Chapter 19 - Better to Ask Ren Than the Teacher

After learning about Ren Isana's family situation, the group tacitly agreed not to bring it up again. No normal person would intentionally poke at someone else's scars.

The break only lasted ten minutes, so the bell for the next class rang quickly.

This time, a young male teacher walked in from outside. Ren recognized him; he was a magic teacher specially hired by the school.

"My surname is Jin. You can call me Jin-sensei. Now, everyone take out your copies of *Origins of Magic*." The moment Jin-sensei entered the classroom, he introduced himself and immediately started the lesson.

Although the students were a bit taken aback by his abruptness, they hurriedly took out their magic textbooks and listened attentively.

This teacher was clearly a man of action. In his very first class, he taught everyone how to meditate highly efficiently, even explaining how to use meditation to replace sleep.

Hearing this, Ren instantly perked up. Replacing sleep with meditation? That was exactly what he needed. He listened with extra focus.

Ren quickly realized that the teacher was sharing a lot of information not found in the textbook.

He was like a ruthless lecturing machine. For the entire period, he explained various meditation methods and techniques for rapidly storing Magic Power.

He even covered how to refine Magic Power while simultaneously fighting in combat.

For the full forty-minute class, he rattled on without pause. The students below didn't dare let their minds wander; they could only frantically jot down notes on anything they didn't understand.

"Alright, that's it for this class. If you have any questions, ask them in the next period. When the bell rings, head up to the third floor on your own." With that, Jin-sensei walked straight out of the room.

As soon as he left, the entire class breathed a collective sigh of relief. Someone immediately complained, "That's ridiculous... He talks way too fast!"

The pacing was simply too fast. Most of them only half-understood the material and had to take notes like crazy, terrified of forgetting something important.

Ren was probably the only person in the class left wanting more. He hadn't taken a single note because he had perfectly understood everything the teacher said.

Just as Ren was about to take out his phone to scroll through some videos, someone poked him in the back with a pen.

Ren turned around to see Megumi Kato. She laid her notebook flat on his desk and asked, "Ren-kun, you understood all of that, right?"

"What's up? Are these the parts you didn't get?" Ren looked at the contents of her notebook and immediately knew what she wanted.

Megumi smiled like a sly little fox, pressing her palms together in a pleading gesture. "Hehe... Could you please explain it to me again, Ren-kun? Pretty please!"

The rest of the class might have been lost, but Ren definitely understood it. His talent for learning was simply terrifying.

Asking Ren for help was the best possible solution. It was much faster than going to the teacher.

Sitting nearby, Asuna Yuuki watched Megumi's actions in bewilderment. She had also only half-understood the lecture and had taken pages of notes.

But now Megumi was asking Ren? Was that really a good idea? Or did Ren have some sort of special ability?

"Let me take a look. Hmm... This is actually pretty simple." Ren scanned Megumi's notebook and immediately began explaining the concepts she struggled with.

Seeing that Ren actually knew the material, Asuna was dumbfounded. *Is his innate talent related to magic?*

Thinking this, Asuna pricked up her ears and listened closely to Ren's explanation. After all, she hadn't quite grasped some of the things Megumi had written down either.

A few other students noticed what was happening. Seeing Ren tutoring Megumi, they quickly gathered around.

Right! They had an incredibly overpowered classmate. Ren's talent made him a genius at learning anything.

Why not just ask Ren about the things they didn't understand? Just like that, as Ren tutored Megumi, a large crowd of classmates swarmed his desk.

Some even spoke up to ask their own questions, and Ren patiently answered every single one.

In just the short span of the break, Ren managed to clarify many of the confusing points from the teacher's lecture.

When the bell rang, everyone finally packed up and headed together to the classroom on the third floor.

Jin-sensei was already waiting for them. Once everyone had arrived, he said, "If you have any questions from the last period, ask them now. I will answer them."

Hearing this, the students eagerly raised the remaining questions they still didn't understand.

Asuna was standing next to Megumi. Unable to hold back her curiosity, she whispered, "Are Ren-kun's grades really that good?"

Ren's flawless explanations earlier had left a deep impression on her, making her incredibly curious about his academic standing.

"Ren has a learning-type talent. He can master anything just by hearing or seeing it once," Megumi explained, revealing Ren's secret.

Asuna froze. *It's a talent? And he learns things just by hearing them once? Isn't that way too absurd?*

No wonder Megumi had gone straight to Ren. Wasn't that much more convenient than asking the teacher? After all, Ren mastered everything on the first try!

She suddenly realized why Yukino Yukinoshita refused to fight him. It was probably because he had casually copied all her techniques during their spar...

Furthermore, she finally understood why Ren was always scrolling through his phone watching those videos. He was studying!

The magic teacher spent nearly half the period answering the class's questions before activating the Array built into the classroom.

A massive blue Magic Array materialized on the floor. "Next, everyone will meditate inside this Array," Jin-sensei instructed.

Ren looked down at the Magic Array beneath his feet, his [Jianjigu] activating subconsciously.

Information about the Array flooded into his mind. This was an auxiliary Magic Array.

Moreover, as long as one had enough Magic Power, they could draw it themselves—though it required specific magical materials.

Mercury, cinnabar, magic stones... The exact materials needed to construct the Array poured into Ren's brain.

This gave him a complete understanding of how to build an identical Magic Array.

Sorting through the newly acquired knowledge, Ren felt a subtle sense of disbelief. *Did I really just learn it that easily?*

Furthermore, this spell didn't require a massive amount of Magic Power from the user; it fell under the category of Field Magic.

As long as the materials were prepared and the Array was drawn correctly, it could be activated.

The Array's effect was incredibly straightforward: it assisted with meditation, allowing people to quickly enter a focused state and boosting the speed of their magical meditation.

In fantasy terms, this thing was basically a Mana Gathering Array used to accelerate cultivation!

Power Stones, reviews, and comments— really helps a lot
