Chapter 9 - Now… We Fight

"Tsk… The ancients didn't lie to me. The hero-saving-the-beauty operation always works," Reik muttered with satisfaction as he noticed Olga's flushed face.

'Seeing that expression… she might already have a good impression of me… or even something more,' he thought.

His eyes, almost instinctively, traced over her body—her beautiful face, her seductive figure, and the revealing clothes that barely covered her curves.

For a moment, he was stunned.

Reik knew he didn't feel the same way as he did for Miko or the ghost girls. For now, what he felt was pure lust.

But did it matter?

No.

'Love grows over time… I can make her fall for me.'

Besides, it was the first time he had felt such a strong impulse toward someone. Even among the ghosts, that instinct had never been this intense.

'It's strange… I didn't feel anything like this even with the strongest ones.'

He paused for a moment.

'Maybe it's because they're not completely alive…'

'Or maybe it's this world… a world completely… like this.'

For a second, he blamed the environment.

'Whatever… first I save her, and then… I'll give her the ending she deserves.'

While Reik was lost in his thoughts…

Olga moved.

She suddenly stepped forward and threw herself at him, kissing him directly. Her arms wrapped firmly around his neck.

'Huh…? This is too fast… even for this world. Not even the ghost girls were this direct…'

Reik was surprised, but he didn't hesitate.

'Tsk… it must be this world. Whatever.'

He returned the kiss with intensity, holding her by the waist and pulling her closer.

The only sound filling the place was that of their lips meeting.

If the situation had been different…

Reik would have already taken her right there, wildly, like an animal.

"Sir warrior! Could you help me?"

Chloe's voice interrupted the moment, filled with frustration.

She had taken advantage of the initial distraction to counterattack, but Vault had already recovered, and now they were attacking with full force.

Reik clicked his tongue.

"As much as I'd like to continue… now isn't the time. First, we need to save your companion."

"You're right… sorry for acting impulsively," Olga replied, trying to remain calm, though a hint of embarrassment lingered in her voice.

'What came over me…? Acting like that with someone I just met… even if we talked in chat…'

Reik noticed her discomfort and smiled.

"Well, I'm not complaining. But let's save your friend first… then we can continue, right?" he said playfully.

Olga blushed slightly but regained her composure and looked at him.

"Maybe…," she replied with a faint smile.

In another part of the throne room, Chloe was surrounded by a group of monsters.

Not far away stood Vault and Kin, watching.

Chloe's body was covered in wounds, and her breathing was heavy, but her gaze remained firm.

Attacks rained down on her.

She dodged… again and again.

But then—

She stumbled.

Fatigue caught up with her.

She couldn't dodge the next attack.

She braced herself.

BOOM.

The ogre attacking her was sent flying into the wall, a fist mark left in its chest.

"Weren't you taught not to hit a woman?"

Chloe blinked, stunned.

"You're late… a few more seconds and I'd be dead," she said with a tired smile.

'Tsk… Chloe's a beauty too… but if I remember correctly, she hates humans. This will be troublesome…' Reik thought.

"Hurry, before reinforcements arrive," Olga said from behind.

"Olga-sama!" Chloe exclaimed, trying to kneel, but Olga stopped her.

"It's a relief you're okay," she said with a sigh of relief.

"So you're the rat who came to ruin my fun."

Vault's voice cut through the moment.

Reik turned his gaze.

There stood Vault and Kin… and behind them, reinforcements.

Ogre after ogre.

Orcs.

Goblins.

Trolls.

An army.

Reik smiled.

There was no fear in his eyes.

Only excitement.

"I don't know who you are, but seeing your strength, I'll spare your life if you surrender," Vault said arrogantly.

His gaze shifted toward Olga.

"And if I'm in a good mood… maybe I'll let you enjoy them after I'm done."

Reik's smile disappeared.

"Stop talking."

His tone turned cold.

"Let's fight."

Then he slightly turned.

"Olga. Take Chloe and leave."

"I can't leave you here. I have enough mana to teleport the three of us," Olga replied.

"Perfect. That means you can go farther," Reik said, with no intention of retreating.

"My lady… please leave. I'll stay with him," Chloe said, stepping forward with difficulty.

She thought Reik was sacrificing himself.

But if he knew, he would only think:

'I want a good fight.'

"You've done enough," Reik said, stopping her. "Rest."

"But—"

"There's no time."

His voice was firm.

Decisive.

He looked at Olga.

Olga hesitated for a moment…

Then made a decision.

She grabbed Chloe and activated a spell.

A magic circle appeared beneath their feet, grew… and they vanished in a flash.

Silence.

Reik was left alone.

Surrounded.

He slowly took off his shirt, revealing his muscular, well-defined body.

His muscles tensed.

The air grew heavy.

He cracked his neck.

And smiled.

A wild smile.

"Now that there are no interruptions…"

His eyes gleamed.

"It's time to have some fun."
