Chapter 2 - 2. Liana's lie

After having lunch in the canteen located across campus, Liana and her friends returned to their respective homes to continue their graduation ceremony with their families.

Before going home, Liana and her parents went to the 'Beauty' Photo Studio, then they took photos proudly because the Wijaya family's daughter had graduated with a Bachelor's degree.

An hour later, after taking photos there, they went straight home and rested for a while in the garden behind the house to unwind.

"Well, you have now graduated from college and have a bachelor's degree. Do you have any plans for the future?" asked Davin, Liana's father while sipping hot tea mixed with honey.

"Yes, Dad. I plan to look for work as soon as possible, then continue my Master's studies at a state university," answered Liana firmly.

"Good, my daughter. I and your mom support your decision to work and continue your master's education," interrupted Kimberly, smiling broadly.

"But before I looked for work, I asked Daddy and Mom for permission to go on holiday for a week or two in the village," said Liana, hoping that her parents would allow her to holiday in a haunted village with five of her friends.

"It doesn't matter if you want to go on holiday anywhere, whether in the village, in the city, or even abroad. As long as you don't go on holiday in a place where there are ghosts," said Kimberly, looking intently at her daughter.

"Liana, never go on holiday in the village where your grandmother was born. Understand?" Davin's voice rose and suddenly became tense.

Liana nodded slowly, "I understand, Dad."

"Indeed, which village do you want to go to and with whom?" Kim asked gently.

"I ... I want to go to Narnia's grandmother's village, Mom. I want to go on holiday with Narnia, Ricky, and others." Liana was forced to lie to her parents because Davin wouldn't allow her to vacation in the haunted village

"Alright, we won't mind if you and your friends want to vacation in Narnia village. By the way, is that village outside this city or go to a village in a mountainous area?" Kim is curious to know the location of the village where Narnia's grandmother lives.

"The village is outside this city," Liana lied again.

"When do you want to go there?" Davin asked.

"Monday morning, Dad," replied Liana flatly.

"Alright, you can go on holiday in Narnia's grandmother's village. Don't forget to let us know when you get there. You have to bring as much food and drink as possible, medicine, also a power bank," Davin reminded his youngest daughter, his face looked worried when Liana decided to go on holiday with her friends in the village.

"Liana is not a child anymore, Vin. She knows what equipment she has to bring when going on holiday in the village," said Kim with a chuckle.

"She is not a child anymore, but she is our only daughter, Kim."

"Don't worry, Dad. I will take good care of myself and won't do anything wrong," said Liana, trying to convince her father.

"You and your female friends shouldn't sleep in the same room as boys, okay? I am afraid that you will...." Davin didn't continue his words, making Kim and Liana wonder why he suddenly fell silent.

"What are you afraid of?" Kim asked, frowning, then she put her tea cup on the round table.

"I was afraid that she would get pregnant ... I used to have a friend who slept in the same room with a male friend, while they were on holiday abroad. When they returned from Switzerland, it turned out that my friend was already two weeks pregnant," explained Davin at length.

"Is that true? Are you sure?" Rani's eyes were wide, her mouth was wide open, while Liana was silent.

"Our daughter wouldn't do anything that would embarrass our family. Isn't that right, Liana?" Kim turned to Liana who was sitting beside her.

"Yes, Mom," said she quietly.

Liana was secretly grateful because while she was dating Daniel who studied at another university, they had never done anything out of line.

"Don't worry too much about Liana, she knows what's good and what's not," said Kim.

"Of course I know, you don't need to worry, okay?" Liana smile to them.
