Emily sat stiffly at a corner table in the luxurious Kathy's Diner. Her elegant yellow maternity dress made her stand out.
"Wear yellow," Tony had commanded. "So that it would be easy for my Fixer to spot if anything goes wrong."
She gripped her warm herbal tea. She wasn't interested in drinking it, she only liked the warmth feeling on her skin. Under her lace collar, a micro-thin, wire tap clung to her skin. It beamed her every breath straight to a hidden surveillance van down the street.
A shadow fell over the table. A sleek figure slid into the iron chair opposite her.
Special Agent Sabrina West wore a designer wool coat and dark sunglasses. She looked like a wealthy friend arriving for brunch, not a federal operative. She didn't wait for an invite. Folding her hands on the table, she scanned Emily's pale, exhausted face.
"You look tired, Emily," Sabrina murmured casually. "I didn't think you would text so soon."
