Chapter 49 - [You've Found Your Kin]

Upon hearing the voice, Jiang Li was startled and turned around, immediately frowning.

"A miracle! It must be the Sea God who has performed this miracle!"

Xuanzi, who had just crawled out of the rubble, shouted excitedly.

Following closely behind, the other surviving elders of the Sea God Pavilion echoed their excitement.

For no other reason than that the person who called out to Jiang Li at that moment was none other than Mu En, who should have already died.

"Really?"

Jiang Li rarely showed a shocked expression.

He couldn't believe that someone whose brain had been pierced by the Heavenly Reversal Strike and who had been cut in half by the Soul-Releasing Blade, someone who was absolutely impossible to revive, was now standing in front of him again.

But soon, Jiang Li realized something was wrong.

The Moon before him no longer appeared old and frail, but instead appeared to be in the prime of his life.

The moment Jiang Li's gaze met Mu En's, a cold, electronic voice echoed in both of their minds almost simultaneously.

[You have triggered "A Glimpse of Beauty"!] ×2

[You've found someone like you!] ×2

The moment that electronic sound resonated in my mind.

Jiang Li understood everything, and a mocking smile appeared on his lips.

"So you're not Moon after all, just a 'hunter' who's taken over his body."

Upon hearing this, Xuanzi and the others were somewhat puzzled.

But they wouldn't choose to believe Jiang Li's words and almost instantly refuted him.

"How dare you! This is a miracle performed by the Sea God! Don't spout nonsense! Release Shao Zhe now and face your death!"

Xuanzi had the loudest voice, and he was the one who most wanted to kill Jiang Li.

Jiang Li glanced at him coldly, then looked at Mu En and laughed, "We're both hunters, are you trying to stop me?"

"Why not?" Moon replied with a smile.

The moment he finished speaking, a vast amount of soul power erupted from his body.

In the blink of an eye, Jiang Li was enveloped in a barrier.

Just as Jiang Li drew his Heavenly Reversal Sword, intending to fight Mu En again...

Moon suddenly spoke up: "Don't rush to make a move."

"What, do you have any last words to say?" Jiang Li sneered.

To this, Moon waved his hand and explained, "Now you probably know that there will definitely be more than just the two of us hunters on the continent in the future."

"So what?" Jiang Li asked back.

Moon didn't elaborate further, instead saying, "More than that, I'm actually more curious about why you obtained your hunter qualification ahead of time."

Logically speaking, the Hunter System only completed its testing phase a few days ago and then began to be rolled out gradually.

He paused for a moment, then boldly voiced his conjecture.

"So, I guess your Hunter System didn't go through a testing period; it was directly attached to you as soon as it was created."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Li's expression darkened slightly.

He felt that there was indeed a certain probability behind what Moon said.

If what he said is true, then the Hunter System on Jiang Li's body is the original version without any modifications.

But soon, Jiang Li thought of something else and looked at Mu En, asking, "Speaking of which, I'm also curious how you knew that the Hunter System had a testing period?"

"Of course, it's because I'm a beta hunter. All the information I get comes from that fake world that's specifically used to test the hunter system," Moon said without hiding anything.

For him, befriending Jiang Li was the best decision he could make.

Because the Hunter system underwent several modifications during the testing phase, the final version of the Hunter system had limited functionality.

The items sold in the shop are all related to the hunter's own characteristics, and the upper limit of the items sold will never exceed the current world's upper limit.

However, there is a very high probability that the Hunter System on Jiang Li's body did not undergo any testing or correction.

Some of the items sold in their shop are absolutely bug-level.

After hearing Mu En's reply, Jiang Li had already guessed what was going on based on his attitude.

So he smiled and said, "Then how should I address you?"

"Of course, you should still call me Moon. I owe it all to you for destroying his soul, which allowed me to be reborn," Moon laughed.

But just as the two were talking, Yan Shaozhe, who was lying on the ground, felt that his brain was not working properly.

He couldn't understand what hunter qualifications or the hunter system meant at all.

However, he understood that his only savior now was his teacher, Moon.

Although this Moon may not be the original Moon, it does not prevent him from sending a distress call.

So Yan Shaozhe immediately scrambled over to Mu En.

Then he hurriedly said, "Teacher, we absolutely cannot let Jiang Li leave. We must execute him right here and now!"

Upon hearing this, the entire barrier fell silent.

Mu En looked at Yan Shaozhe as if he were an idiot.

Upon noticing his teacher's gaze, Yan Shaozhe felt a strong sense of unease.

The next second, Jiang Li's hand was on his shoulder.

He then said jokingly, "Dean Yan, I never expected you to harbor such malice towards me."

Jiang Li's voice instantly startled Yan Shaozhe, who immediately broke free from his grasp.

Then he hurriedly fled behind Moon, trying to seek refuge.

Seeing this, Jiang Li calmly asked, "Mu En, you don't mind if I take your disciple with me to report back, do you?"

"Teacher, you must save me! I'll die if I'm taken away!"

Yan Shaozhe was frightened and quickly grabbed Mu En's arm to beg.

But the next second, Moon's answer made him freeze in place.

Suddenly, Mu En, who had been silent, smiled and said without hesitation, "Of course I don't mind. He's not my disciple."

As soon as he finished speaking, Yan Shaozhe seemed to have been struck by lightning, and the expression on his face was one of utter terror.

He involuntarily took a few steps back, staring blankly at Moon, and stammered, "You...you're not my teacher..."

"Hahaha! How could you idiot not see that you just refuse to accept the truth!"

Upon hearing this, Mu En suddenly burst into laughter, blatantly shattering the last glimmer of hope in Yan Shaozhe's heart.

Upon seeing this, Jiang Li, who was standing nearby, laughed and said, "Haha, Dean Yan, it seems your teacher is unwilling to protect you."

In an instant, their mocking laughter echoed throughout the entire barrier.

Yan Shaozhe seemed to have lost his soul, and collapsed uncontrollably to the ground.

He was no longer able to think; all that remained in his mind were Jiang Li and Mu En's mocking laughter.

The laughter was like a demonic sound, lingering in his heart again and again.

After an unknown amount of time, the area inside the barrier fell silent once more.

Yan Shaozhe slumped to the ground, his eyes vacant.

Mu En then looked at Jiang Li and said with a smile, "You better not let this idiot come back alive. I still want to continue being the master of the Sea God Pavilion."

"Of course, he will never come back," Jiang Li nodded slightly.

After saying that, the two stopped talking and started acting after knocking Yan Shaozhe unconscious.

outside world.

Xuanzi and the others did not know what had happened inside the barrier, but they believed that Mu En, who had been reborn, could definitely defeat Jiang Li.

But as the barrier shattered, a truly embarrassing scene unfolded.

Moon knelt on the ground, clutching his chest as if he were seriously injured.

Jiang Li, carrying Yan Shaozhe in one hand, laughed loudly and fled Shrek Academy without looking back.
