Chapter 1 - Dryad In Another World 1

"Why did I agree to this!?" I screamed, continuing to ruffle my smooth green hair.

I looked down on the pond in front of me and saw the image of myself. A beauty out of a fantasy world is what's reflected on it. A naked beauty with golden eyes, green short hair, and a perfect body.

I was previously just an ordinary man on my way to a convinience store, when I suddenly encountered a crazy pervert threatening a group of young women with a knife. I of course tried to intervene, but that was my downfall. I was struck on the chest and bled out.

Right after I died, I was summoned by a self-proclaimed goddess, and was convinced to reincarnate into this world.

I was not like myself back then. I remember feeling light-headed or half-awake. Was that the feeling of being drugged, and then being coerced into doing something I didn't mean to? It was!

You sneaky bastard...

I then remembered the task I was given, and my head flashed red.

To give birth to children. To repopulate the world. To replenish life.

I was a man!

"What should I do? Mom, dad, your son is now a daughter. And I apparently need to give birth to many children. I'm sure you'll be happy to have them..." I cried.

After crying for over an hour, I decided to get over it and find something to cover myself with. At the moment, I'm like eve in the garden, completely bare to my feet. Quickly, I found some vines and thick leaves to make a makeshift underwear. Only on the bottom, as I forgot I was now a woman.

They're bouncing so much...

My breasts were so big, they jiggle with my every step. They're inconvenient. Worse, they're heavy.

Is this what every woman goes through?

Reluctantly, I made a makeshift bra as well.

With clothes on, I finally went to see the place I ended up in.

In front of me is a sparkling pond, filled with fishes and tadpoles. It should be a good source of food. I have a feeling its water should also be safe to drink.

Turning around, there's a tall, beautiful tree, looming but shining on me with the help of the morning sunlight. Apparently, it's my real body.

It's different from all the other trees around. It's thick and seemingly formidable. The sun-kissed color of its trunk reflects the sunlight and making a majestic illusion of glitters. One could tell, it's magical at a glance.

As my main body, I do feel a distinct connection to it. Whenever I'm around it, I feel safe and secure. It's comforting like that of a home. From now on, I'll rest and sleep just beside it.

"How do I even take care of it?" I tilted my head.

It's a magical tree, so there should be magical ways to take care of it. But I'm not an expert in either magic or trees, so I don't have a clue. The best I could do for it is to guard it from animals who might try to use it as shelter.

And lastly, there's the small forest that surrounds me completely. I cannot see where the trees lead to at all. Perhaps just a deeper forest.

I thought I should see it for myself.

I walked passed the trees and quickly realized they don't actually spread so far. With just a few steps, I reached the end of the forest, and I was greeted by a scorching hot desert. Rather than a forest, it seems I was in a desert oasis.

So this is what that goddess meant when she said this world is dying?

As far as my eyes can see, there's only yellow sand and stones.
