Victor led the frontal assault personally.
His Electrode floated silently at his side while Sceptile and Magmar advanced just ahead of him. There was something reassuring about watching a leader march toward the enemy instead of barking orders from the rear. Men naturally followed someone willing to risk his own life alongside theirs.
Victor slowly drew his blade before turning toward the assembled Rockets.
"Brothers."
His voice wasn't particularly loud, yet the cave entrance fell silent.
"Tonight, we will soak the desert sand in the blood of our enemies."
A savage grin crossed his face.
"Strike without mercy."
He pointed his sword toward the Luminary Court base.
"Fight to your heart's content."
His expression turned ice cold.
"Leave none alive."
The assembled Rockets erupted into deafening cheers.
The desert shook with the combined roars of trainers and pokemon alike. The killing intent radiating from the group was almost tangible.
Silas watched quietly.
Victor raised his hand as he yelled.
"Charge!"
The Rocket force surged forward like a tidal wave.
The Luminary Court had already been alerted by Tropius' bombardment, and their defenders emerged from the damaged oasis compound to meet the assault head on.
Several figures wearing pristine white cloaks stood calmly before the entrance while numerous pokemon assembled around them.
Silas immediately noticed one species in particular.
The strange pokemon possessed rabbit like heads while the rest of their bodies were composed entirely of crystalline stone covered with colorful gems.
He activated Hermes without hesitation.
Carbink — Level 48

Silas' eyes widened slightly.
Those pokemon weren't dangerous because of their offense.
They were dangerous because of their sturdy defensive power and variety of support moves.
"Those pokemon are called Carbink!"
His voice carried across the battlefield.
"They have extremely weak attack power but terrifying defensive power! They're weak to Water, Grass, and Steel!"
Several Rockets immediately altered their strategies.
Team Rocket was far from a united family. Members frequently competed, stole from one another, and occasionally even killed each other over valuable resources.
Mission time was different. No Rocket would deliberately sabotage an operation.
Silas' information spread through the assault force almost immediately.
A massive Machamp and an equally imposing Medicham stepped forward.
Both were Level 51.
Their trainer wasted no time.
"Machamp! Combine Earthquake and Bullet Punch!"
"Medicham! Combine Bullet Punch and Close Combat!"
The two Fighting-types exploded into motion.
Machamp slammed both fists into the ground.
Earthquake surged through the battlefield.
At the same moment, his four fists blurred into a barrage of Bullet Punches. Every impact generated another violent tremor, layering shockwaves together into a devastating combination.
Medicham's approach was simpler but no less effective.
Bullet Punch enhanced the speed and force of every strike before Close Combat followed with an overwhelming flurry of blows.
The Carbink line shuddered.
Two fell before Machamp.
Two more collapsed beneath Medicham.
Even so…
Six still remained.
Silas wasn't surprised.
Carbink were infamous for their resilience.
The surviving defenders quickly responded using Reflect and Light Screen.
2 shimmering barriers spread across the battlefield, one physical, one special.
Several younger Rockets visibly hesitated.
Victor merely smiled.
"So that's your plan."
He looked toward his 2 Fighting types.
"Both of you, use Brick Break."
The answer was immediate.
Machamp and Medicham smashed directly into the barriers.
Like glass struck by hammers, both Reflect and Light Screen shattered instantly.
One of the white cloaked trainers finally intervened.
"Carbink, combine your Protect!"
The remaining 6 Carbink moved together with astonishing precision.
A single massive protective barrier formed around all of them simultaneously.
Silas immediately understood.
They had trained this maneuver countless times.
Victor understood as well.
"Magmar, double Fire Blast."
"Electrode, use Thunder. Sceptile, use Solar Beam."
3 devastating attacks converged simultaneously.
The timing was perfect.
The instant Protect disappeared, the attacks landed.
One Carbink leapt in front of the others without hesitation.
The explosion engulfed the entire defensive formation.
Sand and smoke blasted skyward.
Silas watched carefully.
This wasn't random.
These pokemon had clearly rehearsed this exact sequence before.
When the smoke cleared, only the lead Carbink had fallen.
The remaining 5 had survived, though they were visibly shaken and carried varying degrees of injury.
"Tropius, use Razor Leaf!"
Several razor sharp leaves swept across the battlefield before Tropius immediately followed with Leaf Blade against the weakest remaining defender.
The wounded Carbink collapsed.
Another opening appeared in the enemy line.
Before Team Rocket could capitalize further, columns of flame erupted across the battlefield.
Flamethrower, Fire Blast, and Heat Wave combined for a powerful display.
Several Pyroar burst from the compound while a lone man rode atop one of the most imposing pokemon Silas had ever seen.
