Chapter 22 - Chapter 22: Could He Be... An Alien?

Black Widow, who was proficient in psychology, could tell that Son Goku wasn't lying, but she didn't believe that everything he said was true.

This was because many children would take the fairy tales their parents told them as truth when they were young, even seeing themselves as the protagonists of those stories.

The simple-minded Son Goku might be in such a situation.

Therefore, what she needed to do was extract truly useful information from the fairy tales Son Goku told.

The place called Mount Paozu should be real, his status as an orphan was highly likely to be true, and there was nothing wrong with him being picked up and trained in fighting techniques by his Grandpa.

As for the adventures he had after meeting Bulma, they were probably just adventure stories from a young boy's imagination.

She believed the reality was that Son Goku, as a Mutant or due to some other mutation, was born with a tail on his backside, which led to him being abandoned on the mountain by his parents.

Then, an old man proficient in fighting techniques picked up the child, raised him, and passed on his own fighting techniques.

After the old man passed away, Son Goku came down from the mountain to wander, eventually encountering the pursued Gabriella and stepping in to help.

It was precisely because he had always lived on the mountain that S.H.I.E.L.D (You mean Hydra?)'s System couldn't find any relevant information.

As for why Son Goku was so powerful?

The main reason might be his physical mutation, which granted him immense Physical Body strength, combined with the fighting techniques passed down by the old man.

"Goku, have you ever seen this Great Ape?"

Having formed a hypothesis in her mind, she opened her phone again and played the video of the Great Ape captured last night for Son Goku.

Looking at the Great Ape on the phone, Son Goku's eyes immediately lit up.

"I haven't seen him. He's so strong; I really want to spar with him!"

There really were many strong people outside. That Magneto from before was very strong, and now this Great Ape was even stronger.

In comparison, he was indeed still quite lacking and needed to Cultivate even harder.

Once he finished escorting Aunt Gabriella and the others to their destination, he would practice even more diligently and seek out even stronger people to fight.

"He's not lying."

Carefully observing Son Goku's expression upon seeing the Great Ape in the video, Black Widow judged that it truly was Son Goku's first time seeing the Great Ape.

"Could it really have nothing to do with him?"

According to Son Goku, he had fallen asleep at the end of the battle with Magneto last night.

If the Great Ape had no connection to Son Goku, then it was possible that Son Goku had been outmatched during his fight with Magneto and was knocked unconscious.

Then, that Great Ape just happened to show up, killed Magneto, and began its rampage.

It made sense; Magneto was a Level 4 Mutant. Even if Son Goku could fight some ordinary mercenaries, he definitely couldn't be a match for Magneto.

Being knocked unconscious was quite reasonable.

"The truth will likely be revealed once we meet Wolverine and Professor X."

Wolverine and Professor X must have witnessed the entire process; they would know best whether Son Goku had any connection to the Great Ape.

Without further questioning, Black Widow sent the information and conjectures she had gathered to Nick Fury via text message.

On the other side, after Nick Fury finished reviewing the intelligence sent by Black Widow, a solemn expression appeared on his face.

"Could it be... he's an Alien?"

Unlike Black Widow, having seen the Kree fleet, he had a different perspective on Son Goku's answers.

He knew that beyond Earth, there were countless powerful civilizations in the Universe.

So, what Son Goku said might not be fairy tales, but rather adventure experiences that had occurred on his own Planet.

Flying cars and the Hoi-Poi Capsules that could compress everything into a small capsule precisely proved that the technology of that Planet was extremely advanced.

Just because Son Goku didn't recognize the Great Ape didn't mean there was no connection between the two; further verification was still needed.

However, this verification process had to be extremely careful.

In case Son Goku really was the Great Ape, if he were provoked too severely and transformed again, it would be another huge problem.

But he absolutely couldn't be left alone; he had to be kept within S.H.I.E.L.D (You mean Hydra?)'s surveillance.

Just as he was pondering the safest way to handle the situation, another message arrived on his phone.

This time it wasn't Black Widow, but another Agent, Coulson.

"Tony Stark has escaped from the kidnappers and was found and brought back to New York by Colonel Rhodes..."

Meanwhile, at the Sokovia HYDRA Base.

Baron Strucker was in a video call with John Garrett.

"Well? Has all the intelligence been reported?"

"It's been reported, but I don't understand why you want to share this intelligence with Nick Fury."

A look of confusion appeared on John Garrett's face.

With him there, he could have completely erased much of the intelligence regarding the Institute without anyone noticing.

Baron Strucker adjusted his glasses.

"That Great Ape's destructive power is too great; capturing it won't be easy. It's better to let Nick Fury be our vanguard.

Right now, the most important thing for us, HYDRA, is to remain hidden and dormant; we cannot be exposed.

If you were to erase some intelligence, it would easily arouse Nick Fury's suspicion."

S.H.I.E.L.D (You mean Hydra?) had basically been almost entirely infiltrated by HYDRA, so no matter what Nick Fury gained, he could get it just the same.

Since that was the case, rather than doing it himself, it was better to let a capable and clever fellow like Nick Fury do it.

Let him find out for them exactly what that boy who can transform into a Great Ape really is.

Given that he could insta-kill his modified Magneto, the value of the Great Ape was immeasurable; he had to get his hands on it.

"Uncle, over here!"

Downstairs from an ordinary hotel in Pinion, Son Goku jumped out of Black Widow's car and happened to see Wolverine walking out the door, so he immediately waved and shouted.

Wolverine turned and saw Son Goku, a look of pleasant surprise instantly appearing on his face as he rushed over.

"Little Sun, it's great that you're okay!"

Last night, after the Great Ape disappeared, he had actually searched the vicinity for a while, but later, due to the appearance of a large number of Police, he had to leave first.

After stealing a reporter's car halfway, he arrived in Pinion in the early morning to regroup with Professor X and the others.

The four of them discussed it and didn't plan on giving up on Son Goku just like that, deciding to stay in Pinion for two more days.

Wolverine would quietly sneak back to the battlefield to scout for information and see if he could find any trace of Son Goku.

If he really couldn't find him, they would then set off for North Dakota to reunite with the other scattered Mutant children and head to Canada together.

Who would have thought that just as he stepped out of the hotel entrance, he would see Son Goku waving at him.

"Uncle, did you see my Power Pole?"

Son Goku asked the question he cared about most.

Wolverine nodded in response.

"I picked up that staff of yours; it's in the room upstairs in the hotel right now."

After saying that, he looked at the uniformed Black Widow and the others, a look of wariness appearing on his face.

"Little Sun, who are these people?"

"They are Police. They said you were here and brought me over."

Upon hearing that the Power Pole really was here, Son Goku happily replied and ran toward the hotel entrance.
