As we walked, everything started to feel different. I knew something important was about to happen. Many people were watching me, wolves in human form, but they didn't look dangerous. One could tell they were waiting for me.
"Why are they all staring at me?"
"They're waiting for you," Damien said.
"It makes me less nervous". All eyes were on me.
I saw a man and a woman walking toward me. The King and Queen. She walked towards me with a big hug, and she looked at me as if she couldn't believe I was real.
"Aria".
"That's my name?"
She smiled with tears in her eyes.
"Yes. You are our daughter."
A mature man with a great figure got closer.
"You're finally home."
"Home".
It is one thing to believe; all this while, I was never without family. I once thought the woman I called my mother was my real mother. I never thought she would find me in the countryside. She hated me so much that life was a curse.
"I missed you so much.
The King placed a hand on my shoulder.
"We sent you away to protect you. "You were never meant to be alone."
"I always thought I didn't belong anywhere."
"You belong here. With us."
I stayed quiet for a moment. There were so many people smiling at me, some even bowed their heads.
"They're welcoming you," Damien said beside me.
"Welcome home, Princess."
"We've been waiting for you."
I really didn't know what to say.
My mother squeezed my hand gently. "You don't have to understand everything yet. Just stay."
I looked at both my real parents.
"Okay.
I felt like I had a place to stay now, feeling all these years I was seen as a curse, I thought the woman I was calling my mother was really not my mother.
Like, really, I was home.