Heatran.
Even before scanning it, Silas recognized its rarity.
Unlike the legendary birds or the Regi trio, Heatran belonged to a species that reproduced naturally.
They were incredibly rare.
But not unique.
Hermes activated.
Heatran — Level 65 (Suppressed to 54)

Heatran opened its mouth.
The Pyroar followed suit.
An overwhelming sea of fire crashed toward Team Rocket.
Several Ground and Rock specialists reacted instantly.
"Sandstorm!"
A dozen Pokémon combined their power to create a massive Sandstorm. It merged into a towering wall of swirling sand.
Fire and sand collided.
The resulting explosion shook the battlefield.
Visibility dropped almost to zero.
Silas smiled.
Perfect.
"Frogadier."
Through their telepathic connection, Silas shared his senses directly with Frogadier.
The ninja pokemon disappeared into the shadows.
Several seconds later, a muffled scream rang out.
Frogadier emerged from beneath one unsuspecting trainer, knocking him unconscious before stealing every pokeball attached to his belt.
Unfortunately, that was only one trainer.
The battlefield had already descended into complete chaos.
The explosion separated both armies into dozens of smaller engagements.
Silas quickly found himself facing a single Luminary Court trainer.
3 pokemon stood before the man.
Aegislash, Tyrantrum, and Chesnaught.
Tyrantrum and Aegislash were both Level 43 while Chesnaught stood at Level 46.
Silas released three pokemon of his own.
Ursaring, Monferno, and Electabuzz appeared and took defensive stances.
Silas calmly took the initiative.
"Monferno, use Flamethrower. Electabuzz, If they dodge, redirect it with Psychic. Ursaring, use Dragon Dance."
Monferno unleashed a torrent of flames.
Exactly as expected, Tyrantrum stepped directly into its path.
Fire washed harmlessly across the dinosaur's body.
Its strong rock and dragon type body naturally resisted fire.
The enemy immediately counterattacked.
"Chesnaught, use Wood Hammer!"
Chesnaught launched itself toward Electabuzz with astonishing speed.
Electabuzz crossed both arms as Wood Hammer slammed into him. He skidded backward several feet but refused to fall.
"Stay calm and use Psychic."
Electabuzz's eyes glowed blue.
Invisible force wrapped around Chesnaught.
The massive Grass type froze in place.
Silas smiled.
"Ursaring, use Slash."
At almost the same moment, Tyrantrum completed Rock Polish.
"Tyrantrum, use Draco Meteor then Crunch."
"Aegislash, use Shadow Sneak!"
Tyrantrum ran towards Electabuzz as he launched an orb of draconic energy into the sky that split into 6 meteors.
Tyrantrum's newfound speed caught Electabuzz off guard but not by too much.
"Electabuzz, use Brick Break defensively then use Thunder Wave."
Tyrantrum bit down fiercely with its jaws coated with violent dark type energy. Although powerful, Electabuzz's arm remained intact due the hardened state of its arm.
Afterwards, blue electricity erupted from Electabuzz's body and shot into Tyrantrum. The paralysis prevented it from moving.
The enemy had committed Chesnaught without adequate support.
They had offered him a gift.
Ursaring blurred forward.
Slash carved deeply through Chesnaught's front leg.
Blood sprayed across the battlefield.
The wound reached nearly halfway through the limb.
Chesnaught screamed in agony.
Its mobility had been crippled instantly.
Aegislash finally arrived, only to meet Monferno.
Rather than dodge Shadow Sneak, Monferno endured the hit before retaliating immediately.
Flamethrower exploded into Aegislash from close range.
Everything had gone according to Silas' plan.
The enemy trainer attempted to recall Chesnaught immediately.
A red beam shot toward the wounded pokemon.
Monferno deliberately stepped into its path.
The recall failed.
Silas smiled coldly.
"You think your Chesnaught can come and go as he pleases? Unfortunately, there's a toll. Frogadier, do it."
The shadows beneath the trainer suddenly rippled.
Frogadier burst upward.
With one smooth motion, he snatched the trainer's active pokeball along with two others before disappearing again.
He reappeared beside Silas moments later.
Silas examined them quickly.
One contained a young Fletchling and another was empty meaning the third belonged to the pokemon currently battling him.
Silas immediately fired the captured pokeball toward Tyrantrum.
A flash of red light engulfed Tyrantrum.
He immediately repeated the process.
Chesnaught vanished as well leaving only Aegislash.
Silas sealed all 3 captured pokeballs.
"Great job, Frogadier. You secured our victory."
Frogadier's eyes brightened.
Silas gently rubbed his head.
Pokemon thrived under acknowledgement.
