Chapter 5 - May You Have Many Babies!

Lilian nodded. "Yes, I agree to it. We can get a divorce and then you can be free to marry your mistress. Doesn't this just make flowers bloom in your world? I know."

She chuckled.

But Caesar had not said a word up until now. He just gazed at her.

"Since when…did you change your mind?" Maybe because Lilian did not care, she did not hear the slight tremble in the man's tone.

Her smile rather widened. "I'm a business woman. I cannot be losing out now, can I? As you know, my family is nothing compared to your family. And so, I will accept the offer you made when you asked for divorce."

"What offer?" Caesar questioned.

"What else?" Lilian rubbed her fingers. "Money. You proposed a hundred million if I sign the papers. Now, I'm agreeing. We can get the divorce right away. You just have to wire the millions to my account, and then it's done. We don't ever have to see each other again afterwards. How about that?"

It was unclear what reaction was expected of Caesar at this moment, but it was not for him to storm over to her and grasp her wrist. He yanked her upright on the bed. "What is going on with you?"

"And what do you mean?" Lilian frowned. She glanced at where he held her.

"Why have you suddenly agreed?" he questioned. "Just because of a measly hundred million?"

Measly? Maybe in my original life. But in this life, I am anything but rich. A hundred million is not measly.

She scoffed, "What's it to you? And why are you behaving like this? Didn't you want the divorce? Now I'm giving it to you, and you're acting like I've wronged you. Just wire the money to my account and stop all these."

She tried to break free. But he wouldn't let go. Caesar glared daggers at her. His gaze was frosty, it was hostile, and it was just so pressuring.

What is his problem?

"Let's get this over and done with Caesar. I need to get out of this house as soon as possible."

"Is that so?" Caesar let out through gritted teeth. "You want to leave that badly?"

She raised a brow at him. "Isn't it what you wanted? What are you looking at me like that for? Or you just don't want anything good for me? You can't even give me 100 million? Hey, have pity, alright? You're already divorcing me, let me have this much."

She scoffed in disgust. "How can someone be so stingy!"

Caesar flung her hand aside. He said nothing more but backed away from her. He snatched his cell phone from the sofa and made a transfer.

The alert ringing came into Lilian's phone. She confirmed the transfer, and her face lit up with joy.

Seeing this only made the man infuriated. She really could not understand what the cause of his displeasure was. This is a win-win situation.

"Get out."

His sudden hostile bite snapped her back to reality.

She furrowed her brows.

"I said, get out." This time he did not wait for her but stormed over and grasped her arm.

"Ow! Ow! That hurts!"

He shoved her out of the room, and before she could utter a word, he slammed the door shut in her face.

Lilian blinked severally. "You didn't even let me sign the papers. It's not as if I'm unwilling." She shook her head, but then her face lit up with glee.

She'd thought she was doomed in this place, as she had 0 money in her account. But now…through this sweet deal, she'd easily made a hundred million.

"Fantastic. Hahahahaha." Spinning around, she bounced away on her feet to use one of the guest rooms.

Proving nonsense and sleeping in the basement, all of it be damned. Once the divorce was completely processed tomorrow, she'd be gone with the wind.

Poof!

The very next morning, three figures sat at the dining table well dressed. But among them, only one woman was eating to her heart's content. Naturally, it was Lilian.

She stuffed her face with food, her expression bright with happiness like never before. She was glowing like a torch light.

Eventually she glanced up. Vivian stared at her with confusion while Caesar watched her with an unreadable expression.

She spoke with food in her mouth. "Why are neither of you eating? Today is a good day. So many sweet treats."

Caesar's hands clenched and unclenched beneath the table. He looked at the luggage next to Lilian. She had packed her things. She was leaving.

"Ah!" Lillian suddenly snapped her fingers. She swallowed the rest of her food and reached across the table for a bunch of papers. She picked up a pen and proceeded to sign every blank box within the papers.

Done, she shifted them toward Caesar. She said, "The divorce papers are signed. This has sealed it, Caesar. You and I are no longer married. You are free now."

She grabbed a cookie, and as she ate it, she rose from the seat.

"I wish you two so many babies, eh? Invite me to the wedding too, will you?" Lilian grabbed the handle of her suitcase. She had only taken a few steps when she stopped. "Ah! I forgot something."

"Caesar," she called his name. Her voice… her tone…

Why the man turned to her immediately, even he did not know. But it was too late by the time he realized. He had already locked eyes with her.

Lilian momentarily let go of her luggage. She approached him and, without saying a word, she grabbed his jaw, leaned down, and pressed a crushing kiss to his cheek. It was so close to his mouth that if she'd moved just a little bit more, the kiss would have rested upon his lips.

She pulled back. She sucked on her teeth as she stared at him, but then she chuckled. That was it, and then she was leaving.

Caesar sat unmoving. He was confused. He did not understand what was happening anymore. What was the meaning of this?

Could he have known this one kiss that meant nothing would end up becoming a bewitching spell that ruins his life?

At this table, though, someone was rather happy. Vivian could not believe for a while that Lilian had really signed the divorce papers. How hard she'd fought to have this, and finally it had happened.

She hurried over to Caesar and settled herself into his lap. "Caesar, do you know what this means? We can finally get married! You're no longer married. The netizens cannot criticize us. You're a free man now! This is what we've always wanted. Isn't it wonderful?"

The man who was expected to have smiles on his very handsome face rather sat, expressionless and stone cold. He looked unapproachable and as if he would freeze anyone who came near him with merely his gaze.

His only response to Vivian's enthusiasm was a simple… "Mn."
