Chapter 4 - First Mission

A gentle morning breeze slipped through the half-open window, carrying the fresh scent of dew-kissed grass into Ren's room. The door creaked open slowly, and Yumiko stepped inside, wrapped in a long brown bodycon dress that clung to her voluptuous figure like it had been poured over her curves. The deep neckline revealed a generous, eye-catching cleavage, the soft fabric stretching tightly across her massive breasts and wide hips.

"Time to wake up, honey," she said softly, her voice warm and affectionate. "I know today is Sunday, but you can't sleep the entire day away like this."

Her gaze drifted to the scattered game controllers and Blu-ray disks littering the floor. A soft, amused smile touched her lips. "And you didn't put these things back in their proper place before sleeping."

She gracefully lowered herself to her knees, the tight brown dress stretching dramatically over her thick thighs and round ass. Leaning forward to gather the items, her enormous breasts hung heavily, the deep cleavage on full display as the fabric strained against her chest.

"Besides… today is your first day at the Devourer Guild, right?" she whispered playfully, carefully placing the controllers and disks back into their case.

Ren's eyes snapped open instantly. In a flash, he sat up, all traces of sleep gone. "That's right! Today is my first official day as a Devourer!" he exclaimed, excitement sparkling in his voice.

Yumiko rose to her feet and crossed her arms beneath her huge breasts, deliberately pushing them up even more prominently. She tilted her head with a playful smirk. "I just whispered that… and you heard it?"

Ren scratched the back of his head nervously, cheeks flushing. "Uh… good hearing?" Without waiting for a reply, he jumped out of bed and dashed toward the stairs. "I'm going to take a bath! Please put my clothes in the basket and get breakfast ready!" he called out in a rush before disappearing downstairs.

Yumiko hurried to the doorway and leaned over the railing, watching him with a fond sigh. "You're always in such a hurry… That's exactly why you should wake up earlier," she murmured, shaking her head with a soft laugh before heading down to the kitchen.

In the living room, Yukie was exercising energetically while following a workout program on TV. Her sports bra struggled to contain her massive breasts as she stretched her arms upward, the fabric stretching tight with every movement.

"Stepmom, where's my juice?" she asked, slightly out of breath, extending her hand.

Yumiko quickly poured a glass of fresh juice and set Ren's breakfast plate on the table. "Just a second, sweetie," she replied warmly. She arranged a neatly made sandwich on the plate, picked up the juice, and walked toward the living room, her hips swaying seductively with every step, the bodycon dress hugging her generous curves.

"You're very hardworking, sweetie," Yumiko said with a gentle smile as she placed the glass on the table in front of Yukie.

Yukie grabbed a towel and wiped the sweat from her neck and face before shooting Yumiko a serious look. "I'm not like that idiot who spends all day playing video games," she said strictly, then dropped onto the couch and took a long sip of juice.

Yumiko giggled softly, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "You shouldn't say such things about him," she replied sweetly.

Just then, Ren walked into the living room, wearing nothing but a white towel wrapped low around his waist. Water droplets glistened on his toned chest and damp hair, trickling down his skin. "Where are my clothes, Stepmom?" he asked hurriedly.

Yumiko's hand flew to her mouth in genuine surprise. "Oh no, I completely forgot!" She spun around and rushed upstairs, her enormous breasts bouncing violently inside the tight dress, the fabric stretching and shifting over her curvaceous body with every hurried step. "I'll get them right away!" she called apologetically, vanishing up the stairs.

Ren rolled his eyes with a dramatic sigh and walked over to the TV remote. "Let's see something actually important," he muttered confidently, switching the channel to his favorite anime.

A pillow suddenly smacked him square in the head.

"Stop watching these kids' shows and go dry your body properly!" Yukie snapped, aggressive and irritated. "You're wetting the entire floor again. I'm not cleaning it every single day!"

Ren sighed heavily, tossing the remote onto the couch. "Stop lecturing me," he grumbled, irritated, before trudging back toward the corridor.

A short while later, Ren emerged from the bathroom looking sharp in a fitted blue shirt and black jeans. He strode into the living room with renewed confidence and struck a dramatic pose in front of them.

"I'm ready!"

Yumiko clapped her hands energetically, her face lighting up with pure joy. "You look so handsome, sweetie!" she exclaimed happily, eyes sparkling with pride.

Yukie rolled her eyes and gave him a slow, critical once-over from head to toe. "You're going to work as a Devourer, not a businessman," she said in a deadpan, serious tone.

Yumiko ignored her and stepped closer, gently adjusting Ren's collar with motherly care. "Forget about her. I know you'll do great on your first day. Yukie and I are going to the supermarket later, so call us if you need anything, okay?" she said with a soft, encouraging smile.

Ren nodded, full of youthful confidence. "I'm taking the bike then…" He headed for the door, opened it, and stepped outside, closing it behind him with a determined click.

The moment the engine roared to life outside, Yukie rolled her eyes again. "I'm quite sure he doesn't even know how to drive that thing properly," she muttered.

Yumiko patted her head gently with a soothing smile. "Calm down, baby."

Yukie sighed dramatically as she followed her into the kitchen. "That bike costs almost nine million yen…"

Meanwhile, at the Devourer Guild

Ren brought the powerful Bimota Tesi H2 to a smooth stop in the guild's parking area. The sleek, high-performance motorcycle gleamed under the morning sun. Heads turned instantly — students, young Devourers, and staff alike stared in open shock.

