Chapter 10 - Refining ocean core pill...

The roar of the waterfall faded into the background as Alex sat quietly, the Ocean Shore Pill resting in his palm. Its deep blue glow pulsed like a heartbeat, radiating dense water energy.

Yi Zhau stood nearby, his translucent figure calm, yet carrying an overwhelming presence.

"You have awakened your soul," he began slowly. "Now… you stand at the threshold of becoming something far greater."

Alex lifted his eyes.

"An Alchemist?"

Yi Zhau nodded slightly.

"Yes."

A brief silence passed before he continued.

"Alchemy is not merely the act of refining pills. It is the art of control, the balance between elemental energy and soul power."

He stepped forward, his voice deepening.

"There are ten tiers of Alchemists."

Alex listened carefully.

"Tier 1 – Apprentice Alchemist

Basic understanding. High failure. No real control."

"Tier 2 – Novice Alchemist

Slight improvement. Can refine simple pills."

"Tier 3 – Skilled Alchemist

Stable refinement. Basic elemental infusion."

"Tier 4 – Advanced Alchemist

Better precision. Combat-use pills."

"Tier 5 – Expert Alchemist

High-quality output. Strong control."

"Tier 6 – Master Alchemist

Rare pills. Can influence cultivation."

"Tier 7 – Grandmaster Alchemist

Affects both body and soul."

"Tier 8 – Peak Mastery

Near perfection. Extremely powerful pills."

"Tier 9 – Sovereign Alchemist

Legendary. Can alter destiny itself."

"Tier 10 – Infinity Alchemist

The absolute peak… beyond limits."

The air grew still.

Alex absorbed every word.

"So to refine this pill…"

He looked at the Ocean Shore Pill again.

"…I need to reach these levels?"

Yi Zhau shook his head slightly.

"No."

"With me here… you only need the foundation."

He paused, his gaze sharpening.

"To become a true Alchemist, you need two things."

"First… control over your soul."

"Second… a master who shows the right path."

Alex remained silent.

Yi Zhau raised his hand slightly.

"Now… open your ring."

Alex did as told.

The space within the ring unfolded before him.

Countless items floated in silence.

Yi Zhau's voice echoed.

"Find it."

Alex searched.

Then—

He saw it.

A massive object resting in the void.

Ancient.

Heavy.

Covered in faint inscriptions.

He pulled it out.

The moment it appeared in the real world—

A deep pressure spread through the surroundings.

A cauldron.

Dark in color.

Its surface etched with complex patterns.

Faint energy flowed across it like veins.

"What is this…?"

Yi Zhau spoke with quiet pride.

"The Heavenly Refining Cauldron."

Alex's eyes widened slightly.

"It has accompanied me for centuries."

"It is capable of refining even Tier 9 pills."

The air around the cauldron felt dense.

Ancient.

Powerful.

Alex stepped closer.

He extended his hand.

And tried to lift it.

The moment his fingers touched it—

A crushing weight pressed down on him.

His body trembled.

His knees bent slightly.

It felt like lifting an entire mountain.

No—

Heavier.

His hand slipped.

He stepped back, breathing heavier.

"It's… impossible."

Yi Zhau let out a faint scoff.

"Foolish."

"You are trying to lift it with your body."

He raised his hand slightly.

"Lift it with your soul."

Alex paused.

Then—

He understood.

He steadied his breathing.

Closed his eyes.

Focused.

A faint white glow appeared around his hand.

Soft.

Subtle.

But real.

He reached out again.

This time—

The moment he touched the cauldron—

The weight vanished.

It rose effortlessly.

Floating in the air.

Light as nothing.

Alex's eyes opened.

A hint of surprise flashed through them.

"It feels… weightless."

Yi Zhau nodded slightly.

"Because now… you are not using strength."

"You are using control."

The cauldron floated before him.

Stable.

Silent.

Yi Zhau continued.

"Every creature possesses a flame."

"Hidden deep within."

"It is the origin of transformation."

He looked directly at Alex.

"An Alchemist does not borrow fire…"

"He awakens his own."

Alex frowned slightly.

"How?"

Yi Zhau's voice lowered.

"Feel your body."

"Feel your energy."

"Find the warmth within."

Alex closed his eyes again.

He focused inward.

At first—

Nothing.

Only silence.

Then—

A faint warmth.

Deep inside.

Weak.

Almost invisible.

But present.

He concentrated on it.

The warmth grew.

Slowly.

Steadily.

A small flicker appeared.

A flame.

Faint blue.

Unstable.

But alive.

Yi Zhau observed quietly.

"Good."

"But do not rush."

"Guide it."

Alex extended his hand.

The flame moved.

Slowly rising.

Hovering above his palm.

The air around it trembled.

Yi Zhau spoke again.

"Now… place the pill inside the cauldron."

Alex did so carefully.

The Ocean Shore Pill floated into the cauldron.

Its glow intensified slightly.

"Begin."

Alex directed his flame toward the cauldron.

The moment the flame touched it—

The surface of the cauldron lit up.

The inscriptions began to glow.

The energy within the pill reacted instantly.

It resisted.

Violently.

The cauldron trembled.

Alex's expression tightened.

"It's unstable…"

"Of course it is."

Yi Zhau's tone remained calm.

"It is a natural pill."

"It does not wish to be controlled."

"Then what should I do?"

"Do not suppress it…"

"…refine it."

Alex focused.

He adjusted the flame.

Not forcing.

Not attacking.

But guiding.

The energy within the pill began to settle slightly.

The violent fluctuations reduced.

But suddenly—

A surge of energy burst out.

The flame flickered violently.

Alex's control wavered.

The cauldron shook.

Yi Zhau stepped forward slightly.

"Steady."

"Your flame is not the problem."

"Your mind is."

Alex clenched his teeth.

He steadied his breathing.

Focused again.

This time—

He did not try to overpower the energy.

He listened to it.

Understood its flow.

Its rhythm.

Slowly…

The flame stabilized.

The energy within the pill began to change.

Impurities separated.

Burned away.

The blue glow became clearer.

Purified.

Time passed.

The process continued.

Slow.

Precise.

Controlled.

Sweat formed on Alex's forehead.

But his focus did not break.

Yi Zhau watched silently.

A faint hint of approval in his eyes.

Finally—

The cauldron stopped trembling.

The energy settled completely.

"Now… finish it."

Alex increased the flame slightly.

The final impurities burned away.

The pill glowed brilliantly.

Pure.

Stable.

Perfect.

He slowly withdrew the flame.

The cauldron opened.

The pill floated out.

Its light calm.

Its energy refined.

Alex caught it gently.

His breathing heavy.

But steady.

"I… did it."

Yi Zhau nodded.

"For your first attempt…"

"…acceptable."

But his eyes held a faint satisfaction.

Alex looked at the pill.

It felt different now.

Controlled.

Complete.

Not wild anymore.

Yi Zhau turned slightly.

"Remember this…"

"Power without control… destroys."

"But control…"

"…creates perfection."

The waterfall roared endlessly behind them.

But Alex stood still.

Holding the refined pill.

For the first time—

He had not just gained power.

He had shaped it.

"True strength is not in possessing power…

but in mastering it."
