(The atmosphere inside the hospital cabin is heavy and suffocatingly quiet. Dr. Hyun Kim sits despondently behind his large wooden desk, staring blankly at the medical reports scattered before him. For the past three consecutive days, he has not been able to meet or see Kim Seo due to his hectic hospital duties. He leans back against his chair, letting out a deep, defeated sigh, his face etched with pure disappointment and longing as his mind races with thoughts of her.)
(Suddenly, the cabin door swings open. His close colleague, Dr. Min-jae, walks in holding two paper cups of coffee. Seeing Hyun's gloomy expression, Min-jae stops and frowns in concern.)
DR. MIN-JAE: (Setting a coffee cup on the desk, asking curiously) "Hey, Hyun. What is wrong with you? You've been sitting here looking like the world is ending. Did something happen?"
DR. HYUN : (Looking up with tired, disappointed eyes, sighing deeply) "It's nothing... it's just that I haven't been able to meet her for three days now. Not even once.
"DR. MIN-JAE: (Staring at him in absolute shock, his jaw dropping) "Wait, what?! You... a girl? You actually like someone? Is that why you've been so incredibly upset and moody for the past three days?!"
DR. HYUN : (Slightly embarrassed, looking away) "Yeah... I guess so."
DR. MIN-JAE: (Breaking into a wide grin, shaking his head in disbelief) "Oh my god, this is huge! We all thought you were completely married to your medical career! If you like her so much, why don't you just go ahead and confess your feelings? Just tell her how you feel!"
DR. HYUN : (Speaking softly, a trace of sadness in his voice) "Actually... I already told her. I confessed my feelings to her."
DR. MIN-JAE: (His eyes widening even more in surprise) "Oh! Wow, you move fast! Oh... wait. So that's why she isn't meeting you? Is she avoiding you because of the confession? Who even is this mystery girl anyway?"
DR. HYUN : (Leaning forward, his expression turning serious) "She is the older sister of one of my patients. She's been coming here for her brother 's treatment."
(Just as Dr. Min-jae opens his mouth to ask more questions, the cabin door opens sharply without a knock. Nurse Ga-on steps inside, holding a metal clipboard. The absolute moment her eyes lock onto Dr. Hyun, her stiff expression instantly melts. A bright, warm twinkle appears in her eyes, and she smiles beautifully.)
NURSE GA-ON: (Speaking in a highly sweet, soft, and deeply affectionate tone) "Dr. Hyun oh dr min you also here so .. the Chief Senior Doctor has requested both of your presence in the main conference room immediately . Please come quickly."
DR. MIN-JAE: (Intervening quickly to keep the atmosphere light, speaking in a very warm, polite, and friendly tone) "Ah, Nurse Ga-on! Yes, yes, please tell the Senior Doctor that we are right on our way. We are just finishing up a brief discussion. We will arrive in a couple of minutes!"
(The very instant Min-jae finishes speaking, Nurse Ga-on's gentle smile completely vanishes. She rips her eyes away from Dr. Hyun and shoots a freezing, glare at Min-jae. Her affectionate tone completely disappears, replaced by an incredibly cold and rude demeanor.)
NURSE GA-ON: (Glancing sharply at Dr. Min-jae, speaking abruptly and rudely) "I was talking to Dr. Hyun, not you. The Senior Doctor said both of you immediately, not in a few minutes. Don't be late.
(With a harsh, dismissive turn that completely insults Dr. Min-jae, Nurse Ga-on turns back to Dr. Hyun, offers him another sweet, lingering smile, and then swiftly exits the cabin, slamming the heavy door shut behind her.)
DR. MIN-JAE: (Scowling furiously at the closed door, turning to Hyun in deep irritation and visible jealousy) "Wow, what is her problem?! Did you see that? She didn't even talk to me properly, yet she was practically dripping with sweetness when looking at you! Why does she always act so incredibly rude, toxic, and annoying to me? She behaves like she owns the entire hospital floor! It honestly irritates me so much because it is so incredibly obvious why she turns into a completely different person around you. Everyone in this department knows that Nurse Ga-on is completely, deeply in love with you!"
DR. HYUN : (Letting out a soft, patient sigh as he stands up from his chair and straightens his doctor's coat, shaking his head in complete disagreement) "It's not like that, Min-jae. It's just you who thinks that she likes me. She is just a highly disciplined person who takes her job and the senior's orders very seriously, which is why she acts a bit strict. You are just blowing things out of proportion."
DR. MIN-JAE: (Following right behind Hyun, literally slapping his own forehead in pure frustration) "Bro! You are an absolute medical genius when it comes to science, but your brain is an absolute zero when it comes to reading girls! The entire world can see it clearly, and you honestly think she's just being 'serious'? You are unbelievable!"
