Chapter 330: Two Days Late
The catastrophe was finally complete.
The suspended debris field in the Hall of Held Breaths had fallen into the bottomless chasm the moment the stasis field broke. The deafening roar of grinding stone and shattering granite had faded, leaving only a thick cloud of gray dust hanging in the cold air.
Draven stood at the edge of the far obsidian platform. He looked out across the ruined cavern.
The falling boulders were gone. The only thing that remained intact was the narrow, zigzagging stone path connecting the two sides of the room. The ancient architect had designed the bridge to outlast the collapse it spanned.
Draven stepped onto the stone path.
He did not engage his mana core. He did not seize his own kinetic vectors. He simply walked forward with a normal, measured stride.
CLACK.
CLACK.
