Author's Note: I only post this story when my mind is completely out of it, so that's why it takes time. But if I see enough support, I'll try to bring this series faster.
Let's continue:
We kept walking after my little demonstration of magical power. For them, it was better if I didn't do anything else for now, and I moved forward with a calm, almost happy smile. I had always wanted to know what it felt like to use Reverse Cursed Technique firsthand, and honestly… it was incredible. Maybe that's why I couldn't wipe that smile off my face.
"You look pretty happy," Fred said as we walked.
"Don't I?" I replied openly, though I paused for a second to think.
Fred scanned the surroundings, evaluating the terrain.
"I'm going hunting. Stay here," he said before heading off into the vegetation.
I watched him disappear into the trees.
Interesting.
Valeria and Frida stayed near me, still a bit uneasy, like they didn't know whether to trust me or be ready to run. Meanwhile, I calmly observed the environment, sensing distant presences and automatically adjusting my energy.
Nothing was going to happen.
At least, that's what I thought.
So I took the chance to check my templates. I was curious—I wanted to know what it really felt like.
I quickly opened my interface.
Name: KenjakuTemplate: KenjakuTime per template: 1 hour per dayBase body: KaoriCurse: female body
I stayed silent, looking at the floating interface.
Nothing new, I thought calmly.
Then I checked the available bodies… and something inside me cracked a little. Three imaginary black lines appeared across my face, two drops of sweat slid down my temple, and I might've just unlocked identity issues—because everything I saw… was female.
I thought only my base form would have that detail.
Apparently not.
Well… whatever. I was already here, so I might as well try it.
I turned toward the girls, who were setting up the fire.
"I'm going to try something," I said, making both of them raise an eyebrow.
"You're not going to rip off an arm, right?" one asked nervously.
"Not at all," I reassured them. "Just changing my appearance."
Even I wasn't fully sure what would happen.
"Go ahead," Valeria said. Frida nodded.
I lifted my head and accepted the shift.
My hair grew longer, my figure became smaller and more slender, and even my clothes adjusted, reshaping as if the system only needed fabric to recreate a new look.
I opened my eyes.
They were staring.
One had her mouth wide open, while the other signed exaggeratedly that I looked very pretty.
I blinked.
…Okay.
This was going to be interesting.
My clothes were slightly oversized now. The stitches on my head were visible again—not like before, when they looked perfectly done. My hair fell softly over my shoulders, and I even had small earrings I hadn't had before. My body looked like that of a girl between fifteen and nineteen.
Everything felt strange.
Familiar.
And new at the same time.
I walked over to a puddle and looked at my reflection.
Different… but still me.
Memories flooded in—my past life, Kaori's memories, Kenjaku's memories. Power. Control. Emptiness.
Overwhelming.
And freeing.
I sighed, brushing the water with my fingers.
Despite everything…
I felt alive.
Or at least, more aware than ever.
"What happened to you?" Valeria asked, frowning.
"Magic," I replied calmly.
Then I made a small gesture with my hand.
And something appeared behind me.
They tensed instantly.
It wasn't just anything.
It was Mahito—the cursed spirit of humanity.
Floating.
Disturbing.
The air itself felt heavier.
"Relax," I said with a slight smile. "He won't hurt you… unless you want him to."
Mahito observed me, curious.
I walked up and placed my hand on his face, feeling his essence under my control. I checked for flaws.
Nothing.
He was completely under control.
I turned back to them.
"Can you see him?" I asked.
"You shouldn't," Valeria said, confused.
Frida signed quickly—she was fascinated.
With a mental command, I had Mahito communicate with her in sign language.
"So… what are you trying to do?" Valeria asked.
"I want to create a transportation system," I said calmly.
"Seriously?"
"Yes."
She stayed quiet.
"You're really kind," she said.
"I know," I replied, a bit narcissistically.
She sighed.
"Why are you helping us?"
"I want humanity to survive," I said, looking into the distance, sensing many human presences.
She stared at the fire.
"Thank you."
"Don't mention it."
Fred returned, noticing Mahito immediately. He frowned, confused, trying to process it.
While they ate, I returned to my original form.
Then I explained:
"I want to summon a creature to carry us. If everything goes well, we'll reach our destination in about two hours."
Silence.
They understood.
But they waited for Fred.
"Are you sure we'll get there safely?" he asked.
"Yes."
He looked at the others.
Then at me.
"…Fine."
I took that moment to form a binding vow.
"I'll gain two extra hours tomorrow."
Time stretched slightly.
Advantage secured.
"Tomorrow, we move," I said.
That night, we hid ourselves with a veil.
The next day, they packed quickly.
I activated my vow.
Then switched bodies—Geto.
With precise hand signs, I summoned a special-grade curse.
A tank.
But I modified it.
"Keep its strength… maximize its speed."
In exchange, I added a small barrier.
The curse emerged.
Powerful.
Fast.
Controlled.
"Perfect."
I placed the three of them on it and took the front.
The creature now looked like a massive cursed turtle.
We moved.
Fast.
Jumping through the terrain.
Safe.
They were excited.
I calculated we'd arrive in under two hours—but I stayed alert.
Vampires.
Mutants.
Hostile sorcerers.
Anything could happen.
As we moved, I thought about cursed tools—like the ones Toji used.
Weapons that could affect the soul.
Useful.
Something to develop later.
But for now—
This mission had one goal:
To socialize with humans.
And protect them.
The wind hit my face as the cursed turtle advanced.
And I smiled.
For the first time in a long while…
Everything felt under control.
End of Chapter 3.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: If you think using Geto's abilities is too overpowered, don't worry—I'll nerf it properly!