DR. HYUN : (Giving a faint, preoccupied smile as he picks up his patient file from the desk) "Alright, stop arguing now. The Senior Doctor has summoned both of us. We need to leave right away."
(The two doctors open the cabin door together and step out into the bustling corridor, heading straight toward the conference room. All the while, Min-jae keeps muttering under his breath, deeply annoyed by Dr. Hyun's absolute innocence.)
[ – INT. Chief Senior Doctor's Conference Room – Continuous]
(The large, soundproofed conference room is stark and brightly lit by fluorescent overhead lights. Chief Senior Doctor Park sits at the head of a long mahogany table, which is completely packed with department colleagues, experienced doctors, and residential nurses. Directly in front of the Senior Doctor stands another doctor, reviewing files. Dr. Hyun Kim and Dr. Min-jae step inside the crowded room together, navigating through the staff. Hyun walks over and stands right next to the doctor standing in front of the chief, trying to blend in.)(Chief Doctor Park clears his throat loudly, locking his sharp gaze onto the entire medical team gathered before him.)
CHIEF DR. PARK: "I have called all of you here today because our hospital has been officially invited to lead a major medical camp and emergency review. This is an important folk mission to treat the village people who lack advanced healthcare. Everyone in this department is included in this mission, and we are heading directly to a specific village region in oeam folk .
"(Hearing the announcement, Dr. Hyun nods his head slowly, his voice laced with a deeply sad, distracted tone, his mind still entirely preoccupied with why Kim Seo hasn't met him for three consecutive days.)
DR. HYUN : (Softly, with a heavy heart) "Huh... Seriously? This time, even we are going to be included in this trip, Senior?"
CHIEF DR. PARK: (Nodding firmly) "Yes, absolutely. All of you have become highly experienced and senior in your respective fields now, so you absolutely need this kind of field experience. But... Dr. Hyun, what on earth is wrong with you? You don't look enthusiastic or full of your usual passion at all. Why are you so down?"
DR. HYUN : (Stuttering slightly, making quick excuses) "Oh, no, Senior! It's nothing like that! I was just... thinking about a patient case. I am perfectly fine."
(As Dr. Hyun tries to brush it off, his eyes accidentally drift to the doctor standing right next to him. At first, Hyun doesn't quite register the man's face due to his own inner misery. But as he glances closer, his eyes suddenly freeze. A sudden, violent jolt of pure recognition hits him like a lightning bolt. This is the exact same handsome man who was closely interacting, smiling, and laughing with Kim Seo at the corporate party three days ago!)
DR. HYUN : (Thinking to himself, completely stunned and dramatic) 'Wait... what?! Him?! How is he standing here? How did I not know until now that the guy who was hovering around Kim Seo at the party actually works right here in this hospital?!'
(The sheer shock completely throws Hyun off balance. His knees give out, and he accidentally loses his footing, stumbling backward and falling right over Dr. Min-jae's shoulder. Min-jae gasps, quickly grabbing Hyun's arms to steady him and pull him back upright.)
CHIEF DR. PARK: (Slamming his hand on the desk, deeply annoyed by the disruption) "Dr. Hyun! What is wrong with you? Do you not feel well? What was that?!"
DR. MIN-JAE: (Laughing nervously, covering up for his friend while whispering under his breath, 'What is wrong with this guy now?!') "Ah, Senior, it's absolutely nothing! You already know how he is. He just got a bit dizzy from overworking. He is completely fine!"
CHIEF DR. PARK: (Frowning heavily, looking sternly at Hyun) "Dr. Hyun, stop all these childish antics right now and behave like a true professional. You are a doctor, for heaven's sake!"
DR. HYUN KIM: (Quickly standing straight, clearing his throat awkwardly) "Yes, Senior. I apologize. But... who is... this person standing here?"DR. SUNG: (Turning around with a calm, polite smile, pointing to himself) "Huh? Senior, are you talking about me?"
CHIEF DR. PARK: (Answering for him, gesturing to the man) "Ah, yes. Many of you might not know him properly yet. This is Dr. Sung. He joined our department a few months ago. Because of his constantly rotating night shifts and everyone's incredibly busy schedules, I hadn't gotten the chance to formally introduce him to the core team until today."
(Hyun remains completely paralyzed in shock, crossing his arms and glaring sideways at Dr. Sung with intense, burning jealousy. Chief Doctor Park turns back to the entire room, clapping his hands to wrap up the emergency briefing.)
