan because the inventions he made were truly incredible.
After entering the academy, I also made many inventions.
But I thought my telekinetic helmet would definitely be groundbreaking.
However…
Reality was painful.
Seven months had passed.
And I… still couldn't make that helmet work properly.
Not only did I fail—I made it explode multiple times.
Now, no one was willing to test it.
"Normal."
I muttered to myself.
"Who would take the risk of dying?"
If I were rich, I could find people to test it. But I didn't want to be a burden to my family.
So…
I tried it myself.
Boom!!
Suddenly, there was an explosion inside my head.
It felt like someone hit my brain with a hammer.
I'm dying.
I really thought I was going to die.
…
But—
I'm alive?
I opened my eyes.
And I saw him.
A black-haired, thin, pale man.
His face… was strange.
Like the male version of a female character crawling out of a TV in a horror movie.
My body, on the other hand… was wet.
For a moment, the feeling I had was pure happiness.
I'm alive.
But this feeling… was replaced by fear within seconds.
Because the person in front of me… looked scary.
…
Then I realized the truth.
He had tried to help me.
And I—
Judged him based on his appearance…
And acted like a pervert.
…
God.
This… was incredibly embarrassing.
"I would feel less embarrassed if I died right now."
I really wanted to bury my head in the ground.
Just as I was about to leave, I grabbed his arm by reflex.
No.
I couldn't let him go.
If he left, this moment…
Would become one of those embarrassing memories that come to my mind at night.
I had to prevent this.
And… I had to repay my debt.
I learned that his name was Noah.
And honestly…
Aside from his personality, he was quite kind.
I was even sure he would become a superhero after graduating.
But—
I looked at his face carefully for a moment.
Now I could fully see his face from between his bangs.
And…
Wait.
Is this guy… this handsome?
I had seen many decent faces in my life.
But this… was different.
Like he came out of a vampire movie.
Pale but flawless.
His eyes…
Like blood.
But when he smiled—
All that scariness… disappeared instantly.
If he paid a little attention to his appearance… he would definitely become famous.
Definitely.
Moreover, he said he would help me.
…
I wish he were a bad person.
Then my conscience wouldn't hurt this much.
"Is this girl… your girlfriend?"
I flinched at the sudden voice.
A strange pain appeared in my body.
Who is this? Is she his girlfriend? I thought.
Noah reacted instantly.
He turned his head and looked.
"Sarah…"
Who is this girl!?
Of course, Noah knew who this voice belonged to.
He quickly turned to the side and looked at the owner of the voice.
"Sarah…"
Sarah was standing there in shock.
And I understood at that moment why this idiot was shouting. His step-sibling, who was normally asocial and didn't hang out with anyone… was now drinking coffee with a girl. Even if I understood… my God, did you have to be this loud?
"Sister?"
"Sister!?"
This time, it wasn't Sarah shouting—it was Aiko.
"Step-sister."
I answered while looking at her. I still didn't understand why she was shouting.
"Step… sister?"
She repeated these words quietly. At first, I didn't understand what she was thinking.
But her face started turning red… almost like a tomato.
Then—
Her nose?
WHY IS BLOOD COMING FROM HER NOSE, WOMAN, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!?
Even though I didn't say these thoughts out loud, I was sure that both of these women were a bit stupid right now.
Sarah approached, looked at the girl sitting, and asked:
"Hey…"
Her left hand was behind Noah. She made the recently popular "I'm in trouble, I need help" sign while looking at Aiko. On her face, it clearly said, "Is this guy forcing you?"
"A-ah! No, no!"
Aiko waved her hands exaggeratedly. She understood what Sarah meant.
"Sister, why are you here?"
"I lost a bet. That's why I have to get coffee."
"Then why are you shouting this much?"
Sarah gave Noah a look full of contempt and disgust.
Honestly, I could understand what she was thinking just by her face. One part of me wanted to beat this girl… the other part wanted to kill all her boyfriends and make sure she stayed alone for the rest of her life.
Still, I didn't do any of them.
I was turning 15 this month.
As an adult individual, I had to be patient and ignore small grudges for big gains.
In the Super Nation, 15 was adulthood. Still, getting married and having children was allowed starting from 17.
Why?
Simple.
Everyone matured earlier. Because of superpowers, the development of bodies and minds accelerated. The government also changed the laws to adapt to this.
If children committed crimes, they wouldn't be executed… but they could receive life imprisonment.
Honestly, the government's job was very difficult. Controlling millions of superpowered individuals… constantly tracking which one could destroy the country wasn't easy.
If someone with a special superpower appeared, the country could be dragged into chaos.
The Blood Queen who used blood power… or me, the Void…
We were among those kinds of people.
Special superpowers meant that this power would belong to no one else. Not in life, not after death… only to that person.
And honestly… if there were too many of us, the world would have already been destroyed.
Someone like me who can gain abilities by killing… or someone like the Blood Queen who can manipulate blood and even kill S-rank heroes…
These were clearly god-like powers.
Still… none of it mattered against Ze-Light.
Because no one could defeat him.
I don't know how he defeated the Blood Queen. That woman was imprisoned 200 years ago. It is said she wasn't executed because she is immortal… or because Light didn't allow it.
If I find a chance… I want to kill that woman.
But if I attack the prison she is in right now, Light would come before I could reach her.
…
Ah, where were we?
I think I need to stop Aiko from thinking more incest thoughts right now.
Otherwise, if she goes a little further… she will completely embarrass herself.