Silas understood that better than most trainers.
The opposing trainer remained surprisingly calm.
"I'd really like to test that confidence of yours. Aegislash, don't leave my side."
He reached beneath his shirt.
A single black pokeball hung around his neck.
Unlike the others, this one had never been exposed.
Silas immediately became wary.
The ball opened and a familiar pokemon appeared.
Beedrill.
Silas felt an involuntary twitch in his eye.
Why was it always Beedrill?
For some reason, those pokemon had become a recurring nightmare throughout his journey.
The Luminary Court trainer calmly removed a strange black pearl from his pocket.
"DIVINE POWER DESCEND UPON THIS WORLD AND SMITE MY ENEMIES."
He tossed the pearl.
Beedrill swallowed it immediately.
The change began.
Light erupted from its body.
A massive cocoon of brilliant radiance enveloped the pokemon.
Within the light, Silas could vaguely make out a giant DNA strand rotating around the transforming Beedrill.
His pupils contracted.
He recognized it instantly. This was Mega Evolution.
The light shattered.
A far deadlier Beedrill hovered where the ordinary one had been moments before.
Its wings produced a sharp, terrifying hum that seemed to vibrate through the surrounding air.
Every movement carried lethal precision. This wasn't simply a stronger Beedrill. It was a predator engineered specifically for assassination.
Silas activated Hermes immediately.

Silas immediately changed tactics.
Tropius returned to her pokeball.
Against something this fast, leaving her exposed would be suicidal.
He released 3 more pokemon; Espeon, Hippowdon, and Excadrill.
No commands were necessary. They already understood their roles.
Sand Stream erupted.
A violent Sandstorm engulfed Beedrill and Excadrill simultaneously.
Espeon, Electabuzz, and Monferno all began using Calm Mind. Ursaring resumed Dragon Dance.
Silas intended to overwhelm the Mega Evolution through preparation.
"Excadrill, use Crush Claw."
"Beedrill, useRock Smash."
Steel claw met glowing stinger.
The impact echoed across the battlefield.
Again.
Again.
Again.
Despite the level disadvantage, Excadrill refused to yield.
He successfully exchanged several blows before Beedrill finally adapted.
"X Scissor."
The spinning slash carved directly through the surrounding Sandstorm.
The winds dispersed instantly.
Excadrill's Sand Rush vanished.
"Drill Run."
Beedrill disappeared.
It reappeared directly in front of Excadrill.
"Protect!"
A green barrier formed just in time.
Drill Run crashed into it.
The shield absorbed most of the impact, though the remaining force still injured Excadrill.
Silas remained satisfied.
Excadrill had exceeded expectations.
He had survived against a Mega Evolved opponent stronger than himself.
That alone spoke volumes.
"Excadrill, Excellent work. Withdraw for now.
Excadrill immediately burrowed underground with Dig.
Beedrill buzzed furiously.
Its prey had escaped.
Humiliation.
"Now, the real fun begins."
Silas smiled.
"Ursaring, use Swift."
Glowing stars materialized overhead before converging upon Beedrill.
"Beedrill, use Electroweb."
Its stinger crackled with electricity before a sphere of electricity shot out. It then expanded into a web, intercepting every star in 1 fell swoop.
The resulting explosions illuminated the battlefield.
"Beedrill, use Poison Jab."
Beedrill vanished once more.
Its speed was terrifying.
Before either pokemon could fully react, Ursaring and Espeon were struck.
Ursaring staggered.
Purple poison spread rapidly through his body.
Silas' eyes lit up.
Guts activated since Ursaring was now poisoned.
His attack power increased dramatically.
"Ursaring, use Slash!"
"Beedrill, counter with X Scissor."
The two attacks collided.
Even empowered by Guts and Dragon Dance, Ursaring still lost.
Beedrill immediately followed with another Poison Jab.
Its stinger pierced completely through Ursaring's shoulder.
Blood splashed across the sand.
"Ursaring, this is your chance, grab him! Combine Strength and Bite!"
Ignoring the pain entirely, Ursaring wrapped both arms around Beedrill before clamping his jaws down hard.
Beedrill flinched.
"Electabuzz, use Thunder Wave!"
Electricity exploded through both pokemon simultaneously.
Paralysis.
Neither escaped unscathed.
The Luminary Court trainer reacted instantly.
"Beedrill, use Venoshock!"
Purple electricity surged directly into Ursaring. His body convulsed violently before collapsing.
Beedrill immediately lunged to finish him.
A torrent of flames forced it backward.
Monferno's intervention had prevented the unthinkable.
Silas returned Ursaring without hesitation.
His expression remained calm but fierce.