CHIEF DR. PARK: "Alright, everyone. We need to head out soon, so I want all of you to go and start preparing your medical kits and surgical gear. We are leaving for the village. oeam folk"
ONE OF THE COLLEAGUES: (Raising a hand, asking curiously) "But Senior, where exactly in oeam folk are we going? What is the name of the village temple area? And where are we supposed to stay?
CHIEF DR. PARK: (Stopping mid-sentence, his face going completely blank as he rubs his temples) "Uh... wait. What was the name of that place again? It's a very specific village... uh... let me think..."
(The otherwise strict and terrifying Chief Senior Doctor completely loses his memory regarding the village name, standing there blankly for a few painfully awkward seconds. Seeing their kaddak boss freeze like this, the entire conference room bursts into a loud, uncontrollable roar of laughter. The colleagues and doctors begin whispering and teasing him openly.)
COLLEAGUE 1: (trying to stop laughing) "Look at that! Dr. Park forgot the location name completely! Sir, if you start forgetting names like this, what if you forget something inside a patient's stomach during a major surgery?"
COLLEAGUE 2: (Giggling loudly) "Exactly! Imagine him asking for a scalpel in the middle of an operation and then completely forgetting where he was supposed to cut!"
CHIEF DR. PARK: (His face turning bright red with extreme embarrassment, shouting at the top of his lungs to restore order) "Silence! Completely quiet, everyone! Stop laughing this instant! If all of you have so much extra energy to make jokes, go use it for packing! Get out of this room right now and start your preparations immediately!"
(The meeting breaks up instantly. The moment the colleagues, doctors, and nurses step out of the tense conference room and enter the busy hospital corridor, the heavy clinical atmosphere completely shifts into one of pure joy, high-fives, and excitement.)
COLLEAGUES: (High-fiving each other happily) "Huh! We finally got a real chance this time! We missed out last year, but this time, we are going to give our absolute best!"
(As they walk down the hallway, the colleagues quickly surround Dr. Sung, peppering him with curious questions to get to know him better.)
COLLEAGUE 3: "Hey, Dr. Sung! When exactly did you join? What is your core field? Where were you practicing before coming to this hospital?"
(Dr. Sung smiles warmly, answering them politely. Nearby, a group of residential nurses watches him intently, their eyes practically sparkling.)
NURSE 1: "Oh my god, look at Dr. Sung. He is so incredibly charming and handsome! This trip is going to be so refreshing with him around."
NURSE GA-ON: (Stepping forward instantly, crossing her arms tightly and glaring at the nurses, snapping in a highly defensive and proud tone) "Oh, please! He is nothing special. Dr. Hyun Kim is way more handsome, charming, and a far superior doctor than him!"
(Dr. Hyun, who is walking right behind them with Min-jae, overhears Ga-on's passionate defense. He instantly preens, tossing his head back and flipping his collar with an incredibly smug, arrogant smile. He turns to Ga-on with a confident nod.)
DR. HYUN KIM: (Itrate huye, giving a dramatic wink) "Thank you, Nurse Ga-on! I appreciate the honesty."(Hyun then glances over at Dr. Sung's back, a proud smirk plastered across his face as he thinks to himself.)
DR. HYUN KIM: (Thinking to himself, highly conceited) 'Well, she's absolutely right! This guy might be good, but he is definitely not better than me! I don't care if he was laughing and talking with Kim Seo at the party. Kim Seo is the one I love, and he stands no chance against me!
'(With a triumphant huff, Hyun struts past everyone and walks away toward his cabin. Dr. Sung also bids goodbye to the colleagues and leaves to finish his remaining shift duties. Once they are gone, the other nurses turn around and stare at Nurse Ga-on in utter disbelief and shock.)
NURSE 2: "Whoa, Ga-on! Why do you always do that? Why do you praise Dr. Hyun so aggressively and openly in front of everyone? It's so obvious!"DR. MIN-JAE: (Walking up from behind, shaking his head at Ga-on) "Yeah, seriously. Stop running behind him so much. Don't waste your energy on Dr. Hyun, he already likes someone else deeply."
NURSE GA-ON: (Completely ignoring Min-jae's warning and rolling her eyes at the nurses, speaking with absolute confidence) "I don't care what anyone says. I deeply love Dr. Hyun, and that's that!"
(Without waiting for their replies, Nurse Ga-on turns around sharply and marches off to begin her own duties. The remaining staff shake their heads, murmuring about how she is completely crazy and blindly in love. With the final orders locked in, the entire department throws themselves into a frantic rush to pack their medical kits, because they are scheduled to depart for the mysterious Gangwon-do village tomorrow afternoon—completely unaware that Kim Seo's office team is heading to the exact same place.)