"Is that… a Bimota Tesi H2?!" one boy exclaimed, his ice cream cone slipping from his hand and splatting onto the pavement.

Another sleek car pulled up beside him. Kael stepped out, adjusting his jacket, and fixed his calm gaze on Ren with a hint of surprise. "You're even earlier than me."

Ren climbed off the bike, removing his helmet with a sheepish grin. "And here I thought I was going to be late," he said, letting out a heavy sigh of relief.

Kael glanced down at the impressive machine, then back at Ren. "You seem quite interested in bikes."

Ren flashed a confident smile as they walked toward the building together. "I love cars, but bikes are amazing too… especially when they're fast."

A small crowd of guys quickly gathered around the parked bike, phones out, eagerly snapping photos.

Inside the grand lobby, Kael approached the receptionist with his usual calm demeanor. "What's on the mission board for today?"

The young woman bowed respectfully and checked her computer. "There are no missions assigned at the moment, sir. I'll inform you immediately if anything comes up."

Kael nodded and gestured toward the elevator. "Then let's go have some rest for now."

Ren followed, raising an eyebrow with playful surprise. "Rest? I didn't know Devourers actually got to rest."

Kael chuckled softly as the elevator doors closed. "Even legends need coffee sometimes."

Inside Kael's sleek, minimalist office, the two of them lounged in comfortable silence. Sunlight slanted through the large windows, casting long golden rectangles across the floor. Kael sat relaxed behind his desk, while Ren had claimed the couch like it was his personal throne.

"Do you want to read novels?" Kael asked in his usual calm, almost lazy tone. Without waiting for a full answer, he pulled open a drawer and took out a small stack of books, their covers slightly worn from multiple readings.

Ren tilted his head, curiosity sparking in his eyes. He pointed at one with a soft, excited grin. "Let's try it. I've never really read a novel before."

Kael nodded and casually tossed the book across the room. Ren caught it mid-air with one hand.

"You'll love this one," Kael said, leaning back in his chair with a faint smile. "It's about a boy and a girl who fall deeply in love… and in the end, the girl dies."

Ren blinked, already flipping it open. "Sounds… cheerful."

He kicked his legs up onto the coffee table without a second thought and began reading, completely absorbed.

Some time later, Ren had migrated from the couch to the floor. He lay on his stomach, propped up on one elbow, munching loudly on cookies from a half-empty packet while his eyes scanned the pages.

"This one's finished," he announced, closing the book with a satisfied thud. "Is there a seventh volume?"

Kael was staring blankly at the small fish swimming lazily inside a glass bowl on his desk, looking thoroughly bored. He didn't even turn his head.

"It hasn't been published yet," he replied in a flat, monotone voice. "Why don't you read another one? I've got a sci-fi series — all four volumes. Should keep you busy."

Ren was about to reply when the office door suddenly burst open with a loud bang.

The receptionist rushed in, slightly out of breath, her face tight with concern. "There's a rift that just appeared at Shibuya Station — 10:23 AM!"

Kael's expression shifted instantly. He stood up smoothly, a calm but oddly excited smile tugging at his lips. "That's exactly what I've been waiting for," he said, the smile turning strangely mischievous, almost confusing.

Ren jumped to his feet, stretching his arms high above his head with a confident grin that lit up his whole face. He cracked his knuckles for good measure.

"I'm coming too, Partner!" he declared brightly, already heading for the door with energetic steps.

After a swift ride through the bustling city streets, the motorcycle and Kael's sleek car arrived at Shibuya Station. The once-crowded plaza was now in chaos — panicked civilians ran in every direction, screams echoing off the modern buildings as emergency sirens wailed in the distance.

Ren brought his bike to a sharp stop at the edge of the station entrance. He killed the engine and climbed off with a confident grin, helmet tucked under his arm. "That's quite a big rift," he said, eyes wide with excitement as he stared at the massive, swirling purple tear in reality hovering above the station square. "Looks like someone tore open the sky just for us."

Kael stepped out of his car, closing the door with a calm click. He adjusted his jacket, completely unfazed by the pandemonium around them. "Let's kill that demon faster," he said with a small, relaxed smile. "I have a meeting at noon."

Ren chuckled and fell into step beside him, pushing through the stream of fleeing people. "You make it sound like we're just grabbing lunch."

They moved quickly into the station concourse. The air felt thick and charged with unnatural energy. In the center of the open space, surrounded by overturned benches and shattered glass, stood three grotesque figures.

A towering, muscular demon dominated the scene — easily three meters tall, its obsidian skin rippling with raw power, jagged horns curling from its head, and glowing red eyes scanning for prey. Flanking it were two smaller, more feral demons, snarling and clawing at the air.

Ren's eyes narrowed, but a confident smirk spread across his face. "They're three," he announced, cracking his knuckles. "One big ugly guy and two little ugly guys. Easy split, right?"

Kael glanced sideways at him, one eyebrow raised in dry amusement. "Try not to get stepped on by the big one on your first day, Partner."

The massive demon let out a deep, guttural roar that shook the station walls. The two smaller demons lunged forward, claws extended, ready to charge at the new arrivals.

Kael's expression turned serious, though the calm smile never fully left his face. "Stay sharp. The big one's the real threat. I'll take him — you handle the small fry. Don't let them surround you."
