Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: His Truth… That Changed Everything

That moment of the morning…

was still fresh in my eyes.

"Let's stop this marriage right here."

His voice was calm.

No anger. No fear.

Yet strong enough to silence everyone.

The entire house went quiet.

Dad stood there, shocked.

"What are you saying?"

The boy replied calmly—

"I can't move forward with this relationship based on a lie."

My heartbeat grew faster.

"Is he really going to tell the truth in front of everyone…?"

His mother said angrily—

"Do you even realize what you're saying?"

But he didn't even look at her.

"Yes, Mom… for the first time, I'm telling the truth."

I looked at him.

For the first time…

he didn't feel like just a helpless boy.

He felt like someone…

who was finally standing up for himself.

"I love someone else."

The moment he said that—

everything exploded.

Mom covered her mouth in shock.

Dad's anger rose instantly.

"Why didn't you say this earlier?"

He replied softly—

"I did… but no one listened."

Something inside me shifted.

"Just like me…"

He looked at me and said—

"I don't want to cheat you."

"That's why I'm telling the truth today… in front of everyone."

Tears filled my eyes.

But this time…

they weren't just of pain.

Somewhere…

there was a little relief too.

Dad said angrily—

"This relationship is over!"

His voice carried anger…

but maybe a little relief too.

The boy and his family left.

And silence took over the house.

Mom came near me.

"Are you okay?"

I just nodded slowly.

But inside…

everything had changed.

I went to my room.

Closed the door.

And sat on the bed.

"Is everything really over…?"

Suddenly, my phone rang.

Unknown number.

"Hello…"

"It's me… the guy."

My heart skipped a beat.

"Thank you…" he said.

I got confused.

"For what?"

"For saying 'NO' today."

A small smile appeared on my face.

"You said it too…"

For a few seconds… silence.

Then he said—

"You are very strong."

"Not everyone has that kind of courage."

For the first time…

I felt understood.

"Follow your dreams," he said.

"Don't leave them halfway."

There was genuine concern in his voice.

I asked softly—

"And you?"

He smiled lightly—

"I'll try too… to fight for my love."

The call ended.

But his words stayed in my heart.

I stood near the window.

The air felt different today.

As if for the first time…

I was truly free.

"I said NO…"

"And maybe… for the first time, I got a chance to live my own life

The next morning…

Dad came into my room.

His face was serious.

"Your job result came…"

"You got selected."

Shock. Happiness. Fear.

Everything hit me at once.

But his next words…

changed everything again—

"If you want to stay in this house… you have to leave this job."

Ending

Now I have another choice—

My dreams…

or my family.

Will I finally choose myself…

or lose again in front of them?

What would you do in my place? Tell me in the comments…
